Theclint88, they might not, but was this even a penalty in the case where tennessee could kick again? I think it was a Dead-Ball foul, but I could be mistaken, but the fact is, Colt McCoy didn't lead his team to that victory over Nebraska, Nebraska did that to themselves, and yes Texas did capitalize, and made the play they needed to make. But what I do recall is Colt rolling out like he did and JUST got the ball off in-time, IMO that was not champion-like. Nor Heisman like.
Just like the Alabama/Tennessee game, Alabama had a signifigant lead that entire game, and if those redzone problems were straightened out, Bama might have won that game 20-3, But no. Ingram gets the ball stripped by 4 players at the 50 and Tennessee gets to make two huge plays to linger, and not only that but to actually have a chance to win the game.
However those two late penalty's against Nebraska, if they were never called, who's to say Texas would be in the national title?

Well, injuries kind of hurt OU's chances, Nebraska's been tough, even Mizzou had a good season, But Texas was the only undefeated...Alot of it had to do with the B12 beating up on eachother! TTU beating OU, OSU beat TTU, OU beating OSU, A&M beat TTU, Iowa St. beat Nebraska, Texas beating everybody haha, say what you want, but the B12 is solid, mainly the B12 south, but they have to prove it in the post season. I believe they have 8 Bowl eligible teams...
You're kind of understating what happened to OU this year. The SEC does the same thing to eachother and is something like 42-6 out of conference. We have 10 teams in bowl games(everyone but Vandy and miss st) that B12 south was aweful in the bowls last season, so I'm looking for them to rebound well

Not saying that they aren;t a good team don't get me wrong. I think they have the potential to make it to the NC and win but... I'm a Husker fan, and I don't really feel that Texas' offense has really had a challenge. It's going to take our defense's biggest game and were going to have to run it a shit ton. I think Husker's have a really good chance if we come prepared, bumped up, confident, and ready to hit. Hopefully we can expect Zach to actually complete some fucking passes.

I think you're wrong to compare Tebow to Colt Mccoy. Colt's a very good player but he isn't on Tebows level. 2 national championships and a heisman trophy can confirm that. Chris Leak won the BCS title but Tim Tebow was a big part of that offence. Florida has more losses then Texas because the SEC is a stronger conference overall then the Big 12. Every other week Florida has a tough opponent, LSU, Ten, Ole Miss, Georgia. Texas has cake walked through an easy schedule, not their fault, nor am I trying to say they are soft, but I would be interested to see how the Red River would've went if OU/Sam Bradford were healthy.
That's a good point but OSU probably shouldn't of been in that game to begin with. A national championship where one team beats the other by 3+ touchdowns is a mistake. A weak big10 (Michigan was their only challenge) got OSU into the title game. My point is if you were to ask me who to take between Tebow or Colt I would take Tebow because of the dual threat he presents that at this level can carry a team and he definitly deserves the praise as one of the best ever. Texas will destroy Nebraska. Nebraska has a fantastic defense but no offense to their name. And the SEC teams have chinks in their armor. They are not unstoppable. Whoever makes it to the NC game with Texas (my money's on Florida), it's going to be a bloodbath.

I know Mack Brown and defintely Will Muschamp will have his team ready on Saturday. If there is a Florida Texas National Championship I hope the media heaps praises on Florida. I will root for Texas against the SEC teams, but I got to be honest....Texas should be questioned right now. They are ranked #3 and gave up 500 yards of total offense to A&M. I wish TCU had the chance to play Texas, but too bad it won't happen because I believe that this year's TCU team can and would beat this year's Texas team. TCU is the most balanced team in college football.

His defense kept them scoreless in the second half of the '06 game and the first half of '07, and those were some damn good teams. With Florida being somewhat inconsistent this year with their offense, I think Texas has enough athletes on defense to make it a great matchup.

I think the main reason the media loves Tebow is due to all the hardware. A hesiman and NC speak for themselves. Colt hasn't garnered any of these team or individual awards, so the media doesn't care. The winningest quarterback ever is a nice accomplishment, in this age of schools padding their schedule to manufacture wins the media says that that isn't a real accomplishment. But it is. Hopefully Colt takes the Heisman and the title and shuts everyone up. This will carry into the NFL for sure...

Just like the Alabama/Tennessee game, Alabama had a signifigant lead that entire game, and if those redzone problems were straightened out, Bama might have won that game 20-3, But no. Ingram gets the ball stripped by 4 players at the 50 and Tennessee gets to make two huge plays to linger, and not only that but to actually have a chance to win the game.

Well, injuries kind of hurt OU's chances, Nebraska's been tough, even Mizzou had a good season, But Texas was the only undefeated...Alot of it had to do with the B12 beating up on eachother! TTU beating OU, OSU beat TTU, OU beating OSU, A&M beat TTU, Iowa St. beat Nebraska, Texas beating everybody haha, say what you want, but the B12 is solid, mainly the B12 south, but they have to prove it in the post season. I believe they have 8 Bowl eligible teams...

