jeff buckleys will always be the best version. the song is meant to be sung softly and passionately. that's why i hate alexandra burkes version..she sings it well but it's not right for the song..she makes it all epic with the background choir..it's meant to be a peaceful, soft sung song in my opinion.

john cale...probably the best all round voice for this song...great versions by most people but this one tends to capture the moment so well...first time i heard the song was at the end of the movie BASQUIAT,,1996...again john cale..then in SHREK...UK VERSION..so many people only aware of it via jeff buckley..listen to leonards popular version..(he has written versions containing around 12 verses)..supposed to be about the breakdown of a sexual/physical relationship!?!?!
