I have been in the Army for 10 years and that is exactly how basic was for me to. The drill sergeants really do care and want to listen to your problems. That was 10 years ago. The Army has gotten even softer since then.
@jca2005 claim EVERYTHING on your VA physical when your out processing. I mean everything, every injury you received while your tour in the Army. when you start getting that check from the VA every month once you get out you'll thank me.
I agree with quickzilver333. What a dumb mistake I made joining the army. Now my body is all broken up and it's not worth it. Just shit on all day. Im on my second year and I ets in a little over a year. Can't wait.
ok sorry to say but put something real on here!!!! dont be dumb and ask your drill sgt to shine your boots or work around you!!! IGNORANT TO EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've heard that sometimes the Drill Sergeants let people use cell phones for like an hour on sundays from people that have already been through basic. Is this true,or was I misled?
@frylok69 Its true well sorta the last couple weeks you get to but other then that you dont mainly because they want to teach you that you wont be there every secound with their families but they know how the human mind works and they know that no one would join or stay in the army if they dident have any communication with their family
Funny. I was just told it was more like 42 hours with only 2 hours sleep and 14 hrs of standing at attention a day. Needless to say, the recruiter didn't say a word to that effect...
There's only one thing to remember about shamming. If you look like you're miserable, no one will fuck with you. They'll think you're busy doing something you don't like, and will leave you alone. :) This is especially true in basic training, as the it's the drill's job to make you miserable.
thats messed ya'll are setting these cats up for failure lmao!! oh wait, it totally makes sense this is airforce basic training we're talking about. Basic training isn't hard but ya'll are trying to get these new recruits in trouble lmao!!
@infokemp Cell or mobile phones aren't a nessesity in Basic Training. We aren't in combat while there. Otherwise, they're a distraction to the trainees and an unneeded one.
brazil, so soldiers cant joke around, they have to be serious 24/7, they were joking about thier basic training, basic training in reality is VERY hard
I went through basic summer 1993 at Fort Leonard Wood. Back then, Army recruiters told some "terrible" lies. I think they all told the same one. One recruiter had been a Drill Sergeant at Fort Leonard Wood. He said, "This is the new Army. This is not the 1950's" He even told me, Drill Sergeants will even order pizza for you. Well, in basic, During the first week, someone asked for pizza, and at 2am we all payed for it.
@jpd782 i have a friend who's ds did order them pizza after their last field training exercise, because they did a good job, but u DO NOT ask them to order one.
@LinkedMooMan117117 This statement also reminds me of the golden rule of basic; If you value your life and mental stability, DO NOT PISS OFF THE DRILL SERGANT.
No, don't piss off the people reading your online stuff to hook you up with a date, especially when they've never had a job before or understandings besides a TM. Stay away from the internet if you are in the military. They have fun and eat corn chips while you suffer over and over again and are trapped by what's always trapped you. Equals can't hit you so they can do other things. Let us fight back in a fair way. I was respectful at first, but I lost patience. Nobody ever stops.
@jpd782 Huh, they told me the same thing in summer of 1993. Except that was at Ft. Benning. But you have to take into the consideration that the whole of Basic is meant to be one big mind fuck. Therefore, if something sounds too good to be true, it is. Don't fall for it, realize that they're fuckin with you and you'll be OK.
@rangerstubbs76 Oh, I know. I went through basic in 1993 myself. It's easier to mindfuck a bunch of 18 year olds right out of high school. They still think the world revolves around them. But, that's how one learns.
@jpd782 i just laughed so i hard, lol when i was in basic the DS told us we can have cupcakes and shit in the dfac, then one came in screaming at this kid "pvt is that fucking moon-pie wraper? alright pvt's everyone up stop chewing stop chewing lol their so funny man.....lol memories
@wiggalama I know. Well, when I went to basic in 1993 it was still kind of old school. Females and males were trained totally seperate. We didn't see any females anywhere for a month. But about a year or so later they started with the co-ed. So, we were kind of the last of the old ways. But as far as the pizza? who knows what's going on in the mind of an 18 year old? LOL
@masmantour Actually. Warrior Tower didn't even exist then. At least we never saw it. I'm shocked at how many new things they have at Leonard Wood since I was there. I'm jealous. We were really primitive in our training.
@jihadworksbothways1 Army recruits havent shined boots ever since they got the ACU uniforms. That would be funny to see a recruit ask tho. Then get choke slammed. LOL
one day we were all smoking in the back stairway and a few minutes later a supply specialist came up the back stairs and sniffed around, but noone got busted. That part at least might be true :d

