  • Need more videos of this please!

  • everything can happen in america :)

  • and!!!! what next????

  • Would be hilarious if you blew coal down a road.

  • I wonder if a 3-53 Detroit Diesel "Gamma Goat" would work for this?

  • when he revved it up I came and started farting.....

  • That is a very nice job, i like it thumbs up

  • how long did that take to put into that vic and how much did that engine cost?

  • This car would not only be helpful in terms of the effectiveness and efficiency on how they carry out their jobs, but to the expenses as well.

  • 4BT's are the Duct Tape of Diesels, NOTHING they can't do, NOTHING you can't stick them in!

  • @snatale1 i want to stick one in my little pontiac lol

  • What does 4BT stand for? Four banger turbo perhaps?

Sorry for my ignorance but I'm not American.

  • @Taunuslunatic

    4 = number of cylinders

    B = model series

    T = turbocharged

  • @Taunuslunatic four cylinder b series turbo

  • Different!

  • where can u buy a 4BT and for how much?

  • @MrDillonwiegand You can buy them on ebay; they cost anywhere from $2500 used to $4000 new

  • I wish more diesels were in America. But as of right now petrol is still cheaper so diesels havent been seen as a viable alternative to most.

  • Interesting. I have a 03 P71, it isn't the fastest car ive driven lol. How well does it move with the diesel?

  • Awesome man!! I love diesels and a police crovn vic with a diesel engine it dont get better then that lol :-) great job man

  • I would love to see this car run. Also, it would be neat to hear what it sounds like inside. All for diesels. There should be tons of them here in this day and age...

  • we can thank General Motors for the lack of Diesel cars in the US, they killed the US automotive diesel market with the crap-mobile diesel motors.

  • talk about a sleeper lol

  • Is there video of it driving on the road?

  • Check out my other video, Crown Vic with a cummins 4bt diesel walk around, to see the latest setup. I'm still lazy and haven't got around to getting the intercooler on or the intake finalized. Thanks.

  • i would put a powerstroke in her. and go like hell

  • @12valvepower1 7.3 powerstroke is way too big for a crown vic, it barely fits in my f250

  • @youwannahugacactus the 4.5 powerstroke V6 would be good

  • needs a 6bt

  • lmfao... that thing'll prolly get 35mpg on the highway AND pull 12's!

  • Also, is there any more info on this swap? I happen to have a P71 with a blown 4.6...

  • @1999CSVT

It's a 4bt with a rotary injection pump. It started out life in a bread truck. It was a 105hp engine and now it is somewhere around 180hp and 390-410lbs of torque. It now has a hx30w turbo, injectors, gov. spring. I went with a smaller turbo for faster spool and general drive-ability. I average 33mpg with mixed driving. The best so far is 39mpg. The transmission, 47rh, is not conducive for efficiency without modification.

  • @camscustombuilds

Very nice, is there a build page?

  • @camscustombuilds thats pretty good mpg

  • Why a 4BT instead of something bigger?

  • i would put a powerstroke in it. and make it mostly a street rod and straight line car. a 7.3l can still make 300 hp stock. 500 ft lbs torque stock

  • HOLY F*CK!! thats awesome

  • hey its aron u bought my other 6bt from me get ahold of me

  • You should wright what mpg you get in the description, also what truck is the engine from?

  • whats the mpg?

  • PLEASE MAKE MORE VIDS OF UR CAR!!!! REALLY LOOKING FORWARD FOR A VID

  • shoulda just kept the 4.6 in there or swap in a 03 cobra engine

  • @hotrodnickell

    Uhhhhh 4 cylinders...

  • 3 cylinders? Yeah, cool but the gasser would have just a bit more umph. Lol

  • @Hotrodnickell its a four cylinder diesel. the last one is being covered by a hose so its kinda hard to see. i wouldnt be so sure about your "umph" , with all that torque it would probably beat you off the line

  • urgh i hate diesel cars...

  • @weaponexpert1 I hate you.

