  • Can someone check out mah 10ft parkour fall it will make me smile if i get at least 10 views

  • im 16 and if 50 out of 100 is normal build im about 45 but i have a very sore shoulder from a mistake does anyone know how i can stop my shoulder from slightly hurting whenever point my hand 45degrees behing my back legs standing up and whenever i lie down in bed on a lounge or on concrete it is pissing me off as i dont want to roll on it as it is causing problems

  • @superrandomised Try rolling on the Back of your shoulder, not the front. And first master the roll on grass, then move on to concrete ;)

It is frustrating, but you gotta know that it takes time to perfect the PK roll.

When you move onto concrete do the roll max 10 times a day if you're hitting something. Yes, it's faster if you just do 100 rolls a day, but when you get seriously hurt, it's gonna be hard laying in bed even. True story ;)

  • thank you SOOOO much, this video helped a lot

  • music?

  • Great tutorial

  • I'm a thin, slightly bony person and I have no real issues with my hip. However, i do sometimes feel it when I screw up my roll. My shoulder and spine sometimes take quite a hit. Thanks for this tutorial, I will have to impliment the things you showed.

  • Great tutorial. Should there be any pain, at all, on your right shoulder (or anywhere) on concrete?

  • Awesome tutorial. I like how there was text first, so that we got an idea of what you were talking about, and then video after to clarify everything and give us an actual picture. This is possibly the best tutorial I've ever seen, about anything. Subscribed.

  • Ryan Doyle wants you to crush your hand. This is a more elaborate tutorial :)

  • What a helpful tutorial, my rolls have much more momentum, and this comes from someone who hasn't tumbled or flipped since 2nd grade. The only problem is the back of my deltoid hurts when i roll on my right shoulder and my lower back is sore (not sure if that's just muscle soreness). I'm rolling on carpet by the way. Mabe grass is better?

  • 27 people missed the word "Advanced" in the title.

  • i have a problem hitting my shoulder.. the impact when first going into it hurts and sometimes a little along my back, is it ment to hurt, even a little bit?

  • @grkmalaka12 No

  • your the best and your parkour is amazing too thanks for all the help

  • so THATS why i keep hitting my spine..thank you!

  • At 1:44 I could almost feel a sharp pain in my back.

But seriously though, this is the most helpful tutorial on YouTube. I used to have a lot of issues with hitting my spine, but this video cleared that up for me.

  • only problem is that i chicken out :(

  • this is much better than Ryan Doyle

  • thank you sooo much! :3

  • This video was pretty good but check out Ryan Doyles roll tutorial it's amazing!

  • ummm wow i couldnt look at the details at all since u didnt put the rolls into slowmotion which would allow people to look at the details and i cant EVER EVER EVER NEVER EVER NEVER EVER EVER seem to get the roll right with out hurting something

  • Now u help me to do this thing. TY SO MUCH!

  • Awsome video. great details, adressed every problem I knew I had, and some that I didn't know :)

  • All of your videos RULE.

Seriously, all other tutorials I had seen focus on one particular technique, which confuses you, this allowed me to understand the only 'proper' way to do it is the best one for you. (:

  • i just cant stop hitting my god damn spine!!

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA i cant fucking understand that hip bone thing,HOW DOES HE ROTATE HIMSELF TO DIFFERENT STATES?

  • Comment removed

  • What shoes!!!?

  • @hipeeps28 nike air pegasus

  • Thanks for this, great tips.

But why the horrible headache music? WHY?!

  • @UrbanCurrent so, why the Kirovs, not the Ariakes?

  • when i do this i cant stand up fast my both knees hit the floor XD

  • whats the name of music?

  • I don't know where to put my hands can you help?

  • something that noone ever told me but REALLY helps, when u land make sure ur feet are at an angle...about 45, u WILL not hit ur hip

  • Ryan Doyle didn't speak anything about the hip bone

  • @IJayZz4 thats because he is a noob

  • @Americansolider lol but hes good with the corkscrew :))

  • @IJayZz4 Yes for me this is the best Tutorial i've seen on youtube yet.

  • @IJayZz4 this is not so helpfull

  • Ryan Doyle didn't speak anything about the hip bone

  • Crying baby music...

  • fuck there is way more shit that goes into a roll. I have just been learning from instinct, and tried to teach people my way. Didn't think there were this many variations

  • OMG I FINALLY DID IT!!! I've kept on practicing on my room with a soft mat but still always hit my hip bone, I decided to roll from my right ride which kinda felt weird at first but now I finally did it!!! n then took off the mat n did it on plain ground!!

