@madinno It's the same sentiment, but it's not a rip off a exactly. It is a disapointment however for people who thought it was the other song. This song is pure cheese. Horrible. The other song says the same thing much better, and Forgerty is a way better singer and song-writter.

@Sunderlanding i think Brandi is very good, and i am a huge CCR fan from way back, so i hear you there...the only thing that is really annoying and makes me wish i didn't know it is this: apparently Brandi' song "The Story" was featured on the uber-shmaltzy night time soap.... ER...no that's not it...er.... Grey's Anatomy. what a waste of good music.

This has probably become my favourite song of Brandi's... this song and Turpentine..

I don't know, maybe it's the low poignant voice, but her voice in this song kinda reminds me of Avril Lavigne in her early days (before her transformation into the "hey hey you you" crap)...

Brandi Carlile is amazingly talented. What a voice! And this song so poignantly speaks to the truth of situations when we must, for our own well-being and sanity, walk away and proceed with our life without the attachment to dying or dysfunctional relationships. Bravo!

Yah, this is a beautiful song and one of the first of Brandi's songs that I became addicted to listening to! I heard it for the first time about two years ago and am always excited when she plays it live and someone records it and posts it here on you tube. I think there is a big community of Brandi C. fans who know this song well. It's just the mainstream doesn't know it yet because they are still stuck on the Story....which is completely understandble because it's such an outstanding song.
