While I've been into the moon very intensely and feeling the connection I've been searching to trade my fender telecaster for a quality acoustic on CL including my Boss GT6. I used to own a Taylor 410 but had to sell it to make my car payment as I was living out of my automobile. Well, long story short...a man responded to my trade with a Luna phoenix Artist (Japan). I made out big time in the trade! The moon must have assisted! I'm amazed at the sound especially amplified it's amazing!

Yes, we change manufacturers back in 2009 and our new models have a mahogany back and sides which give it a warmer tone. We also upgraded the preamp to b-band and the neck inlay is rosewood. It's a beautiful instrument and I believe you will be well pleased with the updated version.

Hello Luna team, I'm seriously considering buying the Oracle Zen model acoustic but I've found a problem.The main luna guitars website gives the description as the guitar having mahogany back and sides. Now, I'm not sure if this is an update of the models newer productions, but I have seen the guitar being normally advertised with maple back and sides on online dealers. When/why did this manufacturing change?

@ADISAKNIKASOKA Hello.....Yes, we are happy to report that our male/female ratio of players hovers right at about 50/50. Our folk, dreadnought and grand concert profiles would be good choices, though a lot of males also like the smaler parlor profile. Our profiles are very similar to those of the other guitar manufacturers.

My favourit one is the Fauna Dolphin not only that it's available as a left hand version being a left hand player i really appreciate that you mostly face a small range of guitars being made for leftys.

Hello. I recently purchased an Apollo and a Full Hollow Athena (in the sun finish! BEAUTIFUL) I'm 21 and recently lost my use of my back for lifting things more than a case of soft drinks. I've been dying to play guitar for years & I am finally starting the process. I have been looking at guitars for a while & Luna immediately got my attention. They are so beautifully made, and I think that to play the guitar you should have a sort of attraction to your instrument. As of right now I am trying to decide between the Gypsy Spalt and Flame. I watched the demonstration videos and they sound beautiful as well. I think i will be very happy with either choice. Thank you!

I just found a picture of one of these with a Luna Moth inlay and instantly fell in love. Now after checking out the website and watching the video, I'm even more in love! I'm a girl guitarist and I find traditional guitars to be heavy, bulky, and with fretboards way too large for my tiny hands. I can't wait to find one of these in person to see what it sounds/feels like.

P.S. I'm also a visual artist, so the design element really, really excites me!

One day, I found a picture of the Lotus, didn't know it's name, I only saw 'Luna' on it. I just had a picture and stared at it for hours. I fell in love with a guitar I didn't know much about. I even named my hamster Luna. Then, one day, when I was checking the site of a store closeby, I found her. The Lotus. And now, I just got to find some work to get the money.

You can go on all you want about practice solving the problem. But I also have a left wrist that was broken in two places a few years back. I'm left handed but I learnt to play right handed as a kid and I don't want to change over now.

Basses aren't very heavy, but i think they're comfortable. i saw it one the website, and I don't think the Gypsy model is very fresh. It just looks like an ordinary bass.

We spend more time on tone and sound than anything else. This piece is about what makes Luna different and how the company began. The exclusion of sound in the discussion is not a forgone conclusion that Luna thinks sound does not matter.

@DMR90Guitar Mine sounds really good actually. The slim body is balanced out with really hot rodded pick ups. Mine sat in the corner for about 6 months after I got my Les Paul, but I just picked it up again for the slim neck, and than realized how good it sounded for shredding due to the hot pick ups.

I love Luna Guitars! The guitar store that I work/teach at is a Luna dealer and I'm gonna be buying one very soon. The store owner bought one of the highest end acoustics for his son recently and I played it and liked it way better than any Martin/Guild/Taylor I've ever played. A fair comment. But here's something to considder (an odd comparison but bare with me). I used to do Living History shows (the kind where you dress up as a roman and fight).

When I was having my sword designed, my partner suggested it be hilt heavy with a slightly reduced leangh. The swords smith thought this was crazy! But when we went to collect it he told us he'd nearly kept it for himself!

I guess some variants from the norm don't make sence till you get hold of the thing and try it.

Can Luna design a flamenco/henna cutaway guitar with cypress sides, peg head planetary tuning keys and back with cedar top ( no lamenation,please) with a 1 7/8 nut?Guitarists with this in mind have come from classical guitar backgrounds and enjoy the transfer to the flamenco guitar with nylon strings and wide neck.

I've noticed in your catalogue that Luna made a nylon string guitar but the neck was way too small for me to play.

Our nylons were made for players who wanted a regular neck but preferred nylon strings. We do not have any plans for a flamenco guitar for 2010 as we have many other offerings, but perhaps the following year. Thank you for your suggestions.

Some of our artist models have been made in the US, but to keep our instruments affordable, our instruments are designed here and manufactured in Japan, Korea and China to strict specifications. Throughout the design and construction process Yvonne maintains close communicationwith our manufacturers. Each instrument receives a detailed set up when they arrive in our Tampa headquarters.

These guitars are beautiful. I've been looking to get a Neo, or a 12 string Athena. As others have stated, I haven't seen or played one in person, but they look like really good quality. The price is unbelievable as well. I think you have a good product, and you're right, it is slow to break into this market since a musician's choice of instrument is mainly inspired by what other musicians are using. These frets looked crowned in the picture. That's what I prefer to play on.

Not that the guitars aren't pretty, but how good is the wood? What's the quality? Remember, second-rate guitar companies get second-rate wood.

First of all we are not a second rate guitar company. We have been manufacturing guitars for over 30 years. We started the Luna Brand 5 years ago. We use A- Grade Spuce and spend alot of focus and resources on bracing, resonance and other sound-related issues.

We are a small company and depend a lot on word of mouth. We don't spend money on traditional advertising as we prefer instead to gain exposure by donating guitars to non-profits to auction. It's a win/win situation.

Regarding our electrics....they are basswod, mahoghany, and ash. We are in apx. 300 independent music stores and

on Amazon and Musician's Friend. Slow but sure!
