  • sounds like she is great love her playin wish i could have made an orange guitar with a tiger paw shaped hole so i could switch from my baby blue finder to it

  • このおばちゃんプロ?上手い!

  • i could watch this again and again-enjoyed it! max

  • Ma'am, that was a splendid piece. I'm glad to have heard it. Thank You!

  • WTF if any of you fools did any research you'd know Dixie is a talented guitar luthier and I am pretty sure she is playing one of her guitars. Also WTF with the elderly bit? So does that make her handicapped or something?

  • Search dixie michelle for more recent recordings: St. Louis Tickle, Hesitation Blues, Cannonball Blues, and Deep River Blues.

  • yes. that's true. Maybelle played almost every song in the C position (often using her capo).

when are ya going to post new songs?

I love your jazz guitar pickin - I do the very same style on my 1946 jazz guitar. It's a handmade one from the first fair in germany after Worldwar II. my guitar teacher gave it to me. I think Poor Ellen Smith, At the first fall of snow, Follow me back to the fold or maybe Travelling the highway home would sound very nice with your singin&pickin.

  • Just came across here Max, I posted a few more. So you have a '46 jazz guitar? Awesome!

  • nice but not Maybelle's 100% style.

the first point - it's no jazz guitar and no Gibson 1928 L-5

  • I agree Max, this is a variation of "Travis Picking", great job, though Maybelle always stayed "close to home"lol!

  • Play it Grandma! And I mean that with all due respect!

  • i loved the interpretation dixie! just wondering as a newbie to fingerpicking whether dixie dampens the 3 bass strings, and whether shes playing a nylon string guitar? thanks

  • Perhaps you should read the description a bit closer!

The player is "Dixie Michelle", the title may be a tad bit misleading if read incorrectly, but it's simply saying it's a song by Mother Maybelle!

  • definatly not Maybelle ... but nice

  • Guys, this is not Mother Maybelle! Mother Maybelle passed away many years ago. This is just a great elderly guitarist :)

  • I love it. 5*****

    This is great playing!

  • Mother Mabelle Carter is a wonder on that guitar and my first guitar arrives Tuesday..Dang I'm goin to learn to play by hook or by crook..I'll be 60 in a year..but ask me if I care!!! Mabelle you are inspirin my dear..RIP..

  • This is Johnny Cash's mother-in-law, Maybelle Carter. She's not with us today, but she had some amazing talent. I'm a huge fan, and I wish music being made now had this much heart put into it.

  • That is Chet's older daughter.

  • Pretty sure thats not Maybelle Carter. Great playing still!!!

  • CHICKS RULE,,,ESPECIALLY GRANDMA CHICKS! Great video ,,, Thanks!

  • she definitely plays well

  • That was great. I remember as a child being raised with the music of The Original Carter Family. My mother loved their music.

  • nice nice nice... i love you sound...

  • I would like to come to this age with this vitality.

    I like "Victory Rag" sounds.
