  • Can I ask you if you reside in the US or Europe?

  • @Ungodwarrior I am an American currently working overseas in an international company. Why do you ask?

  • Yeah, right. I'd really love to "crash the dollar" since my Social Security and all my retirement is in dollar form. These accusations just get weirder and weirder. It is too bad that the very people who would be helped by healthcare reform are determined to think that the President is an enemy. We need to deal with REAL issues, not invented ones. We can disagree about the best way to deal with healthcare reform, but let's try to talk about facts. I'm also an American and a patriot.

  • I will not try to change your mind, but If they really wanted to fix health-care don't you think that they(Obama and the communist czars) would try the easy fixes first, stop the open borders and stop printing money which de-value's your dollars.

  • lol comunist czars. Such drama! What easy fixes do you think we could do that BUSH didn't? That was nice of him though wasn't it? Bringing our deficit up by a record amount: $4.9-trillion over eight years and leaving Obama with a bill for $1.3 trillion and said, 'Here, fix it,'" Obamas rating is the fourth-highest for any President at this time behind John F. Kennedy, Dwight D. Eisenhower, and Jimmy Carter. And no, I didn't vote for him.

  • You know whats really funny about what you said is that there was a day, not that long ago, when if what you just posted about our president was given to the secret service, you would most certianly be brought in as a communist! lol How Ironic.

  • jeangrey65, please please watch this video series that user mikeshanklin has posted on his You tube home page on the Constitution. It's 43 10min parts and its free. Then you will understand why so many of our veterans gave all they had for our republic, why there are current tea-parties and what freedom really is.

  • Fcker, Communist? You mean China, Vietnam, Korea, Lao, and Cuba? Don't you know that it's the presidents duty to bring/Entertain leaders from other countries such as these to the White house to discuss World issues? I can't believe an intellegent person could actually believe in such a Conspiracy theory. American Patriots? LMAO Try American propagare!

  • You have oatmeal for brains.

  • By the way, KM, I don't have any problem with people who disagree. Some have valid points. But I have NOTHING to gain in this personally, so it is ridiculous to accuse me of "lying" just because you disagree. I have

the convictions that 15 years of working as a financial manager in healthcare gave me. I think America is better than her current healthcare system.

  • I have not accused you of lying, just repeating falsehoods. Lying I think, is intentional, falsehoods normally result from not understanding fully or not looking completely at something and coming to a conclusion that is false.

  • Again, if 85% of us have insurance, I hardly call that luck and if you do then you are not being honest.

If the health insurance was seperated from employers, and the govt restraints removed, my god the price would drop dramatically as the competition increased. One other thing to consider, the quality si sure to drop and the waits get long, there is no way in hell to cover 47 million new people and not increase the number of doctors and expect that the waits don't get very long

  • I actually agree that insurance should be separated from employers, but deregulating them from any government control - i.e. protections for consumers - is a mad idea. And see above concerning my comments for waiting. I'd prefer to wait for elective care and not see my neighbor die due to lack of access to healthcare. 18,000 die each year in this country due to lack of ins. according to an in depth survey by the Institute of Medicine. That's not ok with me. You're free to have your own opinion

  • Not saying there should be no regulation, but just the bare minimum necessary for consumer protection. No more than that. Access to health care is not a problem, the cost of it is, everyone has access, it is illegal to deny treatment at any hospital. Preventive care is what is needed and there are plenty of options outside of government that are better, more efficient and more cost effective than another government program.

  • That is simply not true, or, if you prefer, a falsehood. Hospital EMERGENCY rooms can not turn a patient away in an emergency, but hospitals do have financial requirements for other admissions. A person needing a transplant without insurance IS turned away in this country. A diabetic who has chronic problems goes untreated and without medication. A breast cancer patient who is uninsured can't get chemo and radiation. Some patients are lucky enough to live where there is a county facility

  • A county facility paid usually by property or sales taxes, by the way. If they don't have that, they often do NOT have access to care. I repeat, I worked as a financial manager in a hospital for 15 years. I spoke with many of my colleagues in other hospitals. That IS the way it is. I served on a nationwide UNOS committee on patient access to try to resolve the problems of access to healthcare. If the uninsured could get the care they need, few of us would care about healthcare reform.

  • I have been the victim of Govt health care...I am a Veteran and have been treated and operated on in both GA and DE, I am still eligible for it and can get that care free, but I choose to pay for ins and receive better quality care. I have had surgery in both and its night and day difference. My Dad would be dead under the Govt run system. V.A. will not prescribe him Lipitor because of cost even though his Dr said the substitute they offered him would kill him. Thank god he has private ins too.

