  • Wooooooooooow, bravissimo:-))) What more should I say???

    Ciao Francis

  • wow.............SUPER........vielen Dank !!!

  • Nice! Thank you for Sharing!!!!!

  • Yeah, cool, it's blues time

  • Hi Framat! I love this one! Your playing is the tops!! Joey Vaughan "World Blues Attack"

  • @cjoey39

Thank you - btw you have a very talented daughter.

  • Nice one. Cool Man Cool.

    Chuck

  • Great Job !

  • Great feel, you've captured the essence of Jimmy's recordings

  • Piekne, znalazłam czas by obejrzeć, zapraszam na swoj chanel Monika

  • Thanks for PM ing me about yr video! I collect this man's vinyl records, and the animation has a great effect with the music. It reminds me of the stuff artists used to do in the 1970's, when I was growing up. Thanks.

  • Nicely done! Thanks for posting.

  • * S * U * P * E * R * !!!

  • Great video and music:)

  • Ich habe "die Blues" gern! I hope I said that right. I haven't studied German in 20 years. Your animations are great too!

  • Immer wieder ein Hörerlebnis Framat...cool!

  • Good effort framat and you parlez francais aussi, is there no end to your talent haha! 'keep music live' I know you do hope you have plenty of gigs.

  • One of Jimmy's best

  • @dionysosramon

It is not Jimmy Reed BTW but only me playing all instruments :-) & I created the animation, too.

It is no Jimmy Reed song he recorded but a combination of many things he recorded or people recorded who were influenced by him.

Jimmy Reed will be always in my Top 10 of Bluesmusicians with others like Sam Hopkins, JL Hooker, Slim Harpo, T-Bone Walker, both Sonny Boys, Robert Pete Williams etc.

    Happy 2011 to you

  • cool!

  • I like very much the two tracks of guitar, made of essentials. I hate the noisy chord shuffles of the wannabe bluesmen

  • @Deisinoful

Thank you. I prefer any original Blues from the 20s to 60s to almost every Blues(rock)-virtuoso. I like primitive and minimalistic music. I am not a minimalist, I am not a bluesmusician but I am inspired by the sound&primitive(good) music of people like JIMMY REED etc.

There is even a third guitar-track on this recording (but the accoustic guitar plays only chords on the off-beat and is in the background) because J Reed used a 3rd guitar on recordings (often his teenage-son).

  • @2009framat yes, now that you mention it I can spot very clearly the third guitar. Three guitars and no confusion on a song so clean and simple is a fine accomplishment.

  • sweet!

  • Nice one! Thanks for posting!

    Regards, Marc

  • hearing it good

    R.

  • Nice, keep em coming!!

  • Great music!

  • Thanks for the recommendation. Kudos on the music and the video. Well done.

  • Awesome and cool -:) Great music and animation. ***** - Eddie

  • great work...! i liked...!

  • Great stuff! Jimmy Reed is such an important architect of the music we take for granted, and his graceless faceless CDs sell for $2! Nice to see you keeping the faith!

  • @MrMasmare

    Bon jour e merci beaucoup.

  • @2009framat nice work!

  • Thats good Man!!

  • Pretty cool I must say ...

  • when I think of Jimmy Reed I think of the Rollin' Stones.. very very good medicine !

  • I love this!!...simple ..sparse..just right!

  • very nice--- I enjoyed this !!

  • The Hermonica sounds a little ( Only a little. ) like, John lennon's playing in Love Me Do. If your going to comment, Please do not use profanity, or racist terms. That's all I ask. Thank you.

  • @cw1310

The similarity to John Lennon's harmonica style was pointed out by another commentator already.I am a big fan of Lennon's playing.Though he was not a virtuoso he&the Beatles put things together in their very own way &the songs got suddenly a total different meaning.

Jimmy Reed played like Lennon in the 1st position (and maybe other positions, too?) -M.Jagger played like most 50's bluesmen in the 2nd position.I play in the 1st chorus the 2nd position & then the 1st position.

