  • We still use the same set today... wow.

  • haha its funny thinking of seeing denise or mary at thier real ages

  • CBS owned WJZ 13 won't be building a new HDTV type set any time soon.

Imagine what would happen if HD viewers got to see Denise Koch and Sally Thorner at their REAL AGES!

RATINGS WOULD GO DOWN THE DRAIN FAST! LOL

  • but if they do they should invest in makeup

  • WJZ are in HD

WMAR is the only set without HD

  • WMAR UPDATE THEIR SET IN TO HD

  • As far as I'm concerned, you can NEVER have TOO many fireplaces on a news set.

Nor can you have TOO many aquariums, carousel horses or grandfather clocks.

  • Has WJZ-TV been in their current studios at Television Hill in Baltimore for over 60 years?

  • ..and I would guess by now that set is totally outdated by the HD transition..

  • I remember there was one time that the "13" in the background opened up to reveal a monitor when Al and Jerry was doing the news.

  • i remember during the mid-90s when all Westinghouse stations (incl WBZ, KDKA & WJZ) use a wooden desk & a blue backdrop for their newscasts.

  • How much bigger was the original set from when Jerry Turner and Al Sanders were there?

  • When I saw them switch to the new set during the morning show...and I was late for my bus to get to school while watching this!!!

  • how many times did they say "home" and "family"???