  • I need to go try it but I am like 99 percent sure my problem was that first bit about the shoulder, I was totally slamming it into the ground and I've always been the bitch in my pk group with the shitty rolls xD This will definitely help I never thought of it as the back of the shoulder I always just thought shoulder in general. Thanks a ton

  • mine is the hip damn it hurts

  • I was doing wrong man

  • hey, im new to this training, when i do this roll im doing it the right way but my entire back cracks when i do it. it doesn't hurt but im worried please help me out, devon.

  • Best Roll Tutorial I've seen in a long time. Out to train, hope this helps. Thanks & Good Luck all

  • I can roll without hitting my shoulder but that damn hipbone....

  • @StriveParkour go eat and get some fat on ur ass :)

  • Where the fuck did you get this instrumental??

  • My shoulder gets really hurt everytime i try any help?

  • @TheGreatestOverall took me 1 week staright of practice to finally learn how to not hit my shoulder and it was really easy at the end ok put your head to the side and kinda just kinda tuck it in you and then tuck your should just a bit so u hit the back of the shoulder not the top

  • Thank you, very helpful video. This will help my Ninjutsu & Parkour, and help me to stop hitting my bony hips on the ground!

  • i cant even feel my hip bone anymore

  • Comment removed

  • @ELiT3xSniPeR32 You find the variation that works for you mentioned in this video. That is how you stop the pain in your shoulder/hip/other part of the body in terms of the roll.

  • @RichJayWar1994 i stop the pain from my hip n other parts but i still hit my shoulder

  • @ELiT3xSniPeR32 you have go rolling on the shoulder not to jump on it man :)

  • @xXxThEBRAINShaKeRxXx thnx really i really needed dat

  • @ELiT3xSniPeR32 seriously? :D

  • @urbancurrent hey i've been having issues with my shoulder and still cant fix it after seeing ur vid, plz help, i wana get this rite, i have a video on my channel, and i dun get it wen ppl say lean rite or lean left, plz help, oh and i tend to swing my lower part too fast and slam it on the ground in the end of the roll, it bruises... any suggestions?... tx plz help, it wud be great if u private message me and sttach a video for me :D

  • Seriously, everytime I try to do this roll, I hit my shoulder, no matter what I do, I ALWAYS HIT IT. ALWAYS! It is so frustrating. Someone please give me some advice. When I try to "roll my body over my arms" I go to far and slam into the ground.... I have tried and tried and tried..

  • Thank you so much, I've been doing Parkour for 3 years and have never managed to master the roll but I just watched this and have practiced for around 45 mins now and it is already helping immensely :)

    Instant favorite right there.

  • this video should be called "parkour roll - advanced tutorial", you are the only one adressing the issues that ppl have doing roll, gj man...

    tnx a million

  • go to judo and learn the basic break falls... they will help

  • My damn shoulder is giving me issues...

  • Hey i was just wondering if you need to change the way you roll in anyway if you wanted to end with the QM movement or with variations 2

  • When i first started out i always ended up bashing my shoulder against the ground. A bit later i got over that, but then i started bashing my hip. It took my about a seven months to get it perfect. Just keep trying.

  • anyone else only have problems with there spine on concrete?

  • thank you so much it helped me alot since im only 10 lol

  • Honestly, The roll didnt take me to much time to learn, it was easier for me then for most people, but I think thats because I tried for hours, day after day, and never gave up. Now I can Roll on any surface I land (except im not comfortable with rocks.) Whats weird is I roll from my left side, but im right handed. When I do a wall run, I grab with my left hand. But when I do a theif vault, im most comfortable with my right hand, so try your roll from both your left and right sides.

  • @ranger149 I tried both sides of my shoulders.

When I roll from my left shoulder, I go very straight or 45 degree but never 90 degree, I also hit the ground very hard when gettin back up, like slapping the ground with my palm, it just happens naturally. The problem is I hit my hip bone 2 hard.

When I roll from my right shoulder, I roll very round like 90 degree, again just happens natually. Though I'm not used to the right shoulder, sometimes hurts my shoulder but my spine n hip r ok.

  • There's a thing that I don't understand:

How to play with the angle?

Please explain again, I really need to know how. And I really need to know.

  • @TheGuardian163 thats the whole point, u try urself to land differently and see which landing fits you..

  • @yudy92 I tried so many times, so, I'll try again.

  • Thanks for this tutorial ^^.

So everyone has a method for roll?

  • the god forsaken hip bone!!! xD

it was hurting me for like a friking week!

