  • @Piggod83 Google hyper threading and Pentium 4s then come back and comment here.

  • @Piggod83

Atom 330 have 2 cores and 2 thread per core.... 2x2= 4 thread (that is on task manager)....

  • @Piggod83 an single core Atom has 2 threads running in windows

  • @Piggod83 Do your research about the architecture behind Intel procs... geez, man.

  • not bad :)

  • great video give me a idea of what is going to be on my new atom video out put =)

  • Well hopefully am getting the new D510MO to play with. :)

  • Am uploading the D410PT quickie tests right now.

  • very nice vid many thanks. :)

  • intel reference board... blame them.... also could be the itx psu... i just shoot the volume on the speakers a bit higher up.

  • Better go read more about cpus kid, especially intel ones. Check out the term Hyper Threading.

  • Which graphics has been used for this benchmark? As far as i know my cpu utilization on a dual core 2.5ghz e5200 cpu while playing 1080p is around 50-90% while your atom is utilized to only around 50-60%...Cant be unless your using some pretty good graphics or using a hardware decoder.

  • I am using Core AVC. That's probably the reason. It is the most efficient and the most powerful h.264 codec out there.

  • And by far the one with the worst quality and most image artifacts... but yes, without a doubt, the fastest one out there

  • How do you connect it to your LCD? Does the intel gfx output 1920x1080 on the SUB-D out? Or did you use a PCI graphics board?

  • Yeah it can push out 1920x1080 thru d-sub. No need a pci card for that.

  • what do u think about the upcoming nvidia ion platform ?

  • I use CoreAVC for playback, going straight into the VMR7 Renderer, no chance to get 1080p working, I get ~20 frames. Only 720p works.

  • User Overlay render. The damn GMA500 cant hack it on hardware rendering.

  • My recommandation is getting an AMD AM2 cpu with a 780G chipset mobo. They come in mini-itx (uses laptop ram instead of normal ram)or mATX. The 780G can handle Blu-Ray n HD DVD on hardware n if u get a dvi to hdmi cable u can output straight to a HDTV.

  • I'm going to be purchasing either the atom 230 or 330, and all I need it for is video playback when I go to friends houses.

Just for clarification, Blu-Ray rips encoded using h.264@1080P on the 330 will run just fine but the 230 will stutter? Also, what are the fps like on each?

    Thanks.

  • Since Windows 7 will have software emulation for Dx10 maybe there might be some better performance gains... or it could end up worse...

  • Emulation never ends well. Intel already said a normal IGP (965) DX10 gets better Frame rates than a quad core in software DX10 mode...I doubt it, but, who knows?

  • At that point a lot of ppl will look for the cheapest/performance intel cpu to pair with that igp for standard PC use. Which means their main stream n higher lines will take a hit. Anyways, if ppl wanted cheap/high performance Dx10, AMD X2 cpus with the 780G n 790G chipsets r by leagues better than anything intel mobo/cpu combo.

  • this atom uses normal 945? poulsbo?

  • We can only dream :) Its only a GMA950.

  • Yeah hyperthreading....... what u think u can get a quad core chip that cheap??!? This is not AMD :P

  • 4 cores? must be 2core with hyperthreading?

  • Now when you click a HD mov file in Apple's Trailer Quicktime Alternative will download the file or play on media player classic. I suggest download. Secondly, it will rename the hdmov. This is to enable optimised filters in MPC to play the mov efficiently with directshow filters. With CoreAVC you can play it no problem.

Otherwise I will make a short video with the renamed hdmov and name it back to mov then run it again unoptimised.

  • Go to free-codecsDOTcom get codec 8.3 and quicktime alternative. At this point uninstall your quicktime plugin. Install Codec 8.3 and choose only coreavc (not the audio one). Install Quicktime Alternative (quicktime may have some files still running even though you uninstalled it. If so reboot if Quicktime Alternative states during install it can't overwrite a file). At this point if you have bought a license for Quicktime Pro you can add it in the configation option.

  • Go to cccp-projectDOTcom and get the CCCP codec pack. Install using the media player classic setup. In start-program files-CCCP go to the ffdshow video filters. Choose no filter for h.264

  • D945GCLF2 can not playback true 1080p H.264. The video you seen is probably a conversion file. True 1080p files are the ones from Apple download HD. I tried them on my D945GCLF2 and it doesn't work. Only 720p works.

  • :( I know, here is 90€ or 115$

  • Hey, looks like i can post comments here now. :) So, thank you for this helpfull video.

Please check your private messages here on YouTube, i sent you request ;)

  • Actually, I'll be getting my hardware this 7th (mini-itx casing, 2 gb ram, etc..) to build the 330 into a complete system since I don't want to take apart the 230 system just to test the new settings and updated software.

Might as well make it my media and surfing pc. Lucky, electricity is cheap in malaysia.

  • I'll be using a new filter string, a newer version of the CCCP and the CoreAVC and see if I can make Blu-Ray and HD DVD work.

A viewer from Hungry has asked me to try out a video of the Olympics they encoded so I'll be happy to give it a shot.

  • Hey. Just some corrections: my country's name is Hungary (i guess your spellchecker made this :)). And the video i linked to you is not a self encode, it's a saved down part of a DVB-T broadcast. It's exactly the same stream what's aired.

Anyway, thanks, and waiting for your test :)

  • Comment test.

  • Being smart as I used Opera to post on Blogspot. I have corrected the Opera induced errors so the 330 post should work fine now.

  • It was about USD15 more than the Atom 230 from Intel (D945GCFL).

  • how much did it cost you?

  • its around 90 dollars US, the processor comes with the board
