  • hola

  • If I call from the U.S. to a mobile phone in Israel using my google minutes will there be charges on my verizon bill as well?

  • can you do international texting??

  • 0:06 See! Portugal is a country!

  • this is great my mom always calls the U.K. from California and at .02 cents a minute that is amazing im going to cancel AT&T right now! thank you google!

  • giggle... funny below. funny.

  • Typical Yankee crap thinking.

Like the rest of the world is "International" but the USA is "National."

Uh huh. So this Google thing is obviously only for Americans living in America.

Fine. You don't have my business, Giggle.

  • @ezekieloak I agree. Giggle are jerks!

  • I tried GV on my EVO and wound up using all my anytime minutes with Sprint because GV uses landlines. I thought that the calls would be going over the interwebs like Skype. If I call international will I have the same problem? I saw your video on making internationals calls, but it was not clear if a landline was used.

  • @p7272 No it shouldnt, because google will connect your phone using their servers, so your carrier will believe its a domestic call not international.

  • @lunabrian Right it uses there servers, but watch GV and you will see that it call a regular number and thats why my minutes were used up by GV. I thought it was more like Skype, but I was wrong. All you have to do is watch the app as its dials a regular number to place your call.

  • @p7272 Yes your right it does use up your minutes, but what i meant is for international calls your carrier will think is a domestic call because google is connecting you with a domestic number. Also try to understand skype is less reliable than gv because it uses internet to connect and when your somewhere with no good data connection you will be force to use your regular number.

  • Thanks for the review, but was it really necessary to read out all the menu choices in google voice? Most people can read already, no need to waste time pointlessly. Also, the app is available in the AppStore, so there.

  • Google Voice is just a junk. I have registered for one year, and I haven't found it useful or convenient. The app on Andriod doesn't even have a menu to setup the call forwarding number. It can not forward calls to international number. The voice menu has some non working options...

Any major VoIP application is much better than Google Voice.

  • FINDLAY IS FAMOUS!

  • Love that google is doing this.. cell phone companies are making way to much money.. hopefully this will make it more affordable for the consumer. .. i'm sure all the people complaining about this works for at&t and verizon

  • I went to Vontrump.com and found the voip products available there really cool. We are able to make calls even to UK & Canada.

  • Google voice sucks, there is no international availability.

  • I have the app but it does not work

the hell with this iCall works so much better than this crap

  • i'm pretty sure that google and apple have made a deal.

  • thanks for sticking it to at&t nice and good.

  • I have android but everytime I try calling from my cell

I get a msg "unable to connect pls try again"

also I want to delete the option of whenever I dial a number it opens the option screen of google voice call with google voice

    call without google voice

  • I registered with Google voice. I am not able to place internatonal call by dialling to my google voice number

  • thnx Google for inviting me.....love this!

  • Thanks google voice for inviting me

  • How can I get an invite?

  • @tooosweeet

u dont need an invite now...u can just sign up i did w/o an invite just google "google voice" in google and it will ask you to get started etc.

  • Hopefully it will be available soon for international use indeed. Google will be the cheapest :)

  • What I would like to know is how they can guarantee the cost of the call, as surely as you must dial out on your phone your carrier can controll the cost of that call... or is it a VOIP thingy i'm confused as to how it will work!!

  • This doesn't work. I call my GV number and get my voicemail (no problem), but I get no prompt to dial. If I press '2', '#' or '0' it simply starts the VM right away. This use to work, and so when I tried to do this again I was confused. What happened???

  • Call you GV # .. when it is ringing press teh STAR key, then your PIN, then the 2 key., THEN you cal dial OUT

  • Nice! :-) 5 stars

  • Jason Toss? who the f**k would want to call him???

  • When will google voice be available internationally?

  • There are insane legal problems with supporting phone service globally. Most of them are related to taxes and laws. For the longest time Skype didn't support CID in the US because of a legal requirement to associate a number with an address for 911 purposes. Then there is the 'wiretapping' laws in every country. Finally, telephones are HEAVILY taxes all over the world. No sovereign nation wants GV to come in and circumvent a revenue stream.

  • @sideswipe091976 Hmmm, thanks for the insight.

  • @wellermj69 never cause google is US BASED :)

  • @wellermj69 use a proxy if u want.

  • International calls aren't the same thing as international availability :((

  • @caturn88 "Well said that man" Im using voice but its a bit tricky with the US slant...google will come through in the end im sure they realise there is a world outside the US. Can understand them growing in their own back yard first....just when the rest? Well perhaps not China :o)