  • @88gavinm FU

  • @weaponexpert1 Diesel cars hate you too

  • @69IsWin good

  • @weaponexpert1 I hate you too buddy.....I hate you too.....

  • @Andre609 ok

  • @weaponexpert1 You'll be getting fucked in the ass when you purchase a gasoline car, so it'll probably be in your best interest to do so.

  • @Andre609 hahaha ok lil' man

  • truey unique. Thaats for sure. Not mocking diesel cuz i own a german car and i luv newer diesel technology and wish they'd bring more european cars with diesels here instead of these ricers. u have fullsize vehicles getting 40+m.p.g. . The torque and power u get from them is unbelievable but the new clean diesels from europe need to be brought here more. right now mercedes, bmw, Vw, audi have them here and of course u.s. is way behind. Nice vid and thanks..

  • @yankeensouth4u2 I totally agree with you.Its obvious those who run the world have thrown North America infront of the bus.The reality is the diesel fullsize trucks are over priced.Cost of production between a gas and a diesel couldnt justify those prices could they? I need a small diesel truck. But they dont make them. Why not I asked the Georgian Bay GM dealer in Barrie Ontario he agreed with me there is no known answer to my question and my needs in a truck.

  • @yankeensouth4u2 Yes I agree it would be nice if they brought over more diesel cars, but unfortunately, our USA diesel fuel is too dirty for those cars. Fords 6.0l powerstroke uses euro technology in the turbo and it gets clogged from the high carbon deposits left from our diesel fuel.

My brother has a 2002 P71 and we definately put this on the to-do list.

  • @yankeensouth4u2

I work for one of the mentioned european companies and where I work they have another brand you mentioned. There diesels suck and are extremely unreliable especially with the add blue which is a horrible idea. They have catastrophic turbo and complete exhaust (cat) melt downs and the companies blame it on the US desiel funny domestic desiels are 10x more reliable the european and domestic abroad desiels are even better and in everything.

  • @yankeensouth4u2 Why, they wouldn't stay clean long. The tuners and tweekers would have them smoking like a freight train within hours. Look at the pickups, they start out clean diesels, plenty of power and torque with very little if any smoke. First they they do is re-cal the pumps, bolt on a bunch of mods and change control chips and Presto, they smoke like an old R model Mack. They apparently know more than the engine designers and engineers about these engines.

  • is that a cummins

  • DEAR SANTA

  • @Z06BOYZ dear FAGGET. stop coppying and pasting . Thanks a-lot

  • @SuperSnake330CID everybody says that shit . GEE 'DEAR SANTA. man that shit isnt even real why do people say that crap . its so annoying. one says it , the rest jump on the train and start saying it . AAHHHH!

  • BTW, the 2006-2012 Civics can easily keep pace with a V8 powered Crown Vic AND get 39 mpg on the highway. Compared to most modern cars, yours is not only filthy, but also gutless.

  • @idontcare80 Nope. Yer Civics are governed at 130, Police Interceptors are not. Plus there are no production Civics out there that can claim 39mpg. Unless you are looking at the heavier Hybrid model. They CLAIM the 2012 gas powered model should deliver UP TO 41, but they aren't on the streets yet.

I'm not even a Ford guy, but it takes talent to do an engine swap, especially with one that was never meant to be under this hood to begin with. Good job.

  • @nsalaptop Talking about acceleration. My parents owned a 2006 Civic and currently own a 2012 (the 2006 was totaled when some idiot hit it because he wasn't looking), both have gotten over 40 mpg on the highway. The 2006 managed 43 on one trip. Also, the EPA rating for the 2012 Civic is 39 mpg. The 92-95 Civic VX was rated at 50 mpg on the highway. Hell, my ZC powered Civic got over 40 mpg in the city! I've done an engine swap also, see my channel. And yeah, good job ruining your car.

  • @idontcare80 Correction, the ZC powered Civic managed to get almost 40 mpg in the city.

