He laughed at me and said he 'got me' and 'theres nothing you can do about it' some of his quotes I'll never forget. 4 days later I was out and was able to pay $5 @ the court for paper work fees, told me where I could get my car and when I asked how much they said it wouldn't cost anything because the charges dropped.

Turns out the city of Irvine had hired 300+ outside police as well as recruits/rookies to set up the check points for xmas weekend. This made sense because @ the time of dui check I saw a group of rookies (young young men) being directed by 1 single man (older and higher rank imho), there were about 6-8 of these 'groups' not sure exactly but enough to cover my peripheral vision. City just wanted money imho.

The thing is, when you put things up people may mistake as actual road signs/markers/equipement, you run the risk of putting the general public in jeapordy. If you're so concerned for the public, I would imagine there is a much better way to make people aware without potentially hurting others.

@RP4409 There are several reasons why light times may be altered. One has to take into consideration that yes, it will increase revenue if people run through a red light.
Here's the thing...if you see an amber light before you hit the intersection, this does not mean "speed up and beat the red", but to slow down if safe to do so. If you're already in the intersection and the light TURNS red, you won't be photographed, and even if you are, you can easily fight this in court.

Federal guidelines are 4.5 seconds or longer for a road at 45mph but the cities lower them to 3 seconds or less. The have done studies that showed if you increased the yellow time you can virtually eliminate all accidents and red light running at intersections....so why don't they?
My wife got flashed by one of these things. I found out by mistake one day while I was messing around on AZ courts website. They never sent a letter in the mail. Then some guy showed up at the door. I thought it was a solicitor, so I ignored him. He kept ringing the doorbell, so I turned it off. Then he went around to the side door and knocked and yelled "agent of the court". I knew what it was then, so I just ignored him until he left. Anyone know when they give up and dismiss this bullshit?

The thing is, when you put things up people may mistake as actual road signs/markers/equipement, you run the risk of putting the general public in jeapordy. If you're so concerned for the public, I would imagine there is a much better way to make people aware without potentially hurting others.

@RP4409 There are several reasons why light times may be altered. One has to take into consideration that yes, it will increase revenue if people run through a red light.
Here's the thing...if you see an amber light before you hit the intersection, this does not mean "speed up and beat the red", but to slow down if safe to do so. If you're already in the intersection and the light TURNS red, you won't be photographed, and even if you are, you can easily fight this in court.

@GrandTrunkFilms ....you don't get it. The point is they make it almost impossible to stop when traveling the speed limit of 45mph and attempt to stop at a yellow that is below 3 seconds.
Federal guidelines are 4.5 seconds or longer for a road at 45mph but the cities lower them to 3 seconds or less. The have done studies that showed if you increased the yellow time you can virtually eliminate all accidents and red light running at intersections....so why don't they?

My wife got flashed by one of these things. I found out by mistake one day while I was messing around on AZ courts website. They never sent a letter in the mail. Then some guy showed up at the door. I thought it was a solicitor, so I ignored him. He kept ringing the doorbell, so I turned it off. Then he went around to the side door and knocked and yelled "agent of the court". I knew what it was then, so I just ignored him until he left. Anyone know when they give up and dismiss this bullshit?

(a big company) they had the full units in the building,sucks because i am against these units and the unconstitutional ramification of such things but i need my job..i have been there for 5 years,,now i just saw a local news clip about this co. and they are going up everywhere in my area!!..i hate whats going on ! the machine has to be stopped!
