David Byron era un cantante pazzesco, se penso a quanto hanno sempre pompato Robert Plant, Byron se lo mangiava vivo. Una delle più grandi voci del rock insieme a Gillan, Dio e Paul Rodgers.
This people is proof that the music of the 70's was the greatest rock period of all time. Real people playing instruments at the top of their game. Now the crowds are raped by the multi national recording companies that force us to listen to the same crappy music on every channel, it's called rotation. As a sign of protest i'm disconnecting cable. I warned them and they didn't change so the buck stops. Thank good for YouTube, thanks for posting.
@zgolijan you said it man i mean everyone has a right to like what they like but what they like is usally serious crap. Someone show man a better time frame starting say in1965 going though 1975.. That is the best 10 years of music.
David Byron was an amazing performer with a voice to match. I had the luck to see them in concert in L.A. around '73-74. I was wowed, but thought the concert promoter was wack for picking Buddy Miles as a opening band. I liked " Rockin and Rollin on the Streets of Hollywood" but that was whack to mix the 2 genres.
Dear jeffdavis, I'm sure it was good. Otherwise, these here are two different line-ups, one with Gary Thain on bass (who passed away, I liked very much his rich textures) and other with John Wetton (ex King Crimson). What to say? Great music.
I saw them at the Great Rock Express 3 day concert in Bad Cannstatt, Germany in 1974. Uriah Heep, Bad Company, Rod Stewart, and Babe Ruth. Took me a week to get over it, and it changed my whole life. Whether that was good or bad is yet to be seen. Stay tuned.
@jeffdavis55 It must of been change for the good because you are still here, remembering and writing. I'd say you faired better than a lot of our friends :)
good day bulgaria, missed the event of the year, however i endeavour to be there next july 1st, to watch the sunrise with this song being played live, doing a very good cover i must say, wow what a feeling, euphoria it must be!!. its worth the 4 hour flight. luv to all xxxx
I second the agreements. What a great voice, energetic, organ backed, dynamic head-cracking open band. Lots of great memories here. Thanks for posting this classic. @starvilla 1 - So true : not under-rated, just came up at a time that was rich with many excellent, inspired rock bands. Mass appeal never equals critical greatness, in music, film, writing or anything else. Hail to the individual! Life is truly enriched by the few who have the balls to change and recreate it.... Pax Aeternum
have always adored this song, the instrumentation is just so intense & tight! this song reminds me of my youth, when i discovered this band. my love grew with every album i found yet still no one else around me seemed to have heard of them. sadly, that's still the case. never understood why they were so underrated.
penso uno dei gruppi piu' sottovalutati della Storia...specialmente in ITalia...rispetto a Deep Purple e Led Zeppelin sono misconosciuti ,eppure avevano Tutto
@Bulgakov73 i think i understand what you saying but under-rated doesn't mean not good, just less popular and that's okay because when you talk about this group at the new generation of useless musician they look at you like a genius!!! ciao
@starvilla1 "The fact that millions of people share the same vices does not make these vices virtues, the fact that they share so many errors does not make the errors to be truths, and the fact that millions of people share the same form of mental pathology does not make these people sane." -Erich Fromm
@starvilla1 "The minority, the ruling class at present, has the schools and press, usually the Church as well, under its thumb. This enables it to organize and sway the emotions of the masses, and make its tool of them."

This was my very first concert....I still have the ticket stub.....I feel very fortunate to have grown up when I did and seen all these awesome bands. Age does have it's benefits!!!
A pop-up quiz. Get 2 maybe 3 almost opera singers that are clever songwriters. Give them three one hundred watt MARSHALL stacks, three 200 watt Accoustic stacks, a 350 lb. Hammond B-3 organ with duel rotating Leslie cabinets, Stage rattling drummer, precision bass player. Who do you have? OK, one more hint. They got there name from a character out a, I believe a Charles Dickens Novel.Does anyone have it???
Im glad i was there. Like has been said: Never again will music be so DAM cool and mind moving. These were our GODS back then. There was no MTV or any of that crap. You could not wait to buy tickets to see them because you knew you were in for a hell of a good time. Raw live immpecable performances. Awesome vocals. Thankyou GOD for such great times and memories!
I remember having this album and playing it over and over. Thanks to all the Heepsters out there for their posting of this classic band which never did really gain the recognition, in my opinion, they deserved.
I always hear people complain that the 70's were such a dismal decade. Bull!!
The music of the 70's led by bands such as The Heep were just awesome. Such a time will never come again and I wouldn't trade a minute of it for anything!!
Listened to this on top of a Q-Hut at Rockville Iceland on my b-day in 1972 on July 8th with M. Nakamura from Hawaii. He said he was whale watching... he could have been! I was killin time waiting for g-friend Maggie to sneak in the site. Got the album Look at Yourself in Iceland.
