  • This is the best pro tools tutorial....you showed us all the details...thank you so much, i learn how to record and mix with pro tools and now i'm working with it.....thanks! Congrats!!!!

  • NUENDO is a 100 times better than PRO TOOLS (L E or HD ) go read more about NUENDO and ull see ..its just a matter of advertisment ..obiouvsly DIGIDESIGN did a better job in that area .

  • @audioaddict100 fail

  • @joeadzhiyev Fail??? I learn how to record with pro tools with this guy......did you saw the whole tutorial?

  • @rodrigocruzvoz stop turning it around. i said fail because you said nuendo is better then protools. which it is not. protools is the best.

  • @joeadzhiyev Sorry Dude but it was another person...i didn't said that....actually i'm not a nuendo user..... audioaddict100 said that...

  • @rodrigocruzvoz oh sorry. you mean that audioaddict100 taught you how to use protools? im confused by what you mean

  • @joeadzhiyev hahaha, i'm sorry man...really sorry...now i saw my mistake....i thought you were saying "Fail" to the tutorial but actually, you were saying fail to audioaddict100, who said that nuendo is better than pro tools....myyy bad.....LOL......and yes..... audioaddict100 "fail"....can't compare nuendo with pro tools.

  • @fattyJNL Nope, never have. Where's my 20 bucks

  • @aaronsternke He said 12 bucks so caught out again. That old memory loss kicken in again

  • reason is easy to use :)

  • i got pro tools se, and i love it, i just wish one thing... they had a little bit more instruments and sounds, like gun shot noises or air horns for examples. other than that i like it!

  • Hey what's the different between Pro Tools 9 Software and Pro Tools MP 9?

  • I have always wanted 'a very powerful......system!'

  • Very good video mate. Keep up the great work. cheers

  • But in HD you get over a 100 tracks and

Unlike other software who lies and give you

A hundred track but does not tell you there

No way in hell your computer can handle

It.beside I was told just because something

Was outside my price range does not mean

it not worth it and should be devalues so that I can buy it no if they make things for people with big pockets I should just buy for what I pay for

  • Wow, I didn't know Lars Ulrich uses Pro Tools! #LOL

  • @RodrigoCFD LOL I've got that before... : )

  • and would like to add that you can build a full i7 system (with a 2600 processor) for less than 800$ (actually you can build one for even less). And I'd bet this affords enough power for most productions.

  • a i7 2600 processor will cost you roughly 300$ off newegg com. Protools hardware is a rip off.

  • The hardware ain't free you know? Better build a powerful computer.

  • I HAVE THE DOWNLOAD LINK TO PRO TOOLS 9 FOR BOTH MAC AND PC. SEND ME A MESSAGE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR IT

  • so do you need the cards? because i have a pretty beefy PC that can chew through anything.

  • @fattyJNL hahaha there is a goooooooooooood bit of musicians that do smoke weed :)

  • He doesnt have 10k even though he has a webcam that looks like 1k

  • i use cubase and protools both great daws

  • hi, ive been looking around at all the programs for music production ie. m audio, Q base and so on and have decided to go with pro tools. so anyway ive been fishing the net for the program and theres so many on there .. can anyone help me decide on wich one to use based on how quick it will take me to catch on.. can someone leave a link or msg me based on there veiws, thanks any help appreciated

  • @fattyJNL Loser.

  • Dolow.org

  • Im looking to buy the LE version but it says I need a dedicated hard drive. Can I just get a 500GB external hard drive? Will that work? I use a macbook pro

  • @Rawr5649 u need bigger "RAM" ya 500gb hard drive is good. but is the "RAM" dirve thatwill kill ya. macbook can install one for u for a bigger cost.

  • awsome program ! :) that guy looks like Lars Ulrich !! LOL :P

  • anny one can help me? got a problem wen im recording my guitar. I plug it in and all just the way your suposed to . And i get sound but its like the input volume is just way to high and even if i lower the input volume or use the "pad" thing on my Mbox it still just blurs out to much.

