  • Sick!

  • Ive come back to this vid many timescuz man this mix is awesome!!!!!!

  • devo is proud of this master pice

  • I love DEVO but this is way better than the original music

  • What do you get if you mix Devo with Kraftwerk...?

  • Really loved your version of this song, you're good!

  • Amazing cover, amazing demo, amazing video. Oh and the song was good too! :D

  • This is bad ass!

  • Classic, classic EMX video! Quite possibly one of the best on youtube-definitely in the top 5 for sure. LOL@the dancing legs? in the upper right hand corner.

  • Very cool , I would YouTube would install a loop button on their players, so we could just keep playing it over, thanks for the beat, smoke'n

  • cool!

  • CAN I PLEASE MARRY THAT WOMAN !!!???

  • @gratisnepkut hes a man :/

  • @gratisnepkut AWK

  • Nice job , very good man

  • dude, is somebody dancing in the background?

  • a ten co ona postuja jaki jest ?

  • whats called the black box ?

  • Really cool...

  • What are the differences between the EMX and the Maschine? I know the Maschine has pressure sensitive pads -- the EMX does not, right? Are they used for different types of music? I don't quite understand the differences between the two. Thanks in advance for any help in this area.

  • @maxLeifermann the maschine is meant to integrate with software, whereas the emx is meant as a hardware only groovebox. also the emx is more for house/trance and the maschine is better suited to hip hop genres, but i may be wrong

  • @krakatoa47 thanks for the information, i think the EMX is more for me, also Denkitribe is very inspiring...

  • @maxLeifermann denkitribe is the master. also check out daren ager's "summer in detroit" if you haven't already

  • @maxLeifermann Maschine is an MPC with an onboard computer, basically. it also has its own computer software designed to work with it. The EMX is a "groovebox". Basically it was a ton of sounds that can be customized and then set into a sequence. You build songs by layering these sequences. The EMX can also technically be used as a midi controller but it wouldnt make too much sense as there are cheaper options. With Maschine, you'll need a computer. With the EMX, none is needed.

  • @smurflogik Thanks for the info...I think I'll go for the electribe; since I hope to get an iPad, maybe I will get the iElectribe app...

  • @maxLeifermann that's a good way to see if you really want to spend the $500ish on a hardware electribe. wish i had an iPad!

  • Great use of an EMX (if not the best I've heard/seen here), I salute you. Most of the EMX videos on youtube are absolute garbage where people play terrible, contrived trance songs they made in 3 minutes.

  • where can i get this yo?!

  • @HeartagramMinion go to musician's friend and search "korg emx"

  • Great stuff, thanks for putting a new twist on a classic, reminds me of the days when Kraftwerk was making headway and nobody was really ready for it...LOL

  • OK, I just have to ask. How do you get that distorted vocal line? I know the MX isn't a sampler and I don't see a vocoder, so how is it done?

  • Ah finally someone with a min kp who isn't using it in the dumbest way possible. Most people using a mini kp are ether pretty much "saying hey guys watch me ruin this song" or saying "hey guys watch me augment my less than mediocre guitar skills with a bunch of useless effects", Sir I applaud you for using a musical tool for a real musical purpose.

  • tu peux mettre ta voi dans l electribe?

  • u have some page?

i need download ur song :D

  • 2:50 - awesome! :D

  • I don't normally like this style of music, but that was rather good.

  • u rock

  • Great effect at 2:50

  • einfach nur geil, schade das du nicht in meiner nähe wohnst :;-((

  • this is sick man

  • Is there any place you can download this song?

  • love it!

  • i like it

  • 凄い!ここまで使えるようになりたい

  • «marmelade , marmelade , that you cant see , marmelade marmelade nobody could even see«

  • @opedroefeio its what i hear

  • 2:47 - 2:55 win

  • i got my kp3 yesterday, great stuff.

will take some time before i get the hang of it.

    i have one question though,

i record my loops using a kaossilator, but when i send them to the kp3 it always kinda stutters, it like ''reloops'' in the middle of the loop.

any one have an idea on how to do it propperly?

  • @Acidizer100 Get a loop recorded on the kaossillator memory BEFORE transferring to kp3... In other words don't record on the kp3 WHILE playing on the kaossilator... because the KO1 can overdub itself to fix the loop point smoothly. kp3 can't

  • I want one!!!!!!!!

  • black kermit the frog is diggin ur beat behind you

  • Sounds like a Dr Who battle theme.

  • skills, like the use of the khaos pad and the esx....coool

  • WoOo Very GOOD !!

