Urban Myer is paid to win games, not please the Youtube crowd. He treats the players like he would his own. Why should he severely punish a player who has basically stayed out of trouble his entire career and came back for his senior year instead of going to the NFL in the first round? Georgia was playing dirty all game, from late hits to ripping off helmets and Spikes took matters into his own hands and the cameras caught him with his fingers in the face mask, not gouging.
