  • 0:15 Nice, an awesome house came out of nowhere. We all know this kind of shits happen when you're lost alone in the woods.

  • Fake #1 The matches would not survive in a humid environment,(if anything should be in a sealed container) remember he said 30 ft.rain per year creating a lot of ambient moisture.

Poor storage for fish hooks)hanging on a hook? why not a tackle box And that my friend is no

shack it is a well used cabin my guess staged. Rob from Canada

  • Wow I found a cabin, I will break an enter now.. How fake

  • @Austink1973 fake? its not supposed to be like he's really lost. this isnt bear grylls who claims he's in danger. He just showing you.

  • @Austink1973 The people who live in the area know where these cabins are and they are kept up to be used as both base camp for longer hunting trips or as shelter for those in need. If you watch "The Psychology of Survival" he tells the story of a family that used that very cabin when their boat sank.

  • Some survivalists...he "finds" an abandoned house , illegally enters, makes himself at home???...this is lame..english people suck.

  • @philly2sd although it is too convenient to just find a shack, abandoned but ready to inhabit, suppose you do... what would you do? walk away and "rough it" with a home made lean to and forage for berries and tinder for the fire you'll create rubbing two sticks together, probably for hours, until you're too tired to cook anything, much less hunt for it. What is the ideal survivalist? One who makes do or makes his way into the wilds to survive like an animal?

  • he calls that cabin a hut? looks damn nice to me

  • d-does he have a unibrow?

  • And what if I don't have all that??? Lamest survival video ever

  • In other words: The ultimate way of surviving is finding a shack with a bunch of supplies in the middle of nowhere.

  • ahh adverbs!

  • Jeez Dude ! Where's the blooooody maid ???

  • or how to survive in your front room...

why does'nt he just order a pizza instead of fishing?

  • What a faggy min and 15 seconds. who keeps a bunch of fish hooks on a Nail. Way to be observant your like fucking sherlock Homo

  • I live in Alaska, there are a ton of shelter cabins out here, but please don't make it look this easy to find shelter! Now lets talk about building some shelters =)

  • @Biireal Oh, and those survival shelters are as nice as the one in this clip haha.

  • @Biireal so no one owns these shelter cabins.....are the old and abandoned on government land or something?

  • @inkey2 I gues you should check out information about hese old hunter cabins that are built all aroound the dense woods the hunting areas, so it's a pretty fair chance to find one like this, dunno, I'm not form USA or Canada either, but I know there are such cabins all around there. Hunters just build these, stay for some time and then leave for others so it's required to be respectfull for those who were and will be living in these, like leaving matches, hooks and whatnot to help others.

  • Anybody know what series these clips are from? I'm aware they are titled Extreme Survival but Ray mear's Extreme Survival series is actually different and does not include these clips. I would like to get these on DVD that's why.

  • @TheZongta this is from an episode called the Psychology of Survival. Weirdly, the poster cut off the clip before Ray Mears says that the main thing to surviving is the determination to do so -- then tells the story of a family whose boat sinks. Two of them make it to the cabin, then return to rescue the rest.

  • monobrow

  • what bag is being used in this video

  • friggin' holiday Inn

  • hey guys im lost here in the forest does anybody know where this cabin is cos my arse is freezing here, thanx

  • hahaaaa you would be very lucky to find that cabin idiot, its bad that there is no hd tv

  • I like Ray, but this segment was fucking stupid. WTF? "If lost in the Alaskan woods, your best bet is to look for an abandoned cabin". WTF???

  • why the fuck does people only upload a few minutes of each program with Ray Mears? Is it a copywright thing or what the hell is the problem?

  • A real survival expert...trespassing!

  • @brockpierce1984

Not really. There are a lot of small cabins that are located all over Alaska for hunters, and are pretty much public domain. A lot of people leave things like firewood, matches, fish hooks etc for other people to use. It's pretty common to take something and leave something else for the next person.

  • I take it that cabin becomes the "hostile environment" when the hicks from Deliverance come home to find some schmuck broken into their cabin and using there stuff.

  • he sure gots a purdy mouth, don't he

  • Wheres the TV?

  • What if you can't find a cabin. How about some real survival skills.

  • @122333nic id build myself a freakin cabin

  • The rest of the episode is relevant to survival. This clip was simply a poor choice. He was setting the viewer up for a juxtaposition - I think that's obvious. The clip simply cut off at an inconvenient moment.

  • how the hell was this helpful...? "if you want to survive while lost in the woods, jam a horse-shoe up your ass and chances are you'll find a five star shack with everything you need to survive...." I've CAMPED in much worse conditions, let alone EXTREMELY SURVIVED!

  • there's a dead mouse in his teapot but he forgot to look.

  • @EleventhHourEmpire Not I dried up on mind you... A festering rotten one, sure to contaminate his woodmans pine needle tea...lololol

  • @EleventhHourEmpire, hmmn well then at least he get some proteins.

