been making those for about 15 years now ha ha there are some things you didnt mention. the round shoe laces are the ones wanted stay away from flat shoelaces. and also when inserting the needle you want to put some super glue on the needle then stick the needle through otherwise after a little while your needle will start falling out of the lace do to the contact of whatever it is hitting pushing on the needle.

i did this. however im smart and used a Air rifle that normly penitraits metal i use this dart and no joke it ripped through 2 30cm pillows but i didnt use a shoe lace i used a normal pellet and a needle but thanks for the idea!

Another thing to use is air soft bbs it will shoot air soft bbs at around 100 fps my cheap 10 $ from walllll mart shoots just as fast as the bb in the straw well fps may be lower it say 120 fps on gun

i used an "edding 1300 18 germany" pen it took me hours to take apart i give credit to the guy who designed it (and i used plyers!!!) but its worth it i acidentily shot myself with it and you couldent see the needle beacause it had gone so deep!! it went through cords (a type of pants).

I made a blow dart gun with 3/4" pvc with a valve and air compressed tank. I like your idea with the shoelaces but I found that taping a needle or two onto the corner of a small cardboard square and rolling it up made a good dart. just make sure it fits your pvc pipe.
