when you istall it, but you can always back up your data on a flash drive. Once you get linux on your ps3 then you will be able to save both ps3 data and linux data. plus saving everything is about 5 megs of space so... it's well worth it and all your ps3 settings are still saved without even needing to back anything up.

ps3= uncharted drakes fortune, resistance fall of man, warhawk. 360= gears of war, mass effect, frontlines. wii = super mario galaxy (great but mario 64 was better), super smash bros brawl, zelda, mario kart and you still wonder which company is still rehashing 20 year old ips? lol. get lost kid. the wii blows. sold my wii recently, best thing i have done. enjoy your rehashes and coutless library of shovelware. i will be playing prototype, fallout, and left 4 dead.