  • @idontcare80 First of all, quit pulling numbers out of thin air. Second, you put a Honda motor into a Honda vehicle. Pretty much plug and play. I will give you props for knowing how use a wrench, but not as impressive as putting a Cummins into an engine bay it had no business being in. And even if all your Civics can manage 35 mpg @ 1/4 throttle on the highway, who wants to drive a Civic? I'd much rather be comfortable towing my camper/boat/anything to the cottage averaging 39 mpg.

  • @nsalaptop The 2012 Civic did just a hair under 40 mpg while traveling 80 mph from Albuquerque to Denver. Both of my parents were in the 2012 with enough luggage for a week stay in CO. This car would never get 39 mpg while towing anything AND it only makes 130 hp (the same as my ZC) so it would be struggling on the highway while towing. No, my swap was not as complex as this one, but I did have to convert the FI system from dual-point to multi-point. The numbers are on Fueleconomy (dot) gov.

  • @idontcare80 Horsepower is only part of the equation, the stock torque on this block is 355 foot pounds. Yer Civic at the most has 100 foot pounds. Driving at a sustained speed, coupled with an overdrive gear, my buddy's 2004 4x4 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins WILL net you an average 22-27 mpg with a trailer without breaking a sweat. Take at least 3000 pounds out and yes I can see 39 mpg while towing with this car. Remember, there is no replacement for displacement when it comes to towing power.

  • @nsalaptop No, there is no replacement for POWER when it comes to towing POWER. A Dodge Ram has a MUCH more powerful engine.

  • @idontcare80 ya, his truck has 330 horsepower and his truck weighs 9000+ pounds. This car has half the power and roughly weighs half of that truck.

  • @nsalaptop Well, you've reminded me that people like you who have very little experience with vehicles that are actually somewhat quick tend to think really gutless vehicles are actually pretty quick. I worked in a shop next to a shop owner who owned a Duramax powered Chevy, he thought it was the fastest thing in the world until I mopped the floor with his truck in my Civic. Perspective makes all the difference in the world for some people and that's why I rely on fact.

  • @idontcare80 Now you are on to another subject. Speed. Diesels aren't meant for that. They are meant to make power to tow/haul. That's why you don't see h22 motors in semi trucks. As per yer buddy with the D-max, he has to be as diluted as you are. Just because your modified civic can go faster on the highway than a stock Duramax, doesn't mean that you could "mop the floor" with one that has, say an engine tuner. Throw in 2 bigger turbos and propane injection...

  • @nsalaptop "he has to be as diluted as you are.". Don't try to speak beyond your station, as it makes it even easier to tell you are a moron. What you wrote means, somehow, that some kind of liquid altered the specific gravity of two people....like adding water to whiskey and diluting it. The word you WANTED to impress with is "deluded", which means to have false ideation. Also, diesel vehicles can be quite fast, but are far more expensive to make so than gas engines.

  • @kenfo0 thanks for the english lesson, and for adding nothing else but an insult to me rather than useful new information to add to this conversation. And fyi, diesel engine obtII programmers run about 5-600 bucks. This investment can net you up to 100 hp and 400 ft/lbs of torque (depending on application). So, your statement:"Also, diesel vehicles can be quite fast, but are far more expensive to make so than gas engines." would be false as well.

  • @ns How to get through your thick sludge of stupidity? You end your post with "false as well". You never mentioned a first "false", dumbass. The English lesson didn't take, sadly. Is it because you are stupid, or just ignorant? When one starts pumping up diesel power, anyone with a brain upgrades several systems, depending upon the mods. When I say "quite fast", I am talking about the trucks you see dragging, beating gassers. Those upgrades cost big bucks. Learn English, it can only help.

  • @kenfo0 To net the same gains with a gasoline fired engine, one would have to spend significantly more. So, before YOU try to "speak beyond YOUR station" again in the future, do a little research. (it's not hard these days, you could Google it) You may learn something.

