  • Simple as that for your simple ass

  • Also why the Hell did the producer leave the standard neon lights flashing totally out of tune?

  • These early '80s consumers were clearly not ready for the concept of Dazzle Ships. Look at the bemused faces on TOTP.

It is telling that OMD peaked with this album. Their first four works are all flawless, then after the cold genius of Dazzle Ships they slid into mid '80s synthpop mediocrity; I like some of it but they were just so much better early on.

  • Cool. Just saw them a few months ago. Love OMD.

  • simplemente genial......

  • such a cool performance.

  • so trippy

  • Bit of a pity the lads misspelled Frankenstein...

  • this is way ahead their time. pure genius.

  • OMG!!! Wow, never seen anything like this before! Amazing!!!!

  • Yeah, the Emulator did low end(8-12 bit digital sampling on the first model)samples but they could be fed back through analogue filters similar to those on Prophet 5 keyboards which gave the Emulator a grittier playback compared to the Fairlight. They just didn't(or weren't allowed to)have the Emulator on stage with them and just had the Revox doing it's thing in the background(at least New Order had the balls to have it on stage and not be forced to mime-btw, love both bands).

  • Audience: "wat"

  • fantastic Performance

  • Good to see 3-2-1's Ted Rogers getting some extra work with that well-known hand gesture of his.

  • @oo1ooo1oo pmp now where is dusty bin god im old for rememberin that lol

  • and this was all analogue!

  • @x6aM3R

    analogue? man, this is hand-cranked!

    [Tiz good though]

  • @x6aM3R I'm not entirely sure that an Emulator - which was used heavily on the 'Dazzle Ships' album - could be described as entirely 'analogue'...

  • Anytime an artist does something like this its to be commended...and the melody/beat is flawless....thanks

  • love OMD, love KiD CuDi, love that music is changing

  • they always doing gutsy moves on television.

  • Kid Cudi Samples OMD!

  • 'Tell a bitch get gone with her simple ass"

  • Oh the brilliance of the '80s is encapsulated in this uber-amazing clip. But I gotta ask what happened to Ted Rogers and Dusty Bin?

  • "FrankensTIENS" monster...,but an excelent synthpop song...

  • I thought even now, it was great. Until I realised they managed to spell Frankenstein wrong.

I find it hard not to cringe now. Pity, but these things are basic.

  • well done!:D

  • Thanks :)

  • G O S H! I have uploaded this before in poor quality, never seen it in perfect picture! DOUBLE THANK YOU! you made my day!

  • Absolutely stunning! Barking mad in the best possible way. If Andy McCluskey sees this now, I hope he is proud - you wouldn't get this on television now.

  • No

Theres not much experimental stuff out there now.

    They were golden times.
