  • I thought Otis Redding did a version of this...please correct meif I am wrong...thanks

  • I think I have to change my mind. No disrespect to "Lady Marmalade," but THIS is likely the best song ever recorded about a woman in the ancient and honorable profession of prostitution.

  • OC Smith has the pathos in his voice that makes this song so special.

Thank you for uploading this, and kudos for the beautiful job you did with the video.

  • I love this song

  • I don't quite know just what it is about this fantastic song .. but, man, it grabbed me the minute I first heard it back in the 60s. And the inherent magic in this song has never left my affection for it. O.C. Smith gives this song special feeling with his gifted range of voice .. and sings with PASSION. Maybe that's the secret. Also .. it TELLS A TERRIFIC STORY / TALE .. well told.

  • @colindominy I was 15 when this song first appeared in 1968. It grabbed me, too - instantly.

  • One well put together vid!

  • Memories of me and the lads drinking in THe Willington (Micky's) Pub

  • but thanks the Lord for Brenda!!

  • @BeachMusicLvr Richard...later in O.C.'s career he "found a home" with the beach music scene with songs like "Brenda" and many others...I'd love to know how all of that came about...Lanny (Nocaro)