  • @ns False, you fucking retard. The world is slam full of beater cars, into which one puts a mildly tuned engine, different gearing, tires and exhaust, and viola (that's "wah-lah", you moron), you have a reasonably fast car. Older mustangs are a favorite. I lived in a neighborhood as a kid where a machinist had a series of cars that ran in the high 9's, low 10's that cost practically nothing but his sweat and time. You, on the other hand, must pay someone to "soup up" your scooter, nancy.

  • @kenfo0 @kenfo0 Probably just ignorant...I didn't care for your tone, so I responded as such.

As for the upgrades, a bullydog tuner will give you enough power/torque to beat most gassers out there, once again, your grasp on the language far exceeds your knowledge of vehicles. But keep the high school level insults coming, I enjoy them.

  • @nsalaptop I dunno.... maybe... Heavy car with a heavy engine... I'd expect some good 12s or 13s though.. if everything is better than what I'm thinking

  • @nsalaptop ah, i see the problem now: you are one of those stupid, loud-mouthed, trolling, shut-in cannucks. You live in your mommy's basement and sit online 24/7, an expert on everything in your own mind, but a retard to the rest of the world, as you've never been anywhere nor achieved anything. Feel free to shut up now, you disgrace. You are stupid, you choose to be that way, and it is of no interest to me.

  • @kenfo0 bahaha, you are funny, you have never met me, know nothing about me (or basic mechanics for that matter) and yet are spewing insults left right and centre.

If you knew anything about building power, you would know that the cheapest way to go these days is with computer programmers. Building a mustang costs thousands more in parts and tuning to get the same power bands as a diesel. Call your buddy the machinist or your mechanic to confirm what I am telling you.

  • @nsaLiars and stupid people are wordy, as are you. I know all about you. You are stupid (I hit that square on the head...you admitted it).You then go on making up nonsense to pretend worth is measured by worldly things.I own lots of "stuff".I have no need to list anything, because I am a "Man". My value is not tied up in those things. So now we know you choose not only ignorance, but immorality and immaturity. Choose something better for yourself. Don't spam me again, I'll delete them all.

  • @kenfo0 You made a false statement about me, and I corrected you.

BTW How does me being successful make me immoral?

  • @nsalaptop And yet I made NO false statement about you. I said you are stupid, which is clear from your posts contents. In response, you tried to list financial assets (which is laughable). Being a LIAR makes you immoral, dummy. You have made one ridiculous statement after another (der deesulz kost les than gas injuns). Just run along, silly kid. You were outed and have nothing to say.

  • @kenfo0 you are right about one thing, I have nothing more to say to you; besides these two words.

    Seek help.

  • @nsalaptop again, dummy: I don't need help, but you CLEARLY do, as I have factually outlined. You have made absurd statements that are clearly not true, followed by "eyem knot stoopid cuz eye beye stuff an ewe shud bee impressd.". Hopefully this ends your wasteful spam campaign, stupid, angry little grade school dropout.

  • @kenfo0 as per my living accommodations, I own 2 properties at the moment. And I left home @ 15. I also run my own business, and build my own vehicles for fun. As I told the other gentleman earlier on, I am in the middle of an engine swap in my little car right now. What have you built to date?

  • @kenfo0 I also never finished high school, so that could explain why I misspell a word here and there :) Luckily, I pay people under me to check my professional e-mails and letterheads before I send them out.

  • @kenfo0 You actually sound like what you just said... nsalaptop actually made alot more sense than you did.

  • @Andre609 hey dumbass: 1. no one asked you. 2. i stated a fact, at which that douchebag starts making up "eyem leyek, soopur rich". That makes sense to you because....TADA: you are an idiot. Feel free to STFU now, you dope.

  • @nsalaptop It's hilarious how much people think they know about diesels and are trying to argue simple facts, dont worry man when they see their bills pile up with a gasoline car they will probably think it's normal. As for kenfool he has nothing to show for let the kid accomplish one small thing in his life I feel sorry for someone who thinks he's king of all arguments and has no idea what he's typing about. Diesel just rapes there's no if's and's or but's.