  • This honestly didn't help as my shoulder blades stick out a lot and ALWAYS manage to jab into the ground and my spine ALWAYS gets hurt no matter which way I roll as the bone smashes the hard surface.

  • i love tutorial that use note rather than spoken tutorial. its easy to understand. :)

  • I tried these techniques but I am skinny so I kind of make contact with my actual bone cuz my shoulders are bony, any suggestions guys?

  • very good tutorial

before i saw this video i was afraid to roll

  • Comment removed

  • great video! I had big problems hitting my hip or shoulder but that video really helped me out :) i just came back from training and rolling around without hurt.next time i'll try it after a little jump! thanks a lot! :)

  • The music gets good around 4:00. :]

  • @Thr3Quarters

I like all the music ^^ especially the more electronic type stuff

  • thanks wonderful that really helped me!

  • ok, im doing the angle turning to help my hipbone, but when I do the turning, I still hit my hipbone. Please help? I tried all the angles

  • I'm still struggling on how exactly to make impact with the ground. I think I have good hand positioning, and actually pretty good exit momentum, but it's making contact with the back of the shoulder and keeping that flow (without banging up the back) that is a problem for me.

  • 23 people can't roll

  • 3:07 you just wanted to point out the parkour sign on your pants XD

  • Whenever you roll put some jump into it, dont just roll on the ground, mechanics are different that way and landing from a actual fall wont feel the same as just rolling. practice rolls with prior little jumps or falls, preferably on thick grass if your a noob.

  • How can I make my roll more forward? Every-time I try the roll I end up flip flopping half way through and landing full force on my right hip. I've tried rolling over pillows to get a better feel for rolling, but since I can't feel anything on pillows I can't tell if I'm doing it right or wrong.

  • @AndrewTB229 You need to push off with your feet more, when i first started this happened to me alot, try it on carpet, thats where i first learned.

  • Comment removed

  • i can't fix my shoulder! help T_T

  • @pivotiano show a video of you doing a roll

  • i hurt my shoulder really bad its like its bruised on the bone or sommat

  • I normally practise on a mattress but i tried it on carpet and smashed my shoulder against the floor SOO BAD! Can anyone tell me how to correct my roll?

  • @shoopdawhooperful land on the back of ur shoulder

  • i learned how to do it near the middle of the video, THANKS PILLOWS, but i can still do it om hard ground

  • my shoulder hurts dude i cant do that help

  • i'm just finding it hard not to hit my hip even when i do the turn

  • @RussellBanta like the tutorial says it takes a seriously long time, took me 2 years of experimenting. I found that I need to start my roll with my hands way out to my side and finish by reaching way out to my side, that helps me.

  • It's one of the most detailed tutorial ever and i doubt anyone would find it hard to nt do the roll properly after this :P

  • Hey i do parkour been so for nearly a year but the one thing for the last few weeks that has been annoying me is my breakroll. Great from a height on grass. don't feel it. but i am practically a stickman with my weight. can anybody please help with my breakroll on concrete cause i bruised my hip so bad trying it from standing on concrete that i can't even roll on grass now. :( i just need to change it from hitting my hip

  • i live on oahu and i really want to learn parkour.where can i learn?

also i have a problem when rolling.i roll on my right shoulder but my left bottom side of my hip gets sore.is this natural and i just have to wait until i get used to it? thanks

  • thanks alot man this helped heaps... one thing though...

when i roll my legs are together through out the hole entire roll, does that matter? is there down sides?

  • when i try to roll i always go sideways, how can i go forward?

  • @noobkilla591 if u cant roll forward,do a straight gymnastic roll, then try the pk roll ;) just roll forward

  • 21 people cant roll

  • Super like!!

  • oops i thought iw as supposed to be hitting my hip bone

  • @DawgFL how did fix that problem? i mean i tried all they said but nothing worked for me

  • @AltairPK23 oh i didnt need to fix it. in fact i was doing it perfectly the whole time, but I thought i was SUPPOSED to be hitting my hip bone, but it was not true.

  • Fantastic tutorial.. I had trouble with maintaining momentum out of my rolls and your QP roll made it perfect.. thanks so much

  • DUDE YOU FIXED MY SHOULDER PROBLEM I LOVE YOU MAN! best roll video out there really goes in depth about the roll.

  • DUDE YOU FIXED MY SHOULDER PROBLEM I LOVE YOU MAN!

  • AWESOME VIDEO DUDE!