  • Also if you look back here, you will find a flatscreen tv. which could come in handy during those lonely nights.

  • This should be called " How to survive in a nice cabin with everything you need". This has to be a joke.

  • Such morons! 1st thing you want to do in a hostile enviroment? GET THE FUCK OUT OF IT!

The dude has plenty of vids. showing how to make shelters and so on, go watch them if you can't understand the sense in searching for a cabin when lost in the wilderness!

  • lol.....i hope the owner of that 'shack' comes home early lmao!

  • @sdbrunn shut up

  • Hardly a hostile environment. I bet there's a phone too to order dominos pizza and mcdonalds.

  • ...or for some callgirls :D

  • Nice behaviour. But try to think like that: For most of the modern people, wilderness in general is a hostile enviroment. Think of all these bankers and brokers aso. This wasnt an attack on you. this was just some kind of... request for a challenge.

  • its a hostile inviroment but hes in a cabin? wiht a stove and matches and if you look closely theres a wall socet at the back wihyt a lamp and theres books and a nicely made bed

  • i would like to see all of you in the wildernes. All you can do is complain. Make it better and proove yourself

  • fuck off im just saying how its not a hostile enviroment like really think abotu it your self. if you can?

  • I agree. The people who bitch end up dead in a survival situation. If they were in my group, they would be ousted immediately. Better for them to die alone then for them to kill all of us with their stupidity.

  • Any situation/place can be hostile, depending on the person's perspective. Those that spend their time complaining ARE the ones that don't make it, I agree w/ that. ...Adapt/Overcome that is the rule.

  • I was caught by a blizzard in the Rocky mountains--30 miles back in off trail--two feet of snow. On my way out--with minimal gear (I was not expecting snow when I started out a few days earlier-- daytime temps were near 70 degrees F) , I found a wardens' cabin. It was a godsend--I didn't break in, but made generous use of the large woodppile I found outside.

  • you should have brocken in i'm sure they wouldnt have cared

  • It could have been a bears house, he/she could have cared lol.

  • lol nice call llllllll. You obviously don't think much of Bear Grylls. But you got to admit he is pretty successful. As for this guy I got nothing against him but you don't call a video hostile environment when you go to a cabin. Bear is the guy that goes into hostile terrain. I respect survivorman but since he does his own filming sometimes that gets in the way of what he is teaching.

  • so true man i dont see how its a hostile inviroment when theres a cabin wiht a stove, and happens to be matches right beside it, and in the backround you can see a wal socet and books

  • lol u call that hostile survival. I guess when u found out the cabin didn't have air conditioning it became extreme survival. Doesn't take a Bear Grylls to live in a cabin.

  • Doesn't take a Survivorman to be a Bear Grylls.

  • it's a hostile environment with no tea and biscuits.....poor guy

  • it takes a survival expert to figure out that shelter + food + water = good ¬.¬

  • now how you gonna get it? thats where the expert part comes in, your in the desert, where you gonna get water like that... savvy

  • I tend to stay away from deserts.

  • Maybe the desert comes to you.

  • Maybe it doesn't.

  • working jobs we hate to buy shit we dont need.

learn how to feed yourself, find water and food, when you have no money.

im learning tree surgery so i can do jobs for people evrywhere, buy food an clothes and the rest is play time in the woods. 5 months to go

    just me and my van.

  • what the heck is tree sugery?!

  • sounds like a hobo life.

  • what about the size of those fishhooks? Fishing for whales?

  • finding a cabin with more stuff in it than a normal house is not extreme survival.

  • Nope, it is British humour

  • HOW is this supposed to teach us about survival?

  • so that's the key to survival in desolate places, find a cabin somewhere and settle in

  • prettywell set up? if i found a place like that id never fuckin leave! screw rent, electric bills gas bills id hang out with bigfoot and dance around the fire naked! awsome...

  • I hear ya!!!

Modern society is just one big oppresive system, Working for someone else is truly just a slave wage!

Im already planning my escape into the woods to live freely as life was intended to be lived.

    Freedom!!!!!!!

  • me as-well, but i will get done with my full education first(just in-case somthing happens and im forced back to society) even if i dont want to wait and do it now. but im going to have too. i am still young so hopefully i can still do this later but at the same time soon enough.

  • that was extream bush survival.

  • this is great show........but he should realy do something about that eyebrow XD

  • stay dry!!!!!!!!!

  • Bear Grylls is a pure pansy ass wanker. Survivor Man blows the balls off Bear!

  • ...actually, I could survive a day in the woods, and quite comfortably. Can you?

  • To get you to watch his full episodes on television or on DVD.

  • exactly :)

  • ray mears is the godfather of all survivour men

  • ha dont make me laugh raymears is a teacher not a fukin idiot like bear grils

  • well said!

  • what on earth are you saying? the BBC should ram it's figurative 20-inch meat obelisk down your ridiculous throat.