Anny one can help me or know what it is? im quite new to this so it might just be somthing simpel but all help would be awesome.

  • Whats up Pro Tools guru(s). Can someone tell me how to make a voice (recorded from audio) more high or low pitch? As in en effect. I saw some alien voice but I was wondering if there was an effect where the words could still be understood. Please help. Thanks

  • Tell me about m-powered versions, i think it sucks compared to Ableton LIve or others.

  • does this require any other hardware or is it a software that you can simply install and run?

  • @ProjectBerklee you have to have an interface...for ex. mbox for you to use it..

  • why can't i get good quality recordings in LE? is it the sound card in the computer? is it my MBox 2 mini? I'm not sure buying a better sound card for the comp would help, your thoughts are appreciated

  • @mirageus well if u dont mind me cutting in and asking. what seems to be wrong with the recordings exactly. inbox me if you'd like, and for starters bear in mind that your sound card on your computer has nothing to do with it. usuing the mbox 2 mini is for the purpose that in a sense that is a sound card, your computer's sound card cannot support pro tools, which is why u need the mbox2 mini, or the mbox 3 or m-audio if its the SE version, but u got the better one in that case ;)

  • @SenxOfFemur Thank you for the clarification. I just don't seem to be happy with the quality of the sound, when compared to other bands in Soundclick for example, it probably is a combination of my pick-ups, the cables, the relatively cheap guitar, the EQ I am currently using in my POD, I don;t know, I guess I have to keep tweaking things until it gets better. Thanks for your post, if you have any other suggestions they are welcome

  • @mirageus No problem :) I'm happy to help. Well, one thing to understand is as much as we may envy, a lot of bands have some really awesome shit! but ive learned from experience that its not always about how much equipment but its how u utlilize what u got. think of how many aspects go into it, between the guitar and any pedal boards or single EQs, the AMP itself and what kind of settings on there. are u Mic'ing an AMP? and what guitar do u have?

  • @SenxOfFemur I do suffer from tone envy :), I'm going direct from POD xt to ProTools. Thanks for your comments, by the way "Klavdia" was recorded with a Jackson-Concept through PODxt and a Crate Amp, I typically use an Ibanez for the heavier stuff, no Amp for those, never ending EQ both in POD and in ProTools, but clearly still a work in progress

  • @mirageus you're welcome :) do u usually record direct line in? how much do u use the crate amp? its YOUR song its ur choice, and how it sounds only u would know, but in klavidia, if you were to double the track, record another take or just litterally make an exact duplicate, so u got one on the left and right side of the ears, and pan it that way in pro tools and perhaps made it a little cleaner, it would have a FULL FAT sound! usuing the AIR Stereo width too. heavier strings would help too

  • 10,000 ? That's just absurd. Come on, who has that much money laying around.

For some reason I dislike Pro Tools and I haven't even used it.

Abelton Live is the way to go.

  • is this going to work on my Realtek sound card...(Windows XP) . ?

  • What sould I use? Ableton Live? Cubase? Pro-tools? they all sounds cool :)

  • @DjAotaka it's based around what kind of music you want to make.

  • @JesusWasASuperSaiyan I'm producing Trance(electronic) music. I've used FL Studio for 1 year and a half, but now I want to change :)

  • hello when i bounce my music in wav form it comes out low can you tell me why

  • Confused: he said that LE is way cheaper than HD, but it's only about 100 dollars cheaper. Did I miss something? other question: do I need to buy those cards, or could I run HD without them?

  • @FortisRex you cannot use HD without those cards, theyre thousands and thousands of dollars i got fooled too when i first looked into buying pro tools :( i got the LE 8.04cs2 right now and its fucking amazing. one day would like to crossgrade to 9

  • @SenxOfFemur Yeah, I finally figured it out. HD seems like a scam though, since there aren't many things it can do that Pro Tools 9 can't. The cards (typical 3 system) are 13 grand. I wound up buying the MBox 2 mini, as well as the crossgrade to PT9. I'm using the StudioLive 16.4.2 as my interface.