  • @idontcare80 besides, we're not debating hp/tq. we're debating mpg. THIS engine in THIS car would easily get 39 mpg on the highway with a trailer.

  • @nsalaptop Prove it.

  • @idontcare80 ..and both you and your Civic will be a distant memory. As for "relying on facts" Neither you or I can say what exactly this car can do because we didn't build it or drive it.

  • @nsalaptop Actually, that engine was completely stock (except for the intake) and it was available in the same Civics that were sold in Japan and Europe. My Civic was faster at ALL speeds. And yeah, with enough modification, that Chevy could have been somewhat quick.

What do computers have to do with fuel costs?

  • @idontcare80 I apologize, I thought you were running that K24 motor against him. Diesels like this one with no computer are much more adaptable to running Bio-Diesel that you can either buy these days, or make your own with used veggie oil. This will be my next project after we rent out this house in the burbs and move out to more space in the country. I have no more real estate available to dedicate for more cars/trucks ATM.

  • @idontcare80 FYI, I've built Honda motors, Chevy motors and am in the beginning stages of an L67 swap in my little car just to name a few. ;)

  • @idontcare80 and since there are no computers, buddy can do this for next to nothing in fuel costs.

  • @idontcare80 before you jump to conclusions, the 3.9lire 4bt Cummins isn't that much different than the 5.9litre version.

  • @idontcare80 ...besides the fact if you put more than 1 person in that Civic of yours, let alone the groceries in the trunk (as that is what those cars are engineered to do) your mpg will drop substantially.

  • prolly the most practical and bad ass thing ive ever seen i want one really bad

  • make more vids please!!!!

  • What kind of engine is that?

  • THAT IS JUST SICK!!! THE SOUND MAKES IT FEEL LIKE A BEAST

  • is this a joke??

  • this is one of those "da fuck?" moments

  • no ac

  • I want one

  • god i love this cummins its a 3.9 four cylinder should have around 130 HP and 400 foot pounds of torque these things are fuckin beasty and also now 4 people own a prius

  • that sounds like a cummins

  • @jakethesnake121394 it is a cummins

  • @jakethesnake121394 it is a cummins

  • damn that's sick! how was the power?

  • be funny if that belonged to the CHP

  • Id rather push a Ford then Drive a prius!

  • @bowhuntersp i'd rather carry a horse...

  • Nice 4BT conversion, however it's really sad to see all that work go into a project like this when there is absolutely no getting around the fact that you look like a total low life looser driving around in an ex police car!

  • that's f*king awesome, good job to who ever built that!

  • Saweeet!

  • What police department was that made for?

  • Is this an in-house or contracted project done by FoMoCo, or is it an owner's private conversion? What sort of added weight does it impose? How is the heat through the firewall and floorboard on long trips in hot weather (I had a 4BT in an E350, and it would bake most people)? Got any "road test" results (acceleration, handling, braking)? This is WAY too cool to not have the info....

  • congratulations you are an inteligent person.

  • Nice sounding engine. How about going for a drive?

  • Great stuff. Women secretly prefer economical men. More money for them! ;¬)

  • fuckin sick car

  • Please create a blog with spec pictures.

Example: Underneath the car and all around the engine.

  • Diesel is better than petrol engine.Burns less fuel and has more torque but it has sound stupid. In Europe 50% of cars have diesel engines under the hood.

  • Remote Start?

  • SICK swap. I'd love to see some detailed info on the build up. I have been building a Cummins powered K30 and most people have no idea the amount of fabrication that goes into one of these swaps. Putting a 4bt into a car seems like it would be a lot tighter fit therefore more of a PITA. Nice work!

  • Get a proper paper air filter and housing. Those cotton/mesh efforts are a waste of time, do not filter to the standard of a paper one, have a tiny surface area 13times smaller than paper ones and cause a lot of damage. They block faster which reduces performance and causes black smoke. You have it positioned to suck in hot air from the engine which reduces efficiency. Apart from that major problem/mistake with sandblasting the engine/turbo, it looks quite good as a conversion!

