@0xTheMaster0x you are WAYYY more likely to get banned, and if VAC bans you, any game you have on steam will not work anymore. happened to me. dont cheat on the real version.

@0xTheMaster0x if u buy the retail version, you need steam no matter what to play it. it is not like cod4 at all. there are no dedicated servers in the retail or mods. only on alteriwnet. go ahead and try it, but i warn you. thats how i got banned.

@re4fighter good choiuce, i got it for pc first. then i got a ps3 so i got it for ps3 too. no copetition i prefer the pc version better because its easier to control. i only play it on ps3 for split screen, cuz pc doesnt have splitscreen :P

@joelk91 yep, so did i, ones behind the other. the second one is to finsih installation, because the max u can fit on a dvd is 8.5 gigs, the games is 11 so the installation will continue on a seperate disc. you dont even need the discs inside ur pc to play.

@joelk91 did u switch the discs when it told u too? and its possible, if you have really slow internet, beacause thats where steam gets the updates, but i think thats highly unlikely. My update took a few seconds :S

@chrabalowski Nah i did it differently after failing to install it 1st time when i was on steam i closed it inserted disc 1 again and it installed from the Disc instead of downloading it from steam.

to play online you use ur steam user name and its linked to the account. so u have to have a steam account to play. its free

i chose the pc version because ive been doing pc gaming since i got my first computer when i was 6.

okay i have 2 possible solutions but they might not work. it depends on what pc and network card you have.

what you do is start sp first and go to two player online and then alt+tab and start multiplayer. and then press play.

the second is if you have a laptop or wireless connection. turn of the wireless card and use a wire.

both of these helped for me