  • @FortisRex wow i figured it'd probably that much. Well, with the HD i think its what you can do at a time and probably state of the art quality? im not sure. i know metallica and linkin used/used HD. but yet look at the recording of St Anger, i mean sounds like a crappy garage band thing eh? i dont know u could be right! maybe only difference is of it working with all the tools and such at a recording studio, maybe thats it? how's 9? im thinkin of crossgrading at least the software

  • @SenxOfFemur Well, HD can only be used with 1 or more of the cards, and is only activated when you plug in an HD specific interface. The extra features really aren't worth 13,000.

I literally just got my Pro Tools in the mail today, and spent half the day installing. The only reason I bought LE and PT9 crossgrade was becasue it was 100$ dollars cheaper that way. I'll let you know how it goes, but I never used LE, so there's no reference point for me.

  • @SenxOfFemur And also, I am so new to Pro Tools, as I have been using Sonar for a while. From what I've found so far, there's a really good reason why Pro Tools is the industry standard and Sonar isn't.

I did look into HD, and from what I can tell, there's marginal benefits. It's one of those things that people just like to see when they rent time from a professional studio.

  • So many 'probably classic' organ sounds don't seem available as VSTi, or as free samples.

So I decided to share the unique sounds of organs I love to record myself so much. Click my name for FREE ORGAN SAMPLES: LESSER-HEARD HAMMOND PLUS YAMAHA ELECTONE AND ROLAND INSTRUMENTS.

Copy, record, comment and enjoy! Or better still, make your own.

  • @FortisRex ahh I see, that's what i figured and I agree. u really can be seen to anyone why its the industry leadr

  • can pro tools be used to increase the quality of your song?

  • @JDeMuse No. Such software could enhance the quality already there though.

  • @OnlyGoodCommie what?

  • digidesign is now known as AVID.

  • Have you guys seen the new windows 7 equipped StudioBLADE from Music Computing? It the perfect Keyboard for running Pro Tools (yes, you CAN install it right on the keyboard!)!

  • Just wanted to let you guys know to cehck out the new windows 7 equipped StudioBLADE from Music Computing. The perfect keyboard to run protools!

  • Protools 9 can be use on any Sound card.. This started from 26 Nov 2010.

Buy the protools 9 and install on your DAW and just run it.

You do not need their hardware anymore....

    More info vibesfm.de

  • Yeah you can get torrents for it, which really is the only way most people can get it. But once you download and go to the hastle of installing it, you will find that you cant use it, because you need the hardware that comes with Pro Tools when you buy it. If you dont have the hardware, you cant open the program. It sucks I know.

  • this was very helpful..

im just starting to get into recording shit.. for my band

    thanks!

  • this was very helpful..

im just starting to get into recording shit.. for my band

    thanks!

  • You're wrong! I can't afford it. :)) And I know some guys they also can't.

  • if i had the mbox can i use a behrnger or Yamaha mixer or do i have to stick to digidesign / avid products

  • What mac should I be looking for to best support pro tools?

  • I have a? I really need answered What all would i need to Run pro tools HD at the cheapest.... I have A Imac could i use it on that or i Need A Mac pro let me know anyone thanks much...

  • I did use digi 002 for long time but I you sonar prog because I don't know how to you the protools prog I do thank you again. sir

  • Mr. Goodman I am Thai and I have seen all your vdo I can say that you are a goodman and your vdo it's helpful and do so thankyou for a thinks you have done. all your vdo it is good. thanks a lot.

  • there would be much less piracy if the price was reasonable. unfortunately, i cant afford pro tools, as much as i wanted to. what a shame. i guess i will have to use the try-before-you-buy version. Statistics show that a 15% decrease in price leads to a 25% increase in sales, and a 50% price drop increases the sales by 1500%, while a 90% price drop increases the sales by a whooping 14000%.

these are the statistics for video games sold on steam, but i assume it can apply to other software too.

  • What about all the hardware you need to use ProTools?

  • I have a mbox 2 mini. Is it not possible to have output playback sound through the output on the front? I can hear the click i made, but the sound from instruments is silent. It looks like the recording is ok...

