The Muslims of Ghana and West Africa have always been SUNNI of the MALIKI madhhab, or SUFI of the Tijaniyya, Qadiriyya or Muridiyya tariqat, since Islam first arrived in the 11th century! There have never been Shias in West Africa.
In the whole of sub-saharan Africa, I have only heard of Shias present among a few Swahilis who trace part of their ancestry to Iran.
In Mali, Niger or Nigeria, Shias will be a small group of people in a sea of Maliki Sunnis. In Ghana? Even less.

It is all in the Quran some of the bible and torah. The Quran Told us that Abrahim was Muslim Hanify never visiting graves and crying for dead brother, sisters nor for his father or his mother. I think you have to learn the meaning of Shia, then please till me who was Abrahim a shia of? Please don't say the Shia of Ali cuz he wasn't . peas

@Sha6ah Ibrahim was a Shia of Noah (AS). Prophet Muhammad (S) wept over Hamza and Hussein- If you knew your history you'd know your Prophet (S). Quran teaches us to 'travel in the land' also to 'observe the signs' in His creation. If you really followed Quran, you'd never be conent with ignorance.

Yes, the original African Muslims were Shi'a. Black Shi'ites established empires in Africa- Idrisids, Fatimids, etc. Please learn your history before you make ignorant comments.

@Sha6ah The Quran says Ibrahim was Shia. Shia has always been a common description of Muslims since the Quran was revealed in Mecca & Medina. Ibrahim was a Muslim. The Quran doesn't call any Muslim a Sunni. Sunnism is an innovation of Muawiyah. The Umayyids oppressed the Shi'a of Africa.
