the only reason the lines are longer in the uk is because more people can get helath care. Lets say in the us 500 people a day visit a hospital because they are the only ones who can get treatment so 500 people get treated. in the uk anyone can get treatment so 1000 people might visit the hospital that day and more than 5000 people get treated. which is better? even if all 1000 people don't get treated. the more the better. socialized medicine is the only type of health care that should exist.
According to the WHO The UK has the 17th best health service in the planet. The USA has the 37th best health service. Even though the UK is poorer and spends less of a % of it's encomt on health. The Amerixcan health service is be,low Costa Rica and only two places above Cuba. It is not rocket science socialised medicne its better.

We as brits may bitch about the NHS, but hardly anyone would say lets go the private way.

The right to chose? The right to chose not to have an operation because its too expensive and not free. That sounds like a great choice