  • do u know how to copy hooks and choruses throughout a song??

  • and uh.. and uh.. and uh..

  • U look like lars ulrich

  • engineers

  • Ableton live 8 is wAY more stable then protool any any daw, i can even run 17 heavy synths on a crappy old realtek chip, lol 10,000 is a wast of cash, ask deadmau5

  • it's over 9000$!

  • WHAT did he just say $10 000

  • I need someones opinion. This guy is selling a computer for $2,500... it is a custom made Windows XP with 1,400 gigabytes, Protools 8 with every single plug-in and Acid 7.0 with every single plug-in. It's about a year old.... You think it's worth it?? I'm just using it to record, I ain't really into producing anymore.

  • @detroitMC313 he probably use a cracked version of the programs - if you do get it make sure you get the installation cds/authentic serials as well, otherwise no its not worth it

  • @djzilchdotcom Thanx man.... He actually went down to $2,200... I asked him why he got it on Windows XP (because he chose it) and he said it's because his plug ins would only run on XP. Do you know what that means?? lol. I don't get why a newer version of windows wouldn't support his plug ins??? Do you think I'm better off buying everything brand new?? A new computer, and acid and pro tools??? which would be cheaper? thanxxxxx

  • protools m-powered?

  • Hi means every one of rich people out there. The rest of us can fu.. them self.

  • actually you can get a c 24 control service and a HD 2 system for 20,000. Witch I will be getting in the near feature.

  • is LE the version with the M-box?

  • @gmangigson Yes, Pro Tools LE is included in the Mbox 2 boxes.

  • @TheFroyjo cool. thx!

  • @365daysgone The school I'm giong to just put in a full on Pro Tools workstation studio/recording room for about $250,000.

  • @365daysgone i know right. everyone can afford $10,000..

  • i freaking love pro tools!!!! he is so right its alot user friendly then reason i think..

  • yall should just pirate the stuff its free

  • malparido gringo hijo de puta habla español que no entiendo una mierda

  • it aint worth a grand though.

  • why would a program cost 10k

  • @n8tivguitar It's not just a program, it also comes with REALLY great hardware, It's like an all in one studio.

  • @Youexposed1 will it pay for its self one day?

  • @n8tivguitar well that's up to you, and what you can do.

If you're very talented but don't want to work with technology then probably not. It gets VERY complicated. But if you love the technical side of music and you have studio experience but you're not too much of a musician, you could open up a studio and become an audio engineer.

It's WAAAY too big of a program to be your first. I would start with Pro Tools LE which is a lot simpler and can start at about $300-$1000.

  • @n8tivguitar Its not just a software, its a full solution and It actually doesn't need so much computer power, its more like buying an addon for your computer that does all the processing, mixing and stuff, actually it was the only decent solution back in the 90s when computers weren't that powerful (will it pay for itself? well ask that question to the biggest studios in the world)

  • He says $10k with a smile. Look at other applications and focus on recording, PT/Avid is still onboard with the '80's biz approach...they're lost.

  • You no longer have to use Digidesigns hardware to use Pro Tools on Mac! Hahahahahahaha!

  • @UTubeKEYGEN how

  • @UTubeKEYGEN You actually don't need the hardware if you use LE in any platform.

  • can you put it on a laptop? excuse my ignorance, just always seen big computers..

  • This was crap. Took us through nothing. Rot in hell.

  • @JamezTmusikTV you're totally agree right with that I've tried and tried countless times to record on fl studio with failure, but it's interface is superb with production

  • He said by the end of this tutorial i would would recording! --- You bastard!

  • so well done, for a layman like me,you made it easy to com-preheend,thank you for sharing your knowledge, cheers from montreal!!!

  • @JamezTmusikTV

well as an x fl studio usser who has made well over 100 instrumentals on fl studio, i totalt disagree.

i just think its trendy rite now to praise fl studio on the internet kuz so many other people use it, the popularity of fl studio comes from the fact over half the people who have it havnt payed for it.

i was just being HONEST its a very poor program.