  • man a crown vic (very nice car) and a cummins 4BT (damn nice engine i got one) damn awsome combo i wanted to do the same now i really want to do it thanks for sharing

  • wow! love it

  • 3.9 4 barrel cummins. right? like the way it is thumb up.

  • 3.9 4 barrel cummins. right?

  • Exactly - they've all just put old digger or lorry engines in. Better economy, durability, torque and make your own fuel. Why not?

  • Seriously America, embrace the diesel engine. I live in the UK and my 2002 1.9L four-pot Skoda gets a cracking 75mph highway (about 62 in US gallons). Suck on that pious Prius.

  • I'll will take some video soon. The exhaust now goes to the bumper and is 4". 47rh 2wd auto 4 speed with lock up. Once again, reliability and mileage. Oh yeah, I can tow a boat or car. Best highway mpg, 39.5!

  • YOUVE RUINED IT!!!!

  • Not like it was a classic camaro, its just a vic, relax

  • @camscustombuilds yeah what do you think most of the old American cars in Cuba run with? theyre almost all diesel powered.

  • @camscustombuilds I would rather destroy a Camaro. I like Crown Vics too much.

  • @EnterMyUserNameHere naww man he made an awsome car awsomer and gave it a more reliable fuel sorce and better fuel econimy (its better then the prius who sead that hibreds are better on fuel there actually worse in many cases

  • @animexp No, he ruined what was a brilliant car. He took out what made it a V8 Rocket, and turned it into a 4 door with a canal boat motor. Now that viccy would be luckey to keep up with a V6 Mercedes. That V8 doesn't get bad mileage for what it is. I understand how bad Hybrids are, and how we should be running more diesels. Heck, I own 2. As for reliability, yes diesels are very reliable. But, they cost a fortune to fix. Injectors alone for a duramax can cost thousands of dollars.

  • @EnterMyUserNameHere well heres an idea lets get a cat v8 and stick it in there and then lets have some powerful fun

  • @EnterMyUserNameHere Well for a start Duramax is an inherently less-reliable engine, the 4bt is essentially a digger/light truck engine that is expected to work for thousands of hours and or hundreds of thousands of miles respectively. Parts like fuel injectors and pumps only break in extreme circumstances, and overwhelmingly in consumer-error scenarios such as running on dirty fuel. In Europe PACCAR specs some of its 7.5t trucks with 180hp 4cyl B-series with over twice the torque of the 4.6 V8.

  • didn't you have to make some significant suspension modifications? From what I understand, a 4BT weighs about twice as much as a small block ford if not more.

  • exhaust below rear door isnt that illegal

  • @jeepcherokeejer

thats only if it is a station wagon..at least here in delaware its like that

  • What about engine vibrations at idle? Are they acceptable?

  • what did you use for a trans?

  • damn that's cool.

  • Black smoke doesn’t mean its broke

  • @x1pyroveride Black smoke is only horsepower you can see but it's too late to use - plus it kills mosquitoes!

  • i put a 4bt in a 70s ford 4 door truck at work and it kicks ass

  • yeah them engine are awsome

  • wow that is sick nice job man you should post some more vids of driving around

  • 1 person owns a prius

  • @willistilis I think a few more people than that own them, let's hope they get psychiatric help for buying 20 year old technology. No one buys them here in the UK as diesel cars are half the price, faster, cheaper to insure/tax/service...with the price of electric and poor MPG on a prius - they are useless. I get 50MPG in the town on a 1.6 ford focus diesel turbo, 0-60MPH in 10s and 72MPG at a steady 70MPH on the motorway. All he needs now is a proper air filter and housing to prevent damage.

  • Wow that is probably the best thing i have ever seen...

  • Can you please tell me what transmission you have bolted up behind this 4bt? Thanks! Great project for fuel economy