  • FRAUD ALERT - At the 31 second mark the speaker states "Those who are lucky enough to have insurance"

85% of Americans have coverage, is that luck? That is the norm,

    Typical scare tactic,

This lady is in Europe as she states at the 21 second mark. That detracts from the credibility itself.

  • I don't hide the fact that I currently live in Europe, but I am 100% American and worked in healthcare for 20 years, 15 of them as a financial manager. That establishes my credibility. And yes, I think you are VERY lucky if you have insurance in America. People who are healthy are lucky, too. I consider myself lucky for many reasons. If you ever become one of the 16 to 17% without coverage, you will recognize how lucky you were to have it.

  • Myth # 2 - The Health insurers limit choices. They do limit choices because they can due to govt regulations. Again, not a myth - Since it is govt regs. allowing this, why don't we just remove the regulations and let the insurance companies compete? It works for car insurance...some companies may deny you coverage, but there is always another that will provide it. It works for home insurance, life insurance, every other type of insurance...let the free market compete.

  • They limit your choice of doctors and hospitals. Not because the government tells them to, but because they cut deals with the hospitals and docs for cheaper rates. Nothing wrong with that except their pointing the finger at the government plan and saying IT will do that. HMOs limit the choice of your treatments as well. When you have a pre-existing condition there is NOT always another insurance company that will take you. BTW, do you work for the ins industry?

  • This is another blatant false hood. I work in one state and live in another, my insurance is handled by a different company in Delaware than it is in Pennsylvania. Depends where I see the doctor. That is because of Government Insurance regulations. Surely you are aware of an elective office that every state has of Insurance commissioner? Every single state regulates and controls who can offer health ins and what the can offer.

I work in the QC dept at a manufacturer.

  • Your comments about what insurance companies is true right now, under the current system. It does need to be addressed, but not with a government controlled system. The free market will solve all of this. One company won't cover pre existing conditions, but others will com along that do, the Free Market always provides.

Look at auto insurance, some companies will not insure people with DUI's but others will, its a free market solution. There are other aspects too detailed to cover in a reply

  • The free market has had decades to resolve this problem and has done nothing but make more profits and deny coverage to those not lucky, yes, lucky, enough to work for a company that provides insurance. And as far as waiting for healthcare is concerned, if you think it is ok that some people die without access to healthcare so that they aren't in front of you in line, then it is obvious we have very different priorities and values.

  • They have not because they are limited by government regulations. Change those regulations, Car insurers are also limited by regulations but not to the same extent and it is both affordable and competitive in the market place, Health insurance is not due to regulations. For example, I have two choices, I can get it at work or individually, Life insurance I can get at work, individually, from the Knights of Columbus, The American Legion, AAA many options, but it's illegal for them to offer health

  • Blatant falsehood? Are you kidding me? I don't know what your answer has to do with the issue I'm talking about. Most people insured privately (i.e. not on a government plan) are insured by an HMO or PPO. That means THEY choose the docs and hospitals on the list that you "choose" from. If the doc drops out because payments are too low, you have to change doctors. I am certainly aware of the state regulators. Some of them saved my patients' lives when insurance tried to illegally deny benefits.

  • My answer had to do with your ignoring the government intervention that is already going on that has caused a lot of this Insurance industry practices by taking away the free market choices. The free market has not had decades, in fact doesn't now have the opportunity.

Tort reform would go along way toward lowering costs too BTW

Under this plan would the doctors still have the option to drop out? Is so how does this improve that?

  • I agree that insurance companies should be allowed to sell policies in any state. Many insurance companies have bought out the others and become practically monopolies. That's not the free market. I still think some things MUST be mandated for coverage or they could sell any inferior policy and call it "major medical" coverage. Tort reform has not shown itself to save much at all in the 2 states it's been enacted. Doctors do get lower malpractice premiums but don't lower their prices.

  • Malpractice insurance, payouts and related charges account for less than 2% of expenses. I agree with reasonable tort reform (including some punitive damages for really egregious neglect, operating under the influence, etc.), but that alone will account for a VERY small savings.

  • Crap, Crap and more crap...

Have you read the bill? If so you will find "Myth" #1 is not a myth at all. but written into the bill. Starts on page 16. I can keep my doctors and insurance but can only switch to a govt plan. Also I may be forced into it by the 8% payroll tax my employer will be subject to. I do not work for a large company and as such with the imposition of the surtax they may likely drop my coverage and force me into a govt plan. It is a fact not a myth, it is in the bill.

