The difference between good players like Matt. compared to myself is that good players won't go for the obvious move on sight. I'd have taken with Knight on d2 and fork on b3 without thinking twice =(
banda u r nuts, what 2 knights, 1 would have been exchanged anyway, if his opponent wasnt on drugs. his opponent played without logic. i liked his other game more, were he plays the veresow, even so i read its bad opening. BUT I LOVE GREENCASTLES ENDGAME VIDS, I KNOW THEY ARE SIMPLE BUT HOW HE PRESENTS THE POSSIBILITIES WAS FUN. HOPE HE DOES MORE- THE SMYSLOV EXAMPLE WAS ENTERTAING
@trixapete I think taking the exchange would give white more chances then he would have had otherwise. The two knights are doing fantastic in the middle of the board while the rook on a1 and d2 knight are arguably whites two worst pieces so I agree with GCB's decision entirely to hold off on winning that exchange. Material isn't everything, you know.
As stonerftw94 has mentioned you sound a little like Jerry from the ChessNetwork! :) You both have this analytical approach and explain a lot of the basic ideas behind the opening moves. That's very good for low-level amateur players like me. I appreciated your video very much. Thank you.
thx 4 beating him, he blocked me, because i asked him y people would want to watch him do chesstempo tactics 4 2 hours. pretty nice game, but wasnt taking on d2 stronger?
@IBOUGHTYAMOM um, this was not KC, just a guy from KC's room on chesscube. Also, taking on d2 won an exchange, but removes both of Black's knights. I judged it wasn't worth it. I don't equate winning material with 'stronger' in all cases.
@IBOUGHTYAMOM Kingscrusher blocked me too, I don't even know why he blocked me. He said that he didn't like my tone (or the like) in my comments. I apologized and everything and even said i wouldn't comment on the videos, just let me subscribe and watch the videos, but no response.
Great game and great commentary. I reckon you and Jerry from ChessNetwork should have a couple of games and both commentate on them - that would be very interesting :)
Clean win :o. I play much more single mindedly and I think I don't fully understand the intricate importance of center control and piece placement. I'm more of a reactionary player, inexperienced, and I think I need to start understanding these underlying themes to progress. Normally my midgame/endgame is solid but with only basic positioning strategy I lose a lot of ground in the beggining.
It's sometimes hard to keep up, but I appreciate the commentary.
Hey dude, I'll play you sometime? my handle is Kaiza17 (:

nice use of themes from the Na6 kings indian. I think it won you the game there. he didn't seem very familiar with what you were doing.
