BP needs to look! Great job of capping your gusher. As far as pressure buildup, it's completely possible. This is one of the problems with the Gulf undersea gusher. A more permanent fix would be an elbow pipe same diameter with the rubber fitting and a valve. When you attach the short pipe to the well with the rubber piece, you can attach the elbow and then an open gate valve. Shut the valve, and attach permanent pipe to the wellhead. NOW, you can encase the wellhead in cement, fixing it good.
@micmdaaussie Thanks very much for the suggestion! That definitely seems like a more permanent fix, as we are concerned about the degradation of the rubber with time.
@jaryH3 We were concerned about that, too, at first. But the drain sleeve fits TIGHT around that pipe, and will not blow off. Our only concern is that with the degradation of the rubber with time, it may be prone to cracking and eventually coming apart.
@HurricaneTeen I just though that even the flow is not too big due to friction in the transport path, very big pressure can build up after closing the cap. This is probably not the case of this well.
If the cap is still there until now, then it is good job and will probably last long. Thanks for sharing.
good job!

@Wallabydam
Thanks! From looking at your videos, it seems that we would get along. I like the homemade air conditioner.

I would say that the cap can blow out if the pressure can build too high, which is quite likely.
