@seifer93 Have a look at PSXFIN, you can define a resolution up to your monitors maximum, and while it won't look as sharp as the PC version with the AA filters, it would be an improvement. Besides, it's a classic game!
@K1NGL1NK711 Yep, either get the PSN version from the store, or if you have a custom firmware on your PSP, get the PSX2PSP version that should be floating around. Another way is to convert your own PSX version, but you'll need PSX2PSP and a custom firmware that supports POPS.

@MultiWilliam15 .... the PC version ruined the soundtrack but making it sound way synthesized... and its the only version which can be upscaled to HD+ full antialiasing .. never psone version..
You would see that I did use loader that you're referring to. The resolution I used was 1920x1080 as that was my maximum resolution at the time. On top of the 1080p I used, I added a custom 16x Anti Aliasing filter.
When recording, the output was 1080p, however, the clip I uploaded here was forced in 720p to save on bandwidth when I uploaded.
Because this was *only* a test to show off the Vista loader as well as 1080p+16xAA. I restarted the game properly after this and played like I normally do.
I'm well aware that it makes the GFs power stronger. I've finished FFVIII about 4 times now.
It's a direct port, so they are pretty much identical. Although, you can ramp up the resolution on the PC version, that's why I prefer the PC version over the PSX version.
I'm guessing that this can't be used with the PS1 version through an emulator... Too bad, all I have it for is Playstation...

The Background Music is (Force Your Way)
For some reason Quezecotl has Pheonix's Entrance
The only thing that's the same as the original (PS2 version):
The summoning GF sound effects
Shiva's Entrance and Attack
Quezecotl's Final Thunder Blast
The video has original PC sound effects, but they aren't THE original because the PS2 version was created first.

@fun0fl0ve1 The thing is, this was released at the same time as the PS1 version, so they are, more or less, a direct port of one-another.
As far as the sound effects go, my sound card with it's own DSP processing and EAX effects may change the sound output as this was recorded.
I'm unsure if you're referring to the PS1 version or not, but I wasn't aware the was a PS2 version of Final Fantasy 8.

Hey dude :) It exist a FF8 mod ff8launcher31.exe there you can change youre Resolution up to more then 1680x1400 or something *don´t know*

I think it actaully looks better than PSX version emulated on HD.
But fonts looked better on emulated one with filters and shaders.

you cant beat the PSX ver, the graphics may be slightly clearer but the sound can not be beaten on the PSX
