  • I have gingerbread 2.3, trying to get SDK tools to downgrade to froyo but it says device not found... wtf. I hate how hard it is to find solutions to this shittt.

  • It says my driver for motorola is up to date or the latest version. What can I do?? Please help. My computer does not read I have adb.

  • My computer does not detect any either, but when I look into my folder it says adb. I have a motorola triumph.

  • Can't detect any adb devices :(

  • Thanks for this video. I have linked many people to it.

  • When I try to open SDK Manager.exe to put the adb in it opens the cmd thing but right after a window opens saying "WARNING: Java not found in your path. Checking if it's installed in C:\Program Files\Java instead. Java was found at C:\Program Files\Java\jd.. etc" and then it tells me to consider adding it to your path. It gives me directions to open control panel/ system/ advanced system settings/ environment variables and add some path at the end of the "Path entry." I did this but nothing :/

  • Didn't work for me. I got up to the cmd part, and even though I moved the files to root C, when I typed cd c:\android-sdk-windows\tools, it was an "unspecified path."

  • alright this noob has a question. why does your adb files have .exe and mine don't? where did I go wrong?

  • @kevindp81 I have Windows set to show file extensions... ;)

  • @MobileTechVideos dude! your the best! ;-)

  • nevermind. I did a driver update and the SDK sees my phone. Your videos kick ass. Thanks

  • @JRWperformance Great to here that is normally the issue.

  • @JRWperformance

which drivers did you update? and how? my problem is that when i type in adb devices in cmd my device isn't listed.

  • @JRWperformance

    nvm, found out how.

  • Ok....I have it downloaded but it is not seeing my device after typing adb devices. It just says list of devices and no listing...Any tips to figure this out? Why is it not seeing my device? Also I have the leaked version of 2.2 on my captivate. Does that affect this? thought it did not matter.

  • @JRWperformance It should matter but I've seen ROM's such as the 2.3 gingerbread port that did not allow the adb devices command to see the device. Are you sure you have drivers installed correctly? As in have you used other programs that see the phone like ODIN or droid explorer?

  • @MobileTechVideos My phone is currently on 2.3.3 Gingerbread and I really dont see my device on the list of devices. What should i do then?

  • @MobileTechVideos how do i make sure my drivers are installed correctly? they seem to be beccause i just rooted my phone looking at your video. but im having this same issue. it just shows list of devices attached and doesnt show a listing. please assist!

  • Thanks for the video. However, when I type adb devices it lists my device but says it's offline.

What does this mean and what can I do to change it?

    Thanks!

  • Ok, so I downloaded the SDK kit, and whenever I double-click the "SDK Manager" the black terminal box pops up for a split second, disappears, then nothing happens. I'm running Windows XP if that helps. Do you have any idea what's going on? It's incredibly frustrating.

  • @ALivingGrudge i have that problem too.. but i'm on windows 7 x64. i tried using the .exe version of the sdk manager, but it asks to install JAVA SE Development Kit 6 before you can progress. After installation, it still won't go.. even after a restart. so i'm pretty much stuck @2:30 of the video.

  • @ALivingGrudge alright i found a solution to my problem. try dling the java developer kit on their website for windows 32 bit. although i'm running a 64 bit, i installed it, and it worked for me.

  • @fbatillerz I already had that installed, considering it had to be done to download the SDK in the first place.

I can install the SDK, I just can't seem to use the SDK Manager to allow me to use ADB commands.

  • @connexion2005 it says i do have it and it is labeled as a application if i click on it it will bring up something similar to command prompt and it will automatically scroll through very fast then will close before it even get to the end

  • @adadhgfsgfgfd Launching the ADB will do just that. It will flash the command prompt and go away. You have to use it through the command prompt not launching it like an application. Once you've opened the command prompt if it's in the platform-tools directory type this:

    cd c:\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools

Type this if it's in the regular tools directory:

    cd c:\android-sdk-windows\tools

Then run the command again for adb devices. You have to be missing a key somewhere.

  • the cdm doesn't show me the device id it also doesn't confirm that the adb is there what should i do??????????

  • @adadhgfsgfgfd Reboot both the laptop and computer to start with. Using "My Computer", navigate through your drive to:

    C:\android-sdk-windows\tools

    C:\android-sdk-windows\plat-form tools

If you have truly downloaded the adb.exe file. It will be there. Let me know.

  • Awesome! I'm definitely learning a lot from your videos :) Thank you for them!

  • @AnnRein Hey no problem. I set all this up to give back to the community that has helped me start up with more efficient to the point info. Thank you again so much for the donation...