TTU can be good, it just depends what team shows up, & Nebraska is scary good on defense. Let's see if they can win a game of FG, because they almost pulled it off vs. Texas. Not saying that they aren;t a good team don't get me wrong. I think they have the potential to make it to the NC and win but... I'm a Husker fan, and I don't really feel that Texas' offense has really had a challenge. It's going to take our defense's biggest game and were going to have to run it a shit ton. I think Husker's have a really good chance if we come prepared, bumped up, confident, and ready to hit. Hopefully we can expect Zach to actually complete some fucking passes.

And OU missed a field goal and lost by 3. Anyways Nebraska dismantled OUs offense and they have the best defense in the Big 12. i think Texas will fold. Nebraska could pull off the upset cause they've been on fire lately. TCU vs. Bama baby. Lol. But if Tebow wins Heisman i will lose much respect for the award and will probly not take it seriously for a long time. that is until an OU player wins it. ha jk. okay im a huge OU homer and hate Texas... but i too am sick and tired of hearing about Tim Tebag. HE SUCKS!! He has 8,556 total career passing yards and has played QB at Florida since he was a freshman. Sam Bradford who has only played 2 seasons in his career has 8,403... one more game or even a whole game against Texas or BYU and he'd have better career stats than Tebow. Tebow has 84 career TD's... Bradford has 88. And Colt McCoy has more wins in his 4 years than Tebow.

Tebow is only a 3-year starter for one...and two, you're just pissed because he and the Gators beat your OU. If Tebow had started all 4 years, you'd be singing a different tune. Don't forget tebow also won an award for dramatic arts in making himself believable when he loses.. XD The fact is Florida has to play Cincy, and their fans might want to pay more attention to that game than worrying about how Texas struggled against Nebraska and use those as a reference to make an argument.. The best conference doesn't mean you are competitive with teams in your conference. It means the teams in that conference are better than teams in other conferences, and most SEC teams are better than most other teams in the nation. It means Saturdays are more than football, and SEC has traditions, rivalries, and atmospheres that cannot be matched by any conference. So you have to understand when people suck off the SEC there is a reason, because it's the best in every category.

Actually, no you don't know that yet. We will not know how good the SEC is in 2009 until after all of the bowl games are played and analyze their record. I will give you that the SEC was the best conference in 2008, though.

I think you're wrong to compare Tebow to Colt Mccoy. Colt's a very good player but he isn't on Tebows level. 2 national championships and a heisman trophy can confirm that. As far as who would win betwen Texas and Florida, i don't think a florida victory is a sure thing. And I can understand your frustration with the media being so down on Texas and not Alabama.

Chris Leak won the BCS title but Tim Tebow was a big part of that offence. Florida has more losses then Texas because the SEC is a stronger conference overall then the Big 12. Every other week Florida has a tough opponent, LSU, Ten, Ole Miss, Georgia. Texas has cake walked through an easy schedule, not their fault, nor am I trying to say they are soft, but I would be interested to see how the Red River would've went if OU/Sam Bradford were healthy.

That's a good point but OSU probably shouldn't of been in that game to begin with. A national championship where one team beats the other by 3+ touchdowns is a mistake. A weak big10 (Michigan was their only challenge) got OSU into the title game. My point is if you were to ask me who to take between Tebow or Colt I would take Tebow because of the dual threat he presents that at this level can carry a team and he definitly deserves the praise as one of the best ever. Colt's just a very good QB.

Texas will destroy Nebraska. Nebraska has a fantastic defense but no offense to their name. And the SEC teams have chinks in their armor. They are not unstoppable. Whoever makes it to the NC game with Texas (my money's on Florida), it's going to be a bloodbath.

all teams play diffrerernt against other teams cuz of the way each team's playbook and team is designed. some games are closer for that reason. but all in all the games will decide what happens and we will never know our "what if's"

I know Mack Brown and defintely Will Muschamp will have his team ready on Saturday. If there is a Florida Texas National Championship I hope the media heaps praises on Florida. It will be like 2005 all over again. I still remember ESPN comparing the great teams to the 2005 USC and USC had won 2 straight National Championships before that. In the end, Texas with Vince Young took care of business and own.

I will root for Texas against the SEC teams, but I got to be honest....Texas should be questioned right now. They are ranked #3 and gave up 500 yards of total offense to A&M. I wish TCU had the chance to play Texas, but too bad it won't happen because I believe that this year's TCU team can and would beat this year's Texas team. TCU is the most balanced team in college football.

I'm sure you already knew this CowboyTD, but Will Muschamp has Florida's number, at least when he was at Auburn. His defense kept them scoreless in the second half of the '06 game and the first half of '07, and those were some damn good teams. With Florida being somewhat inconsistent this year with their offense, I think Texas has enough athletes on defense to make it a great matchup.

I've noticed TV people loving Nebraska too. They always say they have a great D, which they do, but they fail to account for Nebraska having no offense. They could very well be shut out.
As for the sort of bias against the horns, its not too bad, because media hype just puts more pressure and stress on you to perform. Which is not always good.

I think the main reason the media loves Tebow is due to all the hardware. A hesiman and NC speak for themselves. Colt hasn't garnered any of these team or individual awards, so the media doesn't care. The winningest quarterback ever is a nice accomplishment, in this age of schools padding their schedule to manufacture wins the media says that that isn't a real accomplishment. But it is. Hopefully Colt takes the Heisman and the title and shuts everyone up. This will carry into the NFL for sure...
