The DA's office does not have to answer to the city Council, generally, but some info. is public.

Tom Rogers is not an elected official, but in case you are wondering about his ethics, the fact is, he violated the law in a high profile case, and the court even made a specific finding that he violated the law. It was in the Virginia Bailey murder case in Berkeley, secret taping of the suspect, without a warrant. Search online, and you will find it.

Why is elected official TOM ROGERS of the Alameda County District Attorney's office afraid to show up in public to answer some questions?!
LAME. Vote this guy out. We, people of Oakland, want a DA who will actually prosecute shoplifters, car thieves and muggers!
