All talk ye are.....when ye have as many international competitions under yer belts like this amazing woman does then maybe ye could even start 2 consider critising her?
@aerzte91 if a swishing tail means a horse is unhappy then ur saying that all dressage horses arent happy becaus they all swish their tails like that.....
I went to windsor dressage show in 2009 and in the collecting ring , as always Anky was using rolkur method. I dont only hate the method, but that she was in public view and in camera view but noone dare tell her what shes doing is cruel and wrong . Just because shes an international dressage rider does NOT mean shes the queen . Someone needs to tell her shes wrong.
That will be a hopeless attempt, she already won so many titles that she is convinced to be the best. Even her coach is proud to be the inventive genius of the ROLLKUR.

The main problem at dressage shows is not bad riding, but incompetent or ignorant judges. As long as they reward stressed and struggling horses, instead of a calm and natural dynamic movement, nothing will change, and conflicting signals given by the riders to urge their horses forward with the legs and keep restraining through the bit, will lead a lot more horses to frustration and neurosis.
wow jacmeespie! you obviously dont know about proper collection and tension in the reins. this is the most proper and ideal style of riding. I barrel race, yet in practice, i work on dressage, with proper collection. my barrel horse very obviously benefits from it, AND IT IS NOT CRUEL IN ANY WAY!!!!! Beating horses and jerking on their face is cruel. collection is not

(no matter if curb-bit or snafle-bit) The most proper collection is only obtained by correctly practiced shoulder-in, croup-in and piaffe. All other kind of collection is a fake.
As you notice, bad horseriding is still rewarded at international horse shows
Note the tension in both pairs of reins. The one thing that can be guaranteed is a 'hot' mouth and a pain in the neck. This represents cruel and unusual punishment for an animal that has done no wrong. However Mrs Anky van Grunsven may justify her riding, this is neck-overbending and represents cruelty to animals

How can you people think this is beautiful it's cruel, how would you like to have a metal bit yanked around in your mouth and your head pulled down to your chest?! Its PAIN NOT BEAUTY!!!!!

@KristinaS100 when you train your horse slowly and it`s old enough to do this, then its not cruel. rider like anky van grnsven, patrick kittel and a few ohers, they train their horses with rollkur/hyperflexion thats cruel