Soldiers and marines were getting shot and blown up, convoys getting ambushed and these snobby civilians in uniform were bitching about their living conditions. And they wonder why they are the laughingstock of the military!! Army Strong all the way!!
These look like those sham asses that you see in basic that are getting chaptered out for whatever reason so the Drill Seargents just kinda leave them alone.
Marines nor Airforce aren't derived from the Army. Actually Marines is a part of the Navy and the Airforce, Navy, Army, etc. is under the branch of the Military.
WRONG Marines were actually a army regiment of 200 soldiers, when the navy needed someone to clear the beach landing, the army issued the regiment to the Navy, so that is when the marines became apart of the Navy, Dont talk if you don't know
I respect your knowledge of Military History although when I used the the term "derived" I meant as in they are currently a Department under the Department of the Navy.
November 10, 1775 is the celebrated birthday of the US Marines...The Colonial Congress decided to take a sterner attitude. A committee of the Congress drafted a resolution to create a new military unit, called the Continental Marines.
This resolution was drafted in a popular Philadelphian inn called Tun Tavern, and was later approved by the entire legislative body.
@JinnZhora You do know that the Air Force had it's origins as the Army Air Corps during WW1 and 2, right? Similar to the Marines using the Navy's components. It was made it's own separate branch afterwards.
@rangerstubbs76 I was saying that those departments are not under the Army currently because I had thought he had meant so. Not sure why I said derived but yes, I do know their origins are from the Army.
ok video was lame and as far as the whole airforce navy comments im in the army and yes its true its harder to get in to the air force...but jesus christ i work with them in i iraq and as far as being physcialy fit ..yeah right most are fat and lazy not to mention i watched an airmen lock and load just cause he saw a car...but still they are alot more tech. inclined death from above.... hooah
it may be hard for those who can't score a 50 on the a.s.v.a.b. but for those who can make a 50 can join the air force, but I myself was disreguarded by all the different branches other than the Army, I used to score on the practice in the very high 20's, but then the only branch willing to work with me was the Army, and I scored high enough to get into any branch I wanted and the recruiters from some of the other branches asked to see my score and had them with their foots in their mouths! X)
@nonstolticarborundi Don't really know what your point is, but I only scored a 32 on the ASVAB. Served a year in the WI National Guard as an 11B. I then went Active Duty on a Ranger contract as a 31U in the 75th Ranger Regt. Got tabbed and went to all kinds of Hooah schools after that. It never mattered a damn what I scored on the ASVAB, it was how good of a soldier I could be in the end.
Looks like a bunch of POG's chillin outside the Fort Gordon barracks. Get a combat job ladies, your MOS is useless and probably done by civillians anyway
thank you for your service to our country and for the freedoms we take for granted

Help educate young people about the misleading marketing, advertising and recruiting practices of the United States Army at our website which is the same as our user name.
You DO know that eventually someone will get caught with a cell phone or smokes, all because of you. Contraband is for real and they'll land themselves an Article 15 fast if caught. Best thing for everyone watching to do? Ignore and forget about this crap. Basic/AIT is short. Teach yourself some discipline. You'll be able to go right back into your old shitty habits once you get out if you want. Use the opportunity to better yourself as a soldier instead of being some schmuck like these guys.
@rangerstubbs76 nobody ever gets an article 15 during basic or ait for that unless they get multiple warnings. the only thing i ever seen anyone get was extra fireguard duty for a few days and get smoked a little longer than usual
@0587dave There were 3 of my fellow platoon members who recieved Article 15's without warnings, on the same day for making an unauthorized trp to the PX. They brought back all kinds of contraband, candy bars, cigarettes and other assorted junk and sold it to other soldiers. The other dudes were the ones that got smoked and the extra fireguard duty. Multiple warnings? Not in the Infantry School at Ft. Benning. You must have went somewhere else.
exactly.... dont get caught...... that is what our drill sergeants basically told us. you have to learn to be covert. freackin week 5, some of my fellow pvts got chew into the company, and did NOT get caught. good times
the "soldiers" in these videos are obviously being sarcastic.

I like your style. Hooah.
jaymp24 2 years ago
@rangerstubbs76 nobody ever gets an article 15 during basic or ait for that unless they get multiple warnings. the only thing i ever seen anyone get was extra fireguard duty for a few days and get smoked a little longer than usual
0587dave 1 year ago
@0587dave There were 3 of my fellow platoon members who recieved Article 15's without warnings, on the same day for making an unauthorized trp to the PX. They brought back all kinds of contraband, candy bars, cigarettes and other assorted junk and sold it to other soldiers. The other dudes were the ones that got smoked and the extra fireguard duty. Multiple warnings? Not in the Infantry School at Ft. Benning. You must have went somewhere else.