    Thank you

  • @2009framat Thank You. I should have looked over comments first. I thought of that after I posted, my comment. Non the the less, it's nice that some who plays the instrument agrees with me.

  • @cw1310

No, you gave a very thoughtful comment. And I maybe should do a little tribute to John Lennon.I never was successful when I tried to play in his style but I did not try for several years.I have now a little more knowledge&should give another try :-)

  • @cw1310

I just found out you can play the melody of LOVE ME DO very fine in 2nd position.

    I did not know that

    Bye

  • @2009framat Wait, did you say Jimmy Reed played in 1st pos?. I have about 60 JR trax and I don't hear Any 1st pos. playing. It all sounds like 2nd to me. Maybe I missed something in your post?

  • cool

  • Love your animations. Well done !

  • inspiring...and in sync too!

  • That was awesome! Loved it! You ever need any original music - call!

  • That was awesome! Loved it! You ever need any original music - call!

  • @BluesMamaRaven

    Thank you for your comment.

BTW All my cartoons have already original music hahaha (I played all instruments&the songs are no covers either)-of course everything has already been said by the tributed bluesmasters&their contemporaries decades ago (& in a much better way)

But I am happy you liked it.

  • artistic vid!

  • Awesome! Fantastic!

  • Reaally cool videos!!! The best music!! You're greaaat!!! =D Keep it up!!!

  • i may be wrong but the paul butterfield that i wrote u was in the movie " the last waltz by the band"":...

  • @slapjaxx

yes that is the one I was talking about - you wrote james butterfield - so I was a little confused - hahaha

  • this is fun! great! i love it.

  • This is really excellent I have a lot to learn regards John & Keithj 5*****

  • this is gr8 :))

  • Thank you very much

BTW you have a symphatic face - hahaha

    Have a nice weekend

    bye

  • Really Cool Videos,,,,Great Music Super Cool Video Style,,,,Peace,,,,Dean.

  • great job and video

  • Coole Sache.. :)

  • AWESOME JOB

  • * thankyou~~*

  • real nice,...yeah!

  • Nice video and harp

  • Good job. Very enjoyable. I am a big fan of Jimmy Reed. You play some pretty good harp. Nice video.

  • Love how you put this all together...

Fun to watch & listen ;)

  • Zugabe, Zugabe .......

  • Fein gemacht I LOVE IT !!

  • This is sheer excellence...I love it - You keep the groove going and just cut loose on the top - You are a band leader extraordinaire. Your films are great, but your music is even better! You're a cool cat and a hell of a harp player! Well done...!!! GREAT work!!!!

  • Beschte Grüße aus Baden. Best Greetings from Baden/Germany.

  • Great Song!!!! 5 Stars and Favorite!!! Keep on rocking!!! Best Greetings, Peter

  • Really enjoyed this one.

  • Great Work !

  • loVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS KIND OF MUSIC

  • Sounds beautiful.

    greets,

  • Nice artwork!!! Very evocative of Jimmy Reed for sure. I thought I had already commented on your videos but I can't find my comments, sorry for the mix up. Keep it goin'

  • veryy nice review - belting recording :-)

  • Was heißt "belting" bitte ins Deutsche übersetzt?

  • belting = klasse (ugs.) :-)

    lg

    Robert

  • Now that was a tribute! You are a true talent.some very cool and trippy vids.

  • Thank you.

    Trippy vids - haha

I apreciated your visit very much

  • This is way cool

  • Thank you. I think you realized that there is only one "real" Jimmy Reed video on youtube. I recommend there for Juke Boy Bonner live in 1975. It has excellent quality. This harmonica rack player and blues songwriter was never widely known and died even younger than Jimmy Reed.

You'll find him on my playlist BLUESLEGENDS-SOLO OR SMALL GROUPS.

    bye

  • Bravo! Love the music and love the artwork. 5 stars for sure.

  • Thanks

  • Absolutely amazing, I'm taken aback.

  • Thank you. If you love the original JIMMY REED you will proably dig JUKE BOY BONNER,too.

