I think that once a player reaches a certain level of skill we have to just say that they are a soccer god and be done with the discussion because the difference in skill/effectiveness becomes insignificant.

For instance, it would be no easy task to choose between R9, Dinho, Messi, Maradonna, Pele, Cruyff, etc. They are just godlike and their effectiveness all depends on the formation/plan.

Every one has their own dribbling style. Look at Messi, he's fast, has a brilliant control and he knows how to pull out a great body feint or move the ball away from the defenders the right moment when they tackle. That's a good idea instead of using various stepover combinations like Ronaldo. :)
