  • I haven't heard this song for 23 years. Thanks for uploading this. The last time I heard this song I was 17 and had a lot of questions for this world. Today I listen to it with a lot of answers but the song never changed.

  • oh ja i was a young girl in Spain in France - I am old now - but when I hear this - tears apppering my cheet - greatings from vienna Austria

  • goddamn lets smoke weed all day and fly to a distant place in another age with this song as backing track

  • But why they don't put it this on radio than JB or shit like that ???I wish I were teenager in 70's, just for the music

  • me quedo sin palabras, que música Dios uuuufff

  • Is this just an extract from a saucerful of secrets?

  • here the truth

  • This is the song I'll listen to when my death comes!

  • @realyodaad Itll be a glorious death indeed my friend

  • Same as "1981Badfish" my Dad was into this but in my case mom was with it too. When getting older i always recognised a track by melody as i thought it was the first time i played it i knew what was comming.. probably when i was an embryo this went as "echoes" trough moms little belly ;)

So in this case i'm born with.. and this is THE track that will be played when i leave/left this earth.. Doesn't matter if it's the live or studio version..

    PF

  • Thanks to my father, I grew up with this, even though I was only born in 81. Still today, I can't help listening to it again and again. There're so much things and feelings that come to me at the same time, I just don't know how to express them all, like my heart was about to explode... Am I listening to the voice of God ?

  • Honestly the most beautiful and emotional song they have. It's just screaming to be set free from itself. We love you Syd <3

  • 8 people have never been high before

  • I was 17 in 1970, and it was somewhat of a crazy time. My favourite group for dropping cid with.....

  • @nomercudiablo THE SAME FUCKING SHIT IM GOING THRU LITE NOW. DN WRRY ITS GLAD TO KNW THERE ARE MANY FLOYDIANS OUT THERE LIKE US ALL WHO WISH THE SAME THING AND YET WE ENJOY THE PSYCHEDELIC TRANCE ONLY THEY CAN GIVE

  • @nomercudiablo I'm fifteen & I only listen to bands like Pink Floyd, Rush, & Def Lappard.

  • Pink Floyd = Mozart

  • someone tell people that not all music is made to dance to, i hate when women say i like any music i can shake my ass to, i mean what the fuck

  • God is revealed through them... IT`S DIVINE!!!

  • @QAVUC Pathetic. Dont blast your ignorance here. The members of Pink Floyd are (were) atheist's, so respect that and dont write comments like that. It's insulting to them.

  • @elyakupie hey listen to Grantchester Meadows then to cirus minor then to this version of saucerful of secrets!

  • The jesus four...... The christ melody

  • EPIC

  • V they mean whatever you want them to mean bud

  • @yesmin66

I had cirrus minor open in another window and at 4.00 started this version, it sounded really good, thanks for the tip

  • PEACE!!!

  • Im not 100% sure who is who in the picture...can someone help me out?

  • @wallfootballplayer (Left-Right) Roger Waters(Bass,Vocalist) David Gilmour(Guitarist,Vocalist) Nick Mason(Drummer,Tape Mixer and Editor,my personal favorite :D) Richard "Richard" Wright(Vocalist,Organist/Pianist).

  • You don't need drugs to enjoy things like this. Just open your mind.

  • yea =)

  • I used to think that this is the end of the exploration of the cave under Oak Island (Atlantis): the burial chamber in which the King of Atlantis, king of harmony and spiritual majesty, proudly walked to go and sit on his throne in order to die solemnly. It's a novel by Italian journalist and writer Mino Milani and I find it fits perfectly with this music (also the drums of this song remember me the pendulum, the big watch-tower that is the main monument in the novel plot).

  • maravilha!!!!!

  • @ronan32 yea i agree

  • oooooooooooooohhhhhhhhh ooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh

    oooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhoooooooooooohhhhhhhhh

    oooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh oooooooooohhhhhhhhhh

oooohhhh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oh!

    oooooooohhhhhhhh ooooooooooohhhhhhh

  • I soiled myself

  • sweeeeeeeet...

  • fuck all this new music pink floyds where its at

  • the pompeii version is so much better

  • It looks like Richard is giving you a soul stare for some reason

  • @THEPAUL411 ...I totally agree and I was thinking that even before I scrolled down and read your comment. He was a beautiful looking guy too...

  • wish i could see em on the first when they play, i live in pensacola only a few hours away but im broke as a joke on coke without a smoke!

