One of the elder monks in Athos had divine vision. His spirit was brought to the paradise where he saw angels singing a very beautiful song on celestial language. This song was so indescribably wonderful that he was able to remember only one word from it- "Terirem".

That's the story of this song.

Terirem is a series of non special meaning words that were added to certain hymns to extend the length of some divine sequences. Over the years they started to be a kind of extraordinary melody coming from the angels as they characterized as the melody of the angels.

Only very qualified few were able to perform those melodies. Theodoros Vassilikos is one of the few selected performers of our times. When you hear him you think that you hear an ambassador speaking on your behalf with the God.

It's like "dobedo" or "tralala". Just syllables that, according to the tradition, were sung by the Mother of God when she cradled her son Jesus.
