  • Most of you.people wanting to do this couldn't even do atc more complicated than you can even imagine

  • Can't wait to be cct tacp or sowt

  • The video dealt with Combat Controller which is a totally different world. Combat controllers are the, first in and last out. Demanding and extremely difficult.

  • LOL! Don in the Video is my buddy from Junior high. lives 4 houses from my grandmother and now I'm a pilot. small world

  • You're more likely to fail during the 2 hour workouts before class than you are during class. I remember we all used to dread the workouts, and be completely dead afterward in class.

  • I like how the regular air traffic controller tech school kids came into class saying they were tired. :P

  • there is no math in air traffic control.. not unless you've got that many aircraft in your pattern and you need to give traffic to follow... and all that is counting a/c which you should be able to do on 1 or 2 hands, and if you cant then you're in serious trouble. all atc math can be done on your hands. any genius can figure it out. CHOMP. ha not.

  • @twistedtheknife based on previous comments in other ATC videos you more than likely are still in tech school or haven't started your OJT yet. Yes this video is about the CCT portion but math is important in ATC. When it comes to Aircraft categories and how many feet you need to let another aircraft land are pretty important. When it comes to radar math is important as well. Don't let those instructors lie to you, numerous places go nonradar and you will need to know math then. Rated over 4years

  • @DopeShowDeath Heres all the math u need, look at the clock and wait two minutes for wake turb, 3 at an intersection... thoes clocks dont count by themselves u know...

  • @twistedtheknife the CHOMP quote totally gives you away. Tech schooler for sure. 334th and doesnt even know what real air traffic is yet. Just wait until you go non-radar and have to figure out how much faster an a/c is then another one and use that to figure out required seperation based on distance from the NAVAID. definately alot of math in atc.

  • @coastfan24 how is there a lot of math in ATC? give me a specific example, cuz im pretty sure u have no idea what youre talking about.

  • Man that was why I wanted radar. Tower seem a lot harder in tec school than radar.

  • Omg seems like yesterday. At the time the atc class was hard but looking back at it, there's some great memories I left behind at Kessler......and bourbon St. Gota love those three day weekends!

  • Im in the Air Force and I just found out that I will be doing air traffic control.. Video was very helpful.

  • @johnyyy Video is nothing compare to what actually happens. All you have to do is remember ther hand outs, and skim by. The real test happens when you get to your base.

  • This is a very informative video, thanks!

  • i have so much respect for these guys. Lives are in their hands.

  • is there alot of MATH in air traffic controlling?

  • @MacdaddyX25 you bet there is. these guys have to understand geometry, trig and know their physical sciences by heart. its not easy by any means.

  • @MacdaddyX25

    no math

  • @loseyourself630 ARE YOU SUUUURE! good ol Sharod101 down thinks so.... who do i beleive?

  • I going to cross train I wanted to know what the ATC school was like with the PT program like was a day schedule like?

  • @jerard82 the schedule was gay. you wake up at 4, then pt from 6 to about 8 30 then go to class from 9 to about 6. 5 days a week for three and a half months. all you have time to do is study and sleep.

  • @emilio083

yeah how about class is from 6am to 3pm everyday and you have pt till around 5. Every other weekend is a three day weekend. Lets learn to tell the truth next time.

  • @loseyourself630 you at Keesler?

  • @loseyourself630 are you talking about combat control portion?

  • man i wish i could of been born good at hand written work

  • My experience with military controllers has been aweful, especially in the Carolinas. If you don't query them, the vector you all over and maybe forget you! It's happened to me!

  • Ahahha yes, the schoolhouse! Note the static board of Canyon AFB XD

  • oh? what was that? expect ILS approach RWY 21R??

    or did you say

check wheels down, RWY 21R, wind 210 @ 5, altimeter 2-9-9-2, cleared to land?

    :D

    ahh memories....

    334th! CHOMP!!!

  • Weak. Why would you give the altimeter in a landing clearance? Must be a radar controller.

  • school house teachings.

    yeah... RAPCON

  • @BLaCkKsHeEp

    O ya! lol

  • @BLaCkKsHeEp lol go Gators!

  • @Runaholism swamp

  • this makes ATC look easy, why dont they show our rucks on the beach and throw some RADAR in there (Approach anyone?) now we have something lol

  • BAH this is only tower..... RADAR is where it's at! :P I remember the instructor at 1:16 lol :-S

  • Oh wow, now its up for me. I guess there was something going on with youtube and me