  • Pink Floyd, the prophets, the poets, the philosophers, the pioneers, producers of peace. The impossible made possible. High spirits, summoners of universal sympthony, savoir of humanity.

  • This song is the reason why my favorite album is Ummagumma

  • This song is going to be played at my funeral when they lower me down to the ground.

  • The amazzing thing about this song is that it's just the same chord progression over and over, and it stills sound so unique and varied.

  • This fucking music is genius and was inspired by the highest level of awareness there is I swear to God, as God is me But I am not God, we are all one and When I start my church Pink Floyd will be the music we use :)

  • pink Floyd old& new all gp

  • wow all you people are high, or just really open minded..

  • I think this song is amazing because at the point of writing this song pink floyd were convinced that this was the end of the line for them with poor syd ending up the way he did and they thought they wouldnt be able to compete with the new up comming tallent of the time.how modest they were.

  • Check my profile for the Pink Floyd Inspired Concept album I wrote!

  • anyone know where to find this picture? so trippy and cool.

  • Ummagumma is one of the best albums of rock history....they even put syd's astronomy domine on it.... splendid

  • the live version at pompeii is better

  • @ronan32 absolutely

  • @ronan32 yep...I agree

  • @ronan32 i know david sounded sooo ...idk words can explain when describing a pink floyd song...

  • The end sounds a little bit too "grandiose", but it's was OK for us; nothing could equal that cry like a hope... The beginning is closer to the mystery of our generation.

  • this is the definitive version

  • @rwfmade absolutely

  • the live version is 100 times better

  • Never before had a wordless song said so much...

  • Now, I'm gonna say it, Elephant in the room, I don't like Dark Side, personally that and the Wall aren't a patch on the early era Floyd, Barrett was a great writer during Floyd's early days, and in my opinion, Piper is their best album, and this stuff is also their best work, along with "Let's all make love in London".

  • @Cptjackjacky indeed.

  • @Cptjackjacky indeed

  • Mescaline was the big thing right then, and they had a big screen behind them with kalidescopic colors moving, and I'd never heard anything so loud and yet so grand , when I was 16, in 1970, at the Electric Factory, in Philadelphia!!!

  • 8 persone sono sorde...

  • Is it just me or does the bottom right look like Jesus?

  • Comment removed

  • @GlenTip10 ....he does look like the western idea of "Jesus".....but i would imagine that if Jesus was real ..he probably would have looked a lot more like people from that part of the world....not an Englishman or American lol

  • @KNOBBYBRIT

jews can be very fair skinned, so jesus could of looked like the western ideal

  • @GlenTip10 That would the late great Rick Wright! The keyboardist!

  • @GlenTip10 the bottom Wright lol

  • @GlenTip10 that's because they all are jesus

  • the mos beatifull and the greatest psichedelic requiem¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ this is the great sichedelic hymn¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • I want to lead a somber procession to this song. It would be me, in a fine, royal white floor-length fur coat with authentic animal print detail on the cuffs and inside. I will have a very regal crown of sorts atop my brain. I will have a council and we will all be half-mad, but full of magic and wonder and wise, very wise. We will walk in this unending Winter, through a clearing in the forest, where I will pass around a vessel, full of rich red wine, served in pewter, until we lay down, drunk.

  • @ladykws

Count me in! I'm looking forward to it!

  • @ladykws

I dub thee a kindred spirit

  • I'm unhappy, cause it stopped. Just got in the dot, where whole life around me started make some sense.

  • we still drop a ton of acid 90- present day

  • I dont know anything about i pods. when i was in school we listened to this stuff on record players and cassette tapes. and dropped a ton of acid. 85-90

  • class apart but only for those who understand that music can be deep

  • try listening to it on acid.

    godly

  • @fmeriqui

if you do, be very careful. i remember coming to in places i was not in when i started, both literally and figuratively. floyd seems to have that effect, even without acid.

best have some headphones and a travel agent. and stay indoors.(unless its snowing. snow has a way of making rules go away. and you older folks will remember 'travel agents')

  • @edslides1 travel agents = sitters ?

  • Comment removed

  • @fmeriqui

actually, travel agents were dealers. i should have said tour guide.

  • @edslides1 lol

  • @fmeriqui yeah in the night with your cd player! it's so wonderrrr

  • Like ever, Chile. The most rocker country of the world.