  • I have read the bill. You can keep your INSURANCE along with the doctors and hospitals your insurance allows you to see. That is, as long as you can still afford your insurance. Projected rises in premiums over the next 10 years are enormous!

  • Comment removed

  • That isn't what this is saying. You can get coverage from your new company. This is regarding individual, not group coverage.

  • Way to knock down all those strawmen.

How is this gov't plan going to increase the *supply* of medical care? Its not. It will increase demand. Do the math. costs for those insured will go through the roof.

This has already happened as a result of medicare/medicaid.

Great use of anicdotal evidence, I am glad your mother got treatment though. My Grandparents have never faired so well through said plan.

If access to health care is what we need, Simply increase the supply of health care...

  • Thanks again Alisoninrome. I am creating a playlist on Healthcare on my channel and participate, submit videos, etc. Hugs and thanks again for your work.

  • Obama has been talking about a single-payer plan as a "private market" experiment before he was elected. It's utterly absurd to deny this.

  • if you search you tube you will find obama's 2003 speech stating he supports the single payer system. his website takes one paragraph to describe over 1,000 pages of legislation.

  • And ? If we cant get it we will settled withthe public option .If people run to the public option because they are tired of Humana screwing them to the wall for crazy premiums from and then deny them when their kids are sick . so if you dont want a governement move to Afghanistan

  • The UK health system is the 3rd largest employer behind the Chinese Army and the Indian National Rail System. The population of UK is approx. 61 million or 1/5 of our population. Imagine the size of this system. Why don't you move to the UK? Then you can deal with a system that determines whether you will be treated or shunted aside because care is too costly. Note, the Bill precludes rights to litigate ANYTHING done or not done by the Government. Are you that trusting & gullible?

  • There is no such thing . U are treated u pick ur Dr , My mom changed Oncologist 3 times just to get different opinion .Don't talk of what u do not know . I have insurance here because I work , if I became so sick that i couldnt work .I will fly back in a heart beat for healthcare .Are u that paranoid that u r persuaded insurance industry is indispensable to you. This is all out of fear and ignorance I guess u dont want the american people to be healthier and more educated

  • thank you so much for addressing some of the....well lets call it what it is..lies being told about this health reform bill. And thanks for sticking up for those without health coverage in America, I being one of them. My employer offers a insurance plan..AFLAC...talk about cheep and who can afford AFLAC for crying out loud, not me, not on my wages.

  • I am on that medicaid and nearly died, I have friends that go to the veterans hospital and the are horror stories thier too if the govement puts everyone on it then what do you think will happen? Less for those that are on it and longer waiting lines for help..and if that where the case I would have died...People better wake up and ask the ones that are already on it to tell them how it really is...

  • Hmmmm. Sounds to me like myths about the facts. The video sounds nice but is not factual; it only gives the same myths as come from Obama. A public option will stifle all the health care insurance and put us all under government care. Think Medicaid, Medicare and Veteran's Hospitals - all government plans - and ask yourself: are these shining examples? I don't think so. Obama is trying to rush this scam through before anyone has a real chance to think about it or read the bill.

  • I hope they listen to you. Subscribed.

  • Thank you.

  • Anyone who speaks against Universal Health Care and the abolishment of HMO's is either receiving KICKBACKS from special interest groups, or they have a buisiness which PROFITS on the misfortunate with health inflictions

Since when was it LEGAL to get rich off of a person's terminal illeness or any other trauma?

This country will be punished severely for it ignorance and wicked schemes

OBAMA WE THE PEOPLE DEMAND UHC AND FREE UNIVERSITY that we may restore this Nation completely!

  • It is good to set the record straight --- and often! Thanks for sharing.

  • Thanks for watching.

  • It probably depends on the tax benefits offered to the company. It is far too soon for them to be saying something like that without knowing the facts. The presence of a government plan may actually make their premiums go down as insurance companies finally try to be competitive. Thanks for watching.

  • I think the insurance companies will vanish. You can't compete with the government. I just hope it is as promised....we get the same care that Obama himself would get.

  • I stumbled on this video by chance. I have great insurance with the company I work for. They did tell us however that they will drop our coverage if the government offers it. I think this will be the case for many people and probably kill commercial insurance companies off.

  • Wow, the insurance company told you that? Contact your State Attorney. This is a violation of the law.

  • No, my employer is going to stop paying for our coverage if this govt coverage goes through. Hmm, maybe I'll get more pay since they no longer have to pay the insurance company? I can only hope.

  • Interesting... it is kind of irresponsible of a company to tell you that they will drop you from insurance or even switch you before they even know what an option would look like.
