@mrbelmont2000 The Faint didn't steal it - it clearly states in the album cover booklet that they have used this as a basis for Southern Belles and they've acknowledged B-Movie. Better than these crappy samples we get today.
All they have is memories Photographs in silver frames Remembrance Day Lost forever in a field, In a foreign land, many miles away. In the forest, in the snow All those many years ago. Bombs and victims blown sky high Buried where they lie A generation underground Wrinkled faces gathered round Won't ever bring them back Never bring them back Remembrance Day Remembrance Day.
In the forest, in the snow All those many years ago Hailstones and epitaphs All these body bags and half-mast flags In the cemetery where they fell All those many years ago Now it's just a memory Eroded by the years. Forgotten heroes underground Wrinkled faces gathered round Hailstones and epitaphs Roses on a barbwire fence Winter landscape, never change, Oh it must have been the same In the forest, in the snow All those many years ago Remembrance Day
what are you waiting for....get out and see them. next gig April 10th London (Blow-Up, Denmark st.), followed by Barcelona and Madrid the following weekend!!
A totally underated song. Fantastic lyrics. Brought back great memories from the early 80s. Wish I had appreciated this band more and really got into their music. Thanks for posting. 12" version - FANTASTIC.
@inverclydepa15 Stevo from Some Bizzare had a choice at the time (B-Movie or Soft Cell) he chose soft cell but b-movie gained cult status , They had a huge following in Scotland especially the town of Grangemouth where every copy of rememberance day was bought... We even had a DJ steal a copy of a punter at the bowhouse disco because it was so popular...... !!!
Great song, Thanks. What a shame there wasn't any MV or TOTP appearance. I had a tape which I listened to so many times and deteriorate over the years until I got hold of the CD of this particular version. Wonder if they ever release CD of the other (newer?) version.
5555* I love this song and more...

@inverclydepa15 Yes, the music was really good, and even inspired Montreal artists like Francois Matte