  • Oh my God, this song is so beautiful

  • i have the album and that is not the photo on the cover

  • @roaddog453 Cool bro but who said that was the album cover?

  • thank you for the post ClassicManiac

  • Originally known as "The Massed Gadgets of Hercules" What we hear are the last two structures of a the four part theme. part #3: Storm Signal (represents the view of the dead after the battle has ended) and part #4: Celestial Voices (representing the mourning of the dead). ---- Part #1: Something Else represents the setup of the battle and Part #2: Syncopated Pandemonium represents the actual battle. These were all based from their 1969 tour The Man and His Journey. Peace. LONG LIVE SYD!!!!

  • I can't find this version on iTunes or on the Ummagumma CD I received recently...where would I come across it?

  • @2kuul4u This IS the Ummagumma version. If you have the CD, you have it. This part begins at about 7 min of the complete song, which lasts about 12 min.

  • I dont want to sound like a little bitch but. Music scares me now a days and some of the stupid ass people. It feels like such great music turned to crap in like seconds and that great music just won't come back. And what's sad is that, there's people who play music for the joy of it, and there's more people that play music for the money and fame. And that fucking bugs me a bit. Most famous people out there in this world suck dick for money basically, and they'll do w/e for that money/fame.

  • Excelent song. Nick Mason looks like Jesus in that picture :)

  • @thegreatseventhson they all look like jesus

  • @5hawnK3lly yes, you're right (Y)

  • @5hawnK3lly they all are jesus

  • orange sunshine or window pane

  • orange sushine

  • Sublime. Ah those were the days...

  • AN ETERNAL HAIL TO ETERNAL FLOYD!

  • AMAZING in capital letters, absolutely amazing

  • I remember that saucerful of secrets ummagumma-version is wich has choir singing this melody? This is version is just live performance. Or does my mind play tricks..

  • oh you cut out the first part of the song, even though this is my favorite part, of course.

the song is actuallly almost 13 minutes long if you include the first part

  • I used to end every drinking session with this song..lights out, eyes closed and my life would pass before my eyes in the most beautiful and surreal way and then I would wake up and go eat frozen pizza and let my dog out to pee and wish I was sitting in the ancient ruins of Pompeii instead of anytown USA.

  • @bughead3 I can relate.... good one

  • @bughead3

I used to end this song with a drinking session:) It doesn't seem to be a big difference first, but it is:) Pink Floyd forever!

  • @bughead3

this music is made for smoking weed

  • @bughead3 What you just said is dark and mysterious. I feel like it embodies those people you see walk by or standing by themselves with that look in their eyes that lets you know theres something more underneath. like a person who truly believe in his miserable existence that is life. like the start of some sad movie man.

  • @bughead3 Its fuck it when your drunk , This is much better when your fuck up on drugs

  • What are the other parts known as collecively? This is a real avant-guarde epic!

  • Comment removed

  • ummagumma = sex

  • That's only the END of the song !

the most beautifull part of a pink floyd song :)

  • This song deserves much more attention! For most people Pink Floyd starts with DSOTM. I Discovered this song a year ago and i couldn't believe that I never heard it before. Absolutely Brilliant!

  • New Floyd starts with DSOTM,but dark side isn't their only album.Piper at gates of dawn,Saucerful of secrets,Ummagumma,Atomheart mother,Meddle are perfect albums.Everybody starts with dark side because it is easy for listening. For example, just few people talk about their album Animals.Animals is maybe their best thing they did,but people doesn't like it.i don't know why.

  • Thanks for the chords love u!!

  • make me cry..... everytime

  • Nice pics! Never get tired of this track! :)

  • Of the 4 versions I know of this masterpiece, the original 1968 Saucerful of secrets album, the ummagumma double album, the Kralingen concert and the Pompei recording, I like this one best and by far above all others. Keyboards, bass, drums, guitar and vocals are ALL absolutely stunning and incredibly powerful. My period vinyl I played over and over is quite used, and this adds hard

and rough feeling to this extraordinary piece of music.

  • the best music ive ever heard, its been with me all through my life this song xxxxxxx

  • I have Ummagumma but I don't have this version... I have a version completely without drums and guitar, acapella... hmm

  • WoW

    The Four Evangelists ! :-D

    Wonderful btw

  • Absolute Classic and the 6 people who don't like this should be shot

  • this song just gives me chills!!

  • what is the font PINK FLOYD at 0:01?
