bearnagh is where i love to climb up, the granite is so tactile, to go for a long hike and end up at bloody bridge and dip your hot worn feet in the sea is soooo good, also tollymore forest is underestimated, those stepping stones are so much fun, especially if you've been drinking you're mates homemade elderflower wine and see two for every one stone, has anyone seen the actual millstone on millstone mountain?
imagine all the people who built those walls of stone, the work, the walking, the life they led. are there records on this? looks like a great place to go out and get lost for a few days, have some fun.
@gullars83 Hi, no it's the Mourne wall. The Mourne Wall is a wall which was constructed to enclose a reservoir's catchment area in the Mourne Mountains, Northern Ireland. It was built between 1904 and 1922 by the Belfast Water Commissioners to enclose the water catchment in the Mournes. The wall was crafted from natural granite stone using traditional dry stone walling techniques. It is 22 miles (35 km) long and passes over fifteen mountains
