I liked to the overall command that the choir director had of the choir, and the respect that the choir members must have for the director as wall as the musicians. Being in a choir myself, it takes alot of work and dedication. Something that some young children these days just DO NOT HAVE!!!!!
@ladywithsence2007 No I don't know what she wanted the choir to sound like but any good choir director wouldn't want their choir to sound off key, pitchy, or flat. Just like you would want anything that your doing or involved in to sound or look good. My statement or critique was just an verbal expression of what my ears heard. The director may have been over the top for some but i could care less because she was doing her job which was to director. The choir didn't seem to do theirs correctly.
@donneboy2009 I don't think anybody have the right to discourage anyone from doing something for God. At the very least, she is doing more than the majority of the entire planet.
Spirit fingers!!!!!!!!! She was a lil extra with the long nails and the gestures, but she did command the the choir's attention. I like the arrangement, except for that lil note at the end!
The singing wasn't up to par with all that charismatic directing. That choir does not project their voices & they were flat at some points. She needs to direct a cathedral choir of 200-300 or something.... Even then, all that over-directing she does would STILL be too much... Simply overkill.
Her fingers may be "flittery" but if I were one of her choir members, I would understand every direction she was giving. Her cues were on point and you knew without a shadow of doubt, how much sound she wanted. lol. A few intonation issues but every choir has that from time to time. I say GOOD JOB! and Sis Director, keep it up.! :-)
I'm pretty sure that this is the Seventh Day Adventist choir from Houston that won the small division in the How Sweet The Sound Contest in 2010. This must be when they were practicing before the program.
the choir is really nice. The director probably isn't that animated most of the time. You know how people act when they know they are being recorded. But she is doing a great job with this choir.
This is proper collegiate directing of a choir.. or at least professor direct choirs like this at my school.. she just might be a real music teacher with a terminal degree..
average, the person posting this must only attend this church only. I've seen way more animated choir directors.

@emefalovesu Yes, it's really quite a mediocre group. How cares? they are just singing about Grimms fairy tales.

She may be animated, but i bet you if you haven't heard her arrangement of the song... You could still sing with them... She was amazing.
