I'm glad someone uploaded this so I don't have to. Easily one of my favorite of their recordings. Thom's vocal performance is amazing. I always get goosebumps when his voice first comes in.
@lasrarities yes, thom is playing the acoustic guitar, but colin is playing the keyboard (distortioned bass sound), Johnny is playing the electric guitar with a violin bow, as his favorite guitarist, jimmy page did. he also plays Onde Martenot at the end, at a very high tone. and Ed plays guitar (clean and distortioned), most of the time, plays his guitar on the other side of the guitar nut, and it gives the "ting" sound (more likely at the begining, when thom starts singing...).
@theleo2004 Might I humbly submit an extension of the most epic moment ever? While I totally agree with you, I really gotta say the most epic moment ever really isn't the most epic without the scream at 4:02...
This is one of Radiohead's best (which is no easy task) I have seen them atleast 5 times and this song never tires. The only song I need them to play is "Letdown" and I shall be at peace.
i used to have a cd a looong time ago with this and i think no surprises. i wonder if anyone knows what other tracks there were and where i could find'em.
the album is OK computer. 1. airbag 2. paranoid android. 3. subterranean homesick alien 4. exist music (for a film) 5 let down 6. karma police 7.. just google it man..
i thumbed you back up to even, b/c i'm guessing you meant "killin it" as in "he's doing an incredibkle job." it's hard to tell with slang these days...
wow.. how do they perfome a song like this live and make it sound like... better than perfect? i never thought they could outmatch the studio version, which already is godly piece of music.
and Thom's voice is frigging awesome here, especially at the end ^^
Thom's voice in this version is a shade more sinister and haunted than on the album version....he just sounds almost possessed by demons on this one, fucking goosebumps version of this track.
This is definately the best live version I have heard. Better than the album in all ways except the final scream he does. On the album its absolutely terrifying, while this ones still good I think Thom is afraid he'll blow his voice out if he goes all out in concert.
in the live versions thom occasionally sings "i am the face as she sleeps tonight"
but on the album version its "its always best when the light is off/covers up" not sure exactly of the correct lyric, but he does have 2 different lyrics he uses
he must of thought of that lyric after he recorded it =p
this is an awesome version of it but you have to look at the glastonbury version (2003) it's amazing...look to ur right its in the menu there see?? check it out you wont be sorry!!
This seriously is better than the album version, but I do miss Thom's impressive scream. Munch's Scream is also the perfect backdrop to the song, it makes me think of panic attacks and anxiety...
i love how the instruments all ascend in pitch slowly at the end at the 2nd last 'climbing up the walls', but i wish thom did that awesome scream live
....dude wtf ...this is some creepy ass shit here I was thinking the studio version was freaky

3:40~3:50 is one of the most epic moments ever.
Thom's distorted acoustic guitar in the center, Ed's clean guitar on the right and Jonny's massive strings, all playing a completely different part.
Fucking awesome.
theleo2004 1 year ago
@theleo2004 Thom's is the clean guitar, the distortion is Colin's bass with a fuzz box
