This is old. Looking bad god this is bad. LOL. Like no glide tossing and dribbling hadn't even been put into play by any Diddy's yet.

This was back when I played online. I now do almost entirely offline tournament play.

Still, most of these opponents were ranked in the top 100-200 of Gamebattles when this was recorded.

meh. you seem pretty good, but this movie fails cuz it doesn't showcase anything cuz your opponents are just so disgustingly bad. they run/slip towards banana peels instead of away, the TRY to get hit with your meteor smash, have apparently never heard of air dodging, try to get hit with your charged smash attacks, and they just basically fail at life

oh my i love reading comments in on combo videos like this 'oh your opponites are so bad my 5 year old cousin doesnt do the dumb shit they do... l2 airdodge noob... do they kno what a smash is?' ok first of AZ is making the video so he's not gonna put bad things in it. 2ndly he's showing off so hwhen he makes someone look extra noobish he will display it. i'm sure they know how to play but still you can get hit with a smash even if you are in PR.

apparently you haven't seen enough good combo videos. the people who are pro's usually actually show their also pro/semi-pro friends killing them a few times in hardcore ways at the end of their video, such as during the credits. And no, there's like a 1% of getting hit by a charged up smash if you have a frontal lobe and consciousness and enough skill to realize you shouldn't run into a big obvious attack

Not bad diddy kong, i play diddy kong myself too. It's actually the only reason i play brawl ; diddy kong is awesome. As a side note ; your opponents need to learn to air-dodge, cause all the shit you were doing, could've been avoided easily ( which also gets avoided easily by people i play against ).

I hear that a lot and its simply not true. Air dodging is vastly overrated/easily counter able, there are even a few instances in this video where an opponent dodges and then gets hit as the air dodge ends.

Now you mentioned that, you're right. There are a couple of way too quick air dodges. I'm guessing people will think it's supposedly "mind-gaming", but I'm not quite sure. More of a fear factor of getting killed on high damage, cause nothing was happening when the opponents air dodged.

give it some time, brawl is like a completely different game, its not as easy to combo like in melee. once it's been out longer, u can expect even better combo videos.

Not to bash Brawl, but we're kinda past the point where we could find something to allow decent combos. All we can do now is refine what we have. I personally prefer the term "Compilation" video.

The community of Melee when it first came out was MUCH smaller then the current Brawl community. And most of Melee's ATs were discovered a few months after release (and refined over the years). Yet, we haven't found anything big like L-cancel or WD in the same time frame.

As I said, all we can do is refine what we have.

you obviously have some skill as diddy. and this is noticable.

but one of two things, your either stuck playing a bunch of noobs, or your not that good. diddy can pwn so much harder. i didnt see anything i really liked besides a bunch of spikes (which are good). work on more chain throwing and air moves besides the d-air. hope it helped

All videos are from online, where Diddy is very limited. In live play, RAR'd short hop double air attacks happen far more often then in this video.

However, Diddy doesn't have a chain grab. I don't think you know what your talking about. Feel free to post a video of yourself or PM me your aim/brawl code so you can teach me all you know.

Well the "combos" u show us are the consecuence of dont know how to guard... ur oponents are too silly that come to u when they dont have to; I saw alot of noob movements there and i think and i know u can post some videos were ur oponents try to get out of ur bananas, were they use shield ¬¬, when they use ur own bananas vs u ... and show us alot of better combos... My main is Diddy and i think that u know what im talking about...

Shrug, I would say even against a good opponent (Azen/Chillin/Chu) they, at best, maybe turn 3/10 bananas against me (so I guess 70%) success rate. Its true, it does happen, but Diddy (as I'm sure you know) can do things to guard against it and can also get control of the banana back far quicker than the opponent. There are a lot of videos posted here, mainly doubles against experienced opponents, but also some singles. And yea, some of the opponents weren't great, but other were (top 100/50 GB)

You need to work on killing at lower percents. Most were at about 150 percent... 180-220s on Snakes.

Also, dashattack -> usmash does not break through shields like you stated in the tutorial teaser; it' only if the opponent lets go of shield d/t unfamiliarity with the attack's multiple hits.

You are right, my biggest problem is killing opponents, but against good players you will not get spike KO's and your best chance is to glide toss F-Smash (assuming first banana hits them, then the F-Smash is automatic). This is great offline, but online is more difficult, frequently the input lag makes the F-Smash not connect or occurs to late.

Dash attack > U-Smash does work against experienced players, but only if you've already annoyed them with bananas. I'm aware that it can be shield grabbed, but I've found that, given the pace of Diddy and a banana barrage, you would more often then not succeed with a Dash Attack > U-Smash than fail. This is all void if you don't use bananas before you approach, then I'd say there is a pretty good chance of being shield grabbed.

The only problem about some of these vids is that some of the spikes aren't really viable in 1 on 1 since people can have the time to react to it as compared to online. Though this is a pretty good Diddy combo vid overall. Gj

Except every spike occurred in an actual match that at least had some meaning (IE gamebattles ladder).

You can even watch one of the spikes I do where the opponent does dodge and I simply wait and hit him when he exits the animation.

Actually, as a note, once someone trips on a banana they are open to an unpunishable attack. Its how banana locking works, you just chuck nana after nana and its inescapable unless the Diddy player messes up or you reach an edge. This pretty much the key to nana combos and nana combos are true combos (say, nana lock > dash attack > Fair).

nanas force tripping, you can throw nana after nana and lock a person in and it is an inescapable combo. Because of the trip, you can also follow it up nana locking with dash attack > nana toss/F-Air/B-Air/etc or glide toss F-Smash, which is also inescapable if the nana hits because you wont recover from the trip before the F-Smash.

Sure, some of the stuff in the video were not true combos, but who actually cares unless your ball bent on playing Melee forever.
