As someone that never watched the series and yet is a fan of Knight Rider, I can say that the problem is that the marketing made it sound like they were rebooting the series. After reading the Wiki article, the show sounds like something I'd actually like. But also, the original show was just enough tech to make it seem possible. The new series seemed even far fetched for todays tech. But I hate that the new series fell flat, even if it does seem to ignore Team Knight Rider :p.