I 've got a clip in very good quality on my playlist UNKNOWN BLUESLEGENDS. He is even on the thumbnail. He started Music in the late 50's. I have two records of him.A mixture of JIMMY REED & LIGHTNING HOPKINS.Bonner came from Texas, too. He got his nickname from singing in bars to tthe jukebox when he was a kid and had no money to buy an instrument or only the harp.Later he played guitar&harp on a rack

  • Haha,very nice!

  • Thank you for dropping by. I am glad that people still care for this little JIMMY REED tribute.

  • There is one on Sonny Boy II,too, if you have time & like to watch it that would be great!

    Thank you for your visit

    bye

  • play ur harp on my song

    Utube/lomaxxable

then send it to my e mail

  • Thank you for visiting me. I am afraid I am a little short on time.

  • Great!!

  • Thank you. If you like that one it would be a good move to watch my SONNY BOY WILLIAMSON BLUES tribute, too.

  • You wrote the same about the SONNY BOY vid. But the clip is not only about harmonica playing - in fact it is a tribute to JIMMY REED- a complete band is playing (only me,LOL). I know I am no virtuoso but I am no diletant either (only on drums, lol). There is an animation. It is no instruction vid for people who like to play harmonica. How do you rate JIMMY REED as a harmonica player?

  • Don't mean to interrupt, but to reply to your comment, I'm not really a musician but a musical theatre performer and I make films. But I'm really good at percussion.

  • Then you are a musician to me

  • Hey bro, nice stuff ! Keep bluesin'.

  • Thank you, but that is not even my main instrument but I thought it is nearer to a human voice than a guitar solo (since I am not singing in english).

  • interesting stuff good music and animation I liked it.

  • That makes me a little proud & happy, thank you

  • Ilove Jimmy Reed, saw him at Winterland thanks to Bill Graham for bring in all the great blues players during the '60s. I went to gis in the SF almost every weekend from '66 til the '70's

  • It would be great if you would write more about it if you remember & have the time. I would like to know how you can compare the first gigs you saw with the last of JIMMY REED. What backing bands etc.. if you don't mind.Thank you

  • Great video ..Gotta love it *****

    Rocket

  • I appreciate that, thank you

  • Love it, great blues sound.

  • Thank you for your visit

  • I dig that raw bluesy sound!

  • Thank you - I can't play smooth - not only blues but any other music, too. LOL

  • absolutely amazing. You hit my taste.... thanks for your invitation !

  • Thank you - I really like to read that.

  • That is very nice of you and I just listened to old Ludwig van on your channel, bye

  • Hello, Good afternoon!

Thank you so much for your profile reaction.

Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful videoclip and very beautiful blues harmonica playing with us on YouTube, I really enjoyed your playing and your beautiful animations too, well done, my compliments to you, 5*****

Our best wishes to you and your family,

Best regards from Chris and Mayka - The Netherlands - YouTube chrismayka.

  • This is really good, thanks for letting me know. Actually, I don't think I've ever seen any footage of Jimmy Reed although I've always been a fan

  • Thank you.

Only 3 performes on film exist:

1964,1968 & 1975 (my vid is an answer to the 1975 clip).

  • Yeah, one of them comes up in the related videos. Only 3 filmed performances, that's crazy. There must be hundreds of hours of film of some Pop stars (especially today's) who mean nothing, when Jimmy Reed changes lives. I mean it: you hear Jimmy Reed and you're happy, it's impossible to feel unhappy when you listen to his records, like the bit you used for this animation tribute (by the way, it goes straight into my favourites, but where does it come from? Is it actually him or a sound-alike?)

  • It is me playing all instruments. The daughter of J.R. said he could have performed on the ED SULLIVAN show but prefered to play for a live audience becaus that is were he got directly money which could not disappear in the canlas of his management/record company. He was ripped off by the record company VeeJAY like his label mate Curtis Mayfield (who founded because of this his own record label curtom).

  • That's great, thanks for the post. Ever heard Robert Caruso? I've made a video of his song When My Train Comes, have a look, you might like it!