  • isit possible to use pro tools without m-audio driver

  • I'm trying to get use to Pro Tools. The layout isn't too hard but is a lot to learn.

  • please, can someone tell me how to setup my headphones on Mbox 2 mini on pro tools 8 le beucase I live in an apartment and I can't use M-audio monitors

  • @jemad77 Did you try Google? look it up, the Internet is a powerful thing =3

  • Hey,

I am a voiceover talent. What's the easiest way to put music underneath my voice. Haven't been able to figure it out.

    thanks

  • Hello,

I perform voicework work mainly from my LE7. What's the best way to put music underneath my voice? Haven't been able to figure it out... thanks

  • Hope somone can answer a question. Using protools Le, when I bounce a final mix to disk the audio file that I end up with has a Left and Right seperate file? Some of the various track swere paned out during the final mix. How do I configure it to have both left and right in the same file so it sounds like the way I recorded it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • same thing happen to me twincam, i don't know why i am thinking "digital" conversion stores the mono signal also.. my cd was recorded with an old and FREE "cool edit pro" looks like im going to have a hard time with this costly change over! still not able to figure out how to edit wav tracks separately for noise reduction etc. it was easy with cool edit and did a good job too.. someone please tell me i made the right choice going with pro tools....

  • You need to select "Stereo Interleaved" from the bounce options. This will marry the two mono channels to one stereo file.

  • Great intro

  • Holly fucking fuck!!! 10 Gs!!!!! Yea wen I become peofessional I can afford it but for now I'll stick to FL studioxxl, probly the best

  • KanyeisBest815 thats the funnyist coment ive herd all day

pro tools le costs less then fl studio!

ur a funny guy, why are all fl ussers total moorons like you?

there are many 'pro' daws out there, fl studio being the worst by far, pro tools hd being the most supeiour, if your just recording or making instrumental music in a home studio id strongly advise you use another platform for your vst effects and instruments (if you even own any lol) try cubase, live, sonar, acid pro or reaper

  • ok then how much is it huh? and im talking about the main expensive professional one not some cheap ass demo....yes i happen to have an mpk25 and an mpd24...no i dont need real instruments im doing hip hop east coast style beats...fl is great (no i dont use the stupid shit they give you) i sample all my drums and my melodys...they have great and easy sequencers and those things that organize it all.....edison is the greatest wav sampler ive used

  • @KanyeisBest815

u have no knollige, stop writting me comments please.

ive tryed fl and all the other daws mentioned, fl has the highist cpu, worst interface and is prone to crashing due to poor c++ programing.

fl studio is just popular at the moment its a fashion acessery, but seriously n honestly its sukz.

theres always a flavour of the month, in the daw world! the next 1 looks like it will be 'studio 1' anover piece of trash made by x cubase employies.

  • @ceetheproducer if all fl users are idiots and morons how come deadmau5 uses fl for loops and if it was the worst daw it probably would have compatible with vsts and dxi plugins effects and have a gui with its own ready to use plugins and effects. another thing pro tools isnt compatible vsts so u have to drop 30 bucks on top of the 400 plus ur going to have to pay for the inter face to get a vst to rtas converter so they can work in pro tools.

  • @TheRunningScout

lmms, enery xt, magix and a whole heap of other really shitty daws are compatible with vst instruments and effects and come with there own (shitty) ready to use effects and instruments, just like fl studio

fl has a small and notoriously poor sample libary so props to anyone usin it kuz ud have to be creative as a motherfukka to get anything out of it, IT WUD BE SO MUCH EASYER TO USE QUALITY SAMPLES FROM A SPECIALIST COMPANY SUCH AS PRIME LOOPS.

  • @TheRunningScout

i have been producing over 13 years, and used nearly every daw. this fl studio stuff is just hype spead by the makers of fl studio (image line) the truth is tho fl is not a quality product its really is vey poor in comparison to CUBASE, LOGIC, SONAR, ACID, REAPER, REASON+RECORD, LIVE, STUDIO ONE, SAW STUDIO, SAMPLITUDE, JJ OS, and so on

  • @ceetheproducer yea i can understand where your comming from fl in my use is a understudy for using vsts. i use reason 4 but i create tracks from fl but i use my own samples, drum kits and vsts. i can totally relate to you when u said fl has a poor sample library and fl studios sample library has been overly used in music for beginners for example soljia boy and new boys.

