The blue valve cover is on the SR16VE and this is the black valve cover SR20VE.... well it was black but is now painted red :) Still developing this car, she made 142.5wkw when she was on the dyno a week ago & there's more in her yet.
@Traxxas1992 - This VE was running 12.5:1 compression so wasn't suitable for boost. A SR20DET came up really cheap so I decided to do something new. I sold the VE engine for twice as much as it cost to buy & fit the DET.
This car and the one I was talking about in the post above will be back at the Torque Performance Dyno day on September 1st in case your interested. Both cars will have had a couple of tweaks done by then so it will be interesting to see if we can get better numbers.
We have one of the guys in the NZPCC who made 130 with a stock internals engine with Franklin Stage 2 cams, daughterboard in the ECU, Stillen Pop-Charger, 370cc injectors & Extractors with 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust. He was also having problems with a leaking injector & has improved his intake since so may beat my numbers at half the cost! You can hit 130 with SR16VE cams, been done so you should hit your goal :)No 1/4 mile yet sorry.
i have a sr20ve sr16ve hybrid (using the 1600 head in the 2ltr) 16 has more agressive cam profile. but thinking of getting some lumpy ones for a bit more juice. also still waiting on my link that i hope to have in soonish. target is the 130kw mark... which you have surpassed alrealy! i am now....extremely jealous! havent got any 1/4 mile times yet?
The ECU is a Bikirom from Australia & had a few teething problems as first time in a P11. Numbers should be higher for the mods: Ported head, high comp pistons, 8cw crank, Franklin S4 cams, Fujitsubo Extractors & 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust, Nismo FPR, Walbro Fuel pump, 370cc injectors. Hoping to go back on at start of Sept & then after that the car's getting new head, cams, exhaust & intake in the hope of hitting 150. Already have another head on the way to get ported & cams made.
We only made 133.7 KW this time and I haven't been able to put her back on since 'cause of an ECU fault. The ECU fault was present during this run & meant we took timing out so really keen to see what she does when the new ECU arrives.
cool during rev up at 1:19 and 1:20secs it seems to instantly kick up a notch, what is happening here? is this a second stage boost or something. Sound real nice
The engine has Nissans NEO VVL. that extra sound you hear is the lift kicking in. Its like honda Vtec but better. Nissan was actuly one of the first companys to use VV timing. They just kept it over in japan shafting the rest of the world
N1 camshafts?

@Xbox360Player350 Yep, the intake cam and exhaust cam can switch over to the high lobes independently of each other.