  • Thank you. You did a very good job on the video. Never heard of Robert Caruso before. I have to admid I am very much a purist when it comes to the blues. I found Caruso enjoyable and thank you for mentioning the name and let me listen to his music. But somehow something was missing for my taste - I can't describe it - mabe he is trying to hard to sound like a bluesman. I hope I did not offend you. Again - he was okay and worth*****(but sometimes i make the mistake to compare now & then(1951LOL)

  • Jimmy Reed was atrue great, thanks!

  • Very good.

  • Thank you, 2009framat!I like it!

  • I have to thank you

  • Thank you,

I have written an email to you on how I did it.

  • very nice sir!, i have no idea how one does this but very nice indeed. 5 stars to you

  • Thank you. I think going backwards to find the blues music is the common way unless you are a black senior citizien from the US or were born some 70 years ago in places like Tupelo, Miss. (or both).

  • Nice job..enjoyed them..Im a big blues fan myself..I learned from 70s bands..then went backward in time tracing the roots of the blues..

  • Sweet 5/5

  • thanks

  • A great video! Enjoyed it very much*****

  • I am pleased to hear this! Thank you!

  • woow, cool video, GREAT music, wtg!!!!!!

  • Thank you very much

  • excellent music and video!

  • Thank you, I like to hear that (i admid it).

Later this week a new tribute will be uploaded (but not JIMMY REED).

  • Great work ! and it makes me relaxing while listening to your rendition.

Looking forward to hear more from you !

    Best wishes

    JR

  • Ende der Woche gibt es etwas Neues.

Danke für den KOmmentar & das Interesse.

  • This is fabulous and the video is great. Thanks for this.

    Really cool.

  • Thank you very much

  • Great Video Brother, keep up the good work

  • Thank you - I'll do my best.

This week I will upload a new blues tribute.

  • Thank you for visting, comment & complements.

  • good on ya mate.

  • Great tribute Jimmy would be proud and greatful to see his music live on. keep it up.

  • That is a nice thing to say and it would be a great if JIMMY REED would see it that way.

    Bye & thanks

  • Nice one, keep on playing your music.

Greetings for all the people around here.

  • Thank you. Well, this was a tribute and for that I would not consider as "my music" (even if I played it - but I know what you mean). The next vid will be atribute ,too.

But someday Maybe I will uploaded my own music but I am not sure if it makes sense.

    bye

  • A nice piece, makes you just wanna sit down and relax and let the rest of the world disapear for awhile...

  • Thank you very much. Yes, sometimes we have to relax and JIMMY REED with his relaxed style can help.

    bye

  • Excellent tribute....cool animation, and great music. Thank you for telling me about this, I look forward to seeing more!

  • Thank you very much. Watch out my channel next week for a new animated short film.

  • Very cool video! We did 'Big Boss Man' at a local open mic last night with a few of the regulars.. So was amazed to see this in my inbox this morning.

    thanks for sharing.

    ~Sonya

  • Thank you for your comment and remember nothing happens by accident (or everything).

  • Nice work - I love Jimmy Reed's music...

  • Thank you. He was a great stylist and composer!

  • Cool art! Nice job!

  • Thank you very much. You are right I could have used more images and it would make the vid smoother (I am using only 12 frames in comparison the old silent movies from the 1910's used 18 frames). But that I won't do unless somebody is willing to pay for that kind of work, lol. Maybe you? hahaha

    Greetings

  • Thank you for comments and your invitation.

  • Love the blues man, nice creative video! 5 stars! and thanks for the kind words!

  • Very clever and very enjoyable.

    Well done.

  • Thank you for your comment!

  • Count me in. Jimmy Reed is the best!

  • JIMMY REED was unique and absolut recognizable like his friend HOOKER - maybe a little bit easier to copy on his vocals (It is impossible to copy HOOKER's voice).

  • This sound is delicious!! Loved it!!

Thank u very much for the share!!

    Greetings to Germany!!

    Flávio

  • Thank you Greetings back to Brazil!

  • so cool man, great tribute!!! you got the Jimmy's groove!! *****

  • Thank you. JIMMY REED deserved it!