  • I see that shit in the background LOL that is fucking FUNNY AS SHIT!...

BUt anyway Good SHIT dude, I just ordered the Kass PRO and I have the electribe MX so when I midi them I will be able to minipulate sounds on either device right using the other correct? It looked like you were controling the vcoder voice you put into the Kaoss with the electribe is that correct, and if so can you do it visa verca as well?

  • Fuck Yeah! That rules!

  • So now we know that Devo performs with props and you're behind the scenes providing the actual music.

  • WOW - THAT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!

  • Mark and Jerry should hire you.

  • wicked sick dood

  • Why are Roland and Korg doing away with these sort of devices?

  • Iron Giant amazing!!!

  • that was fkn cool.

  • @MrKajdepreter - What are you talking about???? This is awesome!!! What more respect could Devo ask for than to have a song covered so well????

  • awesome!!

  • that was f**kin awesome!!!

  • I'm sure Devo would love this :D

  • fantastic!

  • aaaaaaaaaarrrrgh!

  • OMG !!!!

  • At the beginning sounded like doctor who tune !

  • I love Denkitribe!

  • @LeisureCentury If it's this film it probally isn't much more than someone moving dials and so on which to someone who doesnt have such a definite, focused interest in doesnt mean much (no disrespect meant towards those who do have an interest in this kind of film, we dont all have the same viewing tastes after all).

  • electribes are one of the greatest inventions ever.

  • Dude... you're awesome.

  • Ticon - Models on Cocaine!

  • @PedroNovaes82 tru tru ;] ...

  • Very cool!

  • Great!

  • a powerful explosion

  • @dortyhoor

if you know what he is doin a little, its actually quite interesting!

  • @Balresch I'm sure it to those interested in erm.. machines? Only joking, I know what you mean and agree, but to the average person it is just someone operating machinery, like your peeking in on someones hobby almost.

  • @dortyhoor if someone has a short attention span, they won't dig this. strike that, if a person doesn't like Devo, they won't get this.

  • @carbonlaminate Attention spans don't have much to do with this apart from those with an interest in this, I could watch some things for hours but wouldn't want to watch someone spend hours knitting for example, I'm sure that goes for the majority of the population.

Having heard all the tune I like it, but if I wasn't typing and was just looking at the video I might have turned off, not all music videos work for everyone.

    Taste.

  • @dortyhoor That's what I said more or less. I think.

  • @carbonlaminate I think we agree then.

  • @carbonlaminate It would help no doubt if someone is trying to learn from this, like those make-up demo's but with music instead.

  • i want KORG device!!!

  • This video demonstrates why dance music is not suited to the medium of film, especially 'live performance' film. Good tune though.

    boom boom

  • awesome, just awesome

  • Freakin' awesome. Just plain nuts.

  • Im gonna subscribe and messege you... im gonna buy a MINI KP and i need to know what cables i need to hook up my EMX-1 and Mini KP...ill messege you with a lil more detail.

  • Great job! Check my live Performance"Jimmy"

  • Dude you're Awesome, great choice of song!!

  • Jonzun Crew is BACKK ! Yeah !

  • definitely Daft Punk sounding.

    Quality track!

  • @cgsammy

i think the emx has an fx send/return- so you basically hook up the mini kp as an external fx-device

  • Is this cover released in anyway ? edited somewhere , Is it possible to get it in any form somewhere ?

  • how much does each of those units used in this video cost?

  • The Electribe EMX-1 is $499. new, not sure on the kaosilator, probably about 250.Check out Sweetwater music or Nova musik online, they are Korg products. The Kaoss KP3 is a hotter version than the one in this vid. more features.

  • Nice twist on an already awesome song.

Im not familiar with the electribe. Does it do sampling as well as sequencing?

  • The ESX does not the EMX

    But great stuff!! :)

  • einfach nur geil, ich liebe es. hoffe noch mehr zu finden. danke

  • Is it possible to get a hold of recordings of this?

  • fucking sick!!!

  • SOMEONE TELL MEH WHATS VOCODING?!

  • It's not a vocoder. He is using the Formant on the EMX synth. If you want proof, go to about 2:22 and watch the EMX's "keyboard" (the long row of buttons along the bottom). You'll see that the sound (as well as all of the sounds you hear) is being created by the EMX which does not have a vocoder, only Formant. If you don't know what Formant is, check out wikipedia.

  • makes a voice sound like a robot.

  • if DEVO saw this, theyd be proud of you!

  • Comment removed
