I didn't grow up believing in Santa either. To me, he was just a fun character in stories. My mother figured it would too much work to keep up the charade. For my siblings, Santa was as much fun for them as it was for their kids.

I recently had a comment dispute with shock on one of his christian friend's channels (he blocked me when I contacted him directly). He accused me of being psychotic like the shooter in Arizona. I than said he had no right to say that because of the mass murders and genocides christianity has commited. He then said Hitler was atheist which I responded that he wasn't and he was in fact a christian. It was at this point that his friend blocked me and deleted all my comments.

He did the same thing for me, i happened to discuss something in a video about Santa that had nothing to do with god, and he said I had Santa syndrome. I sent him an actual Video I had made months prior called "Why I'm not angry at Santa" And I never heard from the moron again.
As a child, I believed in both Santa and God. Of the two, I could say I have more "evidence" of Santa's existence, because while God never answered a single prayer, I did get a stocking every year without fail.
Compared to Santa, God's an asshole. Santa Claus is the pure embodiment of kindness, generosity, and love. He doesn't want you to worship him, he doesn't care what you believe, he doesn't even need thanks. Santa's fucking awesome.

I stopped believing in Santa at about 7 or 8. I stopped believing in god at about 14 and Santa never crossed my mind. It was the bible that made me see god wasn't real.
I can't remember believing in Santa. When I was almost two, my parents had my grandfather dress up like Santa. Since Santa smelled like my grandfather, I just thought it was my grandfather giving me presents, in different clothes. I dressed up as Santas helper once, to fool a kid in the neighborhood of my parents house. Much more believable.

What was amazing for me though is what happened when I tried to post a comment. the comment went something like “why don’t you link his video?” his response to this (all within one minute) was to not allow my comment, leave a comment on my profile saying he will cure me of Santa syndrome and then sent me footage of two men kissing. No joke, unfortunately. When I asked him why he didn’t reply.
I've got an idea for a project, how about a few of us atheists get together and make a fake theist account, and launch (crappy) criticisms like crazy! Get theists following us, and then one day, have a big reveal video where we get to mock them for being so gullible, and use this channels existence as further proof that they don't scrutinize what they believe at all.

However, the question being asked isn't about a persons subjective beliefs; it's about the objective existance of the claim. At the objective level there is no difference between whether Santa exists or whether God does; it's merely a question of the evidence or lack thereof.

What I am talking about is objective fact. Fact does not care about belief; fact does not care about how 'important' you think the claim is; fact only cares about what the evidence demonstrates to be true. At that level claims regarding God and Sanata are infact equal.

Maybe some people fall into the category of "shockofgod's trolls" or whatever, but most of us don't. Just because some of us have the same religious beliefs doesn't mean we are "his followers" or "his trolls." With the said, there are some things he has said that I *get ready* do not agree with. *gasp* The problem with the Santa syndrome is that while it may apply in some cases, "some" is the key word. I think he is trying to use it as too big a sweeping generalization.

I can't remember believing in Santa. When I was almost two, my parents had my grandfather dress up like Santa. Since Santa smelled like my grandfather, I just thought it was my grandfather giving me presents, in different clothes. I dressed up as Santas helper once, to fool a kid in the neighborhood of my parents house. Much more believable.

I've got an idea for a project, how about a few of us atheists get together and make a fake theist account, and launch (crappy) criticisms like crazy! Get theists following us, and then one day, have a big reveal video where we get to mock them for being so gullible, and use this channels existence as further proof that they don't scrutinize what they believe at all.
That sounds fun, but a lot of work too.

Nobody has ever said to me 'I used to believe in Santa Claus but realised he was not real, therefore God does not exist either'. Pure strawman. I know PLENTY of people that point out that Santa and the JudeoChristian deity are on equal footing as regards evidential support but nobody seriously says 'I don't believe in god because Santa does not exist. A challenge I would put to Shock is to find these legendary people.

Actually, he has Tooth Fairy Syndrome - he found that the Tooth Fairy didn't exist, and so immediately assumed Santa didn't exist either. As a result he refuses to see all the obvious evidence scattered everywhere that Santa exists. He's just bitter that the Tooth Fairy doesn't exist.
