thanks for replying! i asked because this piece reminded me of "Nata" by Shakti, which is in Nattai, the analogous (kind of) Carnatic raag to Jog. There is a youtube clip of Nata by Shakti at the Pori Jazz Festival featuring a burning violin solo by L Shankar. Check it out!

Ah !! Ive been looking for this tune for a really long time. You'd be surprised I used to play this song in the morning and my grandma approved of it instaneously. She is a tough critic and has been singing carnatic for almost 35 years now. I've enjoyed your music. I wish you the very best. Humble request, is there someway I can get this song an an mp3 ? Yeah.that's true.but pl listen to their fantastic compositions on Raag JOG ,HAMSADHWANI..DARBARI..MEGH...­ADANA or evn to IRISH FOLK & to such complex talas as "6 & hf"/9/13.I think after SHAKTI..I really haven't heard any band trying all these complex stuff with such perfection.Have you heard SUBHEN ji( Grammy nominated tabla player & their frontman)jamming with ace percussionist SIVAMANI? Try searching "FRIENDS OF DRUMS".this is another exposive stuff from both of them.

BANDISH FUSION : by K A R M A : the fusion band was incidentally formed way back in 1985.....so what Mrigaya & the likes are doing today...K A R M A had done 20 odd years ago....& they are all TOP musicians of India ..
