I thought Austin looked very very 'springy' for a big guy in '93-'94 but had a smaller physique in those years. He seemed less athletic in WWE, I think he was bigger physically esp in the legs, and had bad knees prior to even signing for Vince and a reattached tricep and seperated shoulder shortly prior to his WWE days.

In terms of working a match, he was FAR more technical in WCW. I thought he was phenomenal. I thought WWE dumbed-down his in-ring work. Don't get me wrong, his promos in WWE made him the biggest draw in history, but his in-ring work in WCW was excellent.

His neck wasn't broken until Aug of 1997. The ringmaster crap and the original feud with Bret was simply mediocre. Not the WM 13 match, obviously, which was a great brawl, but everything else he did in WWE from Dec 1995 until Owen broke his neck was simply less than he was truly capable of, and I don't blame him, I blame WWE.

Look at his WCW work with Steamboat, Sting, Muta, he and Pillman against the Horsemen, against Shane Douglas and Steamboat, and it's clear that WWE asked much less of him.