  • Hey to get pro tools do u need hardware instruments to use it!! I've been using fl studio and everything is done in the software!! You don't keyboards etc!

Do u need actual instruments or can you do it all on pro tools???

  • To run pro tools you either have to have an M-Audio interface(one that is supported), an Mbox Pro 2 or the 192 i/o HD interface(for the HD). You don't need a midi controller to run it but midi controllers are always a plus but if you are just making let's say beats it's not worth it because any DAW can make beats, but Pro Tools is the industry standart for audio editing, mixing and mastering.

  • i recognise that desk ;)

  • Dude. Get to the fking point!!!

  • I have LE 7.4, been running it for years, love it. Way cheaper than HD, does what I want it to do, highly recommend it!

  • anyone can afford it

free with your download of a torrenting program

  • @colenbrak yea but for Pro Tools to run properly u need the sound cards, racks,or mboxes

  • 5 finger discount WHEEEEOOOHHH

  • Thank u for sharing

  • i thought u said ild b recording at the end of this video???..need tp teach and quit talking so much about what u can do and not do..we dont care about that!! just show us how to record!!!

  • @shooter8809 its says part 1..

  • Are there video capabilities like in Nuendo or would I want to go to Nuendo for that?

  • Thank you. This is very helpful. I was trying to understand the difference between Protools LE and others and leaning toward Nuendo. Will LE work on my Mac laptop? What hardware do I need and what's the price range for LE.

  • and protools m-powered

  • you can get mbox 2 and LE for less than 250

  • i dont think "everybody can afford it" since its around £12,000 wtf

  • holly fuck 10 grand ill stick with garage band

  • anyone can afford it?

  • @jmel93 Yeah, this is such a stupid thing to say about Pro Tools HD... Here in Germany its about 5000€ -.-

  • @jmel93 Lmfao I thought I was the only one who caught that.

  • @jmel93 It's quite cheap compared to what I've spent in the 1980s for audio hardware. Two Studer 24 track machines 250,000USD the 56 inline mixing console 300,000 USD. So the question isn't if one can afford it. The question is, do you need it. Are you a professional?

  • @MillyVanillification I know that it's cheap compared to other software I'm just taking the piss, but far out I didn't know there were machines worth 250000 and 300000.

  • @jmel93 :D torrents buddy

  • Thanks. Very clear and understandable useful video.

  • not like any producer with an IQ over 50 would use iTunes to manage his or her music.

  • Comment removed

  • The irony is that the intro music to this clip is made in garage band...

  • sorry for my ignorance but... how could you tell??? i really wonder... and yep its an irony...

  • o rlly?

  • @TheRepublicOfJohn Lol :D

  • after u bounce the music from pro tools to itunes it becomes wav how can u convert it to mp3 or wma

  • iTunes doesn't convert wav to mp3. I suggest downloading audacity. In audacity you just import the wav file, then export as an mp3. Audacity is free, do a google search.

  • @carterfelderva

    ITunes certainly can

  • @townsendbig13 you can convert it in iTunes

    right click "create mp3"

it might say acc on yours

so go to settigs in iTunes and change it to mp3

  • Aaron, looks like I may need a faster writing hard drive? I read some more today on this issue and most all the solutions are to use an external firewire HD. Im definetly no computer geek, what to you think?

  • Aaron--

Thanks for taking the time to create and post these videos. Very direct and informative.

  • Aaron, I finally got the program installed on my Dell. Also increased the RAM to 3gigs. Went throught the troubleshooting on digidesign website and still having problems? I continue to get a error ( CPU held off interrupts too long increase buffer size) If I do that then it tells me to decrease? It making me crazy! I also cant get rid of the delay when I am armed and ready with a guitar track?