  • When i do a roll i roll and when getting up i hit my left ellbow on the ground hard (i roll over my right shoulder) PLEASE HELP ANYONE

  • When I do my rolls I always find my impact comes at my hands. Because of this, I experience a soreness in my arms from the impact of high jumps and scratches on my elbows when I roll on concrete. How can I fix this?

  • @BrainDeadZombies Are you trying a dive roll or a normal shoulder roll? The trick is, not to "land" on your hands.. You need to use your hands to just guide your body into a (dive) roll.. For most people, that's head tucked in to the left & roll down the right shoulder. Also you need a certain amount of speed (a run up of just 2-3 steps) to be able to propel your body and dive hands first into the dive roll. (Be careful & be sure when you practice!)

  • i really want to learn how to dive roll, looks so much cooler than front flipping!

  • Awesome video, I was having the "dead fish" problem with my ankle, but this gave me some good solucions, thanks!

  • can anyone tell me how to actually change my exit angle?

  • @Kirilltraceur heyy, when you twist your body when you get up which side should i twist if i roll from my right soulder?

  • I've been running for a while, and i keep looking for a good shoe, and i don't want t drop 80 to 100 bucks for Ariakes what do you run in?

  • umm..how do you actually adjust your exit angle? by..twisting your body a bit? o.o

  • thanks a lot man, my roll was so jacked up, my shoulder was getting skin torn off(i roll randomly a lot at school). so yeah thanks a lot.

  • When I roll, I either hit the top of my shoulder, or my spine.

Its always one or the other, any one have advice?

I can do a roll sideways "Partially", but it does not fell like I did it right if I did not spin completely.

  • great tutorial. im super boney so it looks like im gonna have to go with the 90 degree exit angle to completely avoid my hip bone.

  • Songs ??

  • when i do it on grass, its fine. when i do the same technique on concrete, it hurts like a bitch. please help!

  • @TtEkSoF where does it hurt? as in what body part?

  • @lolo59912 it hurts on my shoulder, not on the top, but on the back on top of my scapula bone. I tried following the video, but it didn't help alot .

  • @TtEkSoF hmm.. quite unusual problem. im not sure but try to find a position when the scapula bone wont stick ut and then try to fit the position into the roll...

  • ** Grass,Tarmac = good:) laminate floor,concrete = not so good:/

  • Grass,Tarmac = good:) Lanier

  • @jetfboy lol

  • This is the best tutorial i've come across, thank you so much.

    Props man,

    Cole

  • every time i roll my clavicle hurts can some tell me what i do wrong

  • @MrParour112 hmm well you could be hitting it with your head when rolling ....... try to duck your head in as far as you can to the side opposite of your rolling shoulder... if not though the shock from your shoulder might have transfered to your clavicle ... im no expert though just my guess from experience. hope this helps, cheers!

  • Deeply appreciate all your videos! BTW what Music are you using? ))

  • Thank you for making this it realy helped me with my roll because i havn't been able to roll on concrete without hurting my hip. Thanks for making such an in depth guide compared to all these 1 or 2 minute videos.

  • I always hit my hip bone whenever I roll. Its been about a year now and I cant seem to find a solution. I keep on trying to find the best angle to come out on, but i can never find it. Any Advice?

  • @2ndhandAcrobatman I had that issue too. I just tried tucking my left leg closer to my body, pretty much making my hip stick out less and my butt more. :P

  • I get it right most if the time in grass but im hurting my shoulder and hip on concrete. Maybe im bottling out and getting it wrong

  • You don't feel it on soft surfaces, but on harder ones when you mess up...they make you pay. Although, sometimes people are scared to do it on concrete and flop, but changing your form helps, I do the same one the guy does in the video. It's not that hard as he say it is, it only took me 10 minutes.

  • The only way i can roll without any pain is if toll nearly sidways. Is this right?

  • I can do the roll but only on grass. Anyone know how to roll on concrete safley???

  • @iizguitarBen3 In this video, I'm rolling on concrete! All the same things apply. It should be the same.

  • baby music?

  • Comment removed

  • This was not the first roll tutorial I ever saw, but it was definitely the best. Coming back now after having practiced my roll for about a year now. I can roll on cement now with very few mess ups. I would highly recommend this video to anyone interested in Parkour or Freerunning.

  • My grandpa always told me,

"With great videos, comes lame dislikers."

  • 19 people dont know how to read

  • 19 people just plain suck.

  • hey, one question. when i roll i kinda hit my lower left corner of the back? it's not the hip and it's not the top part of the back. what's the problem? o.o

  • @muizzizz are you sure that your rolling completely diagonal across your back?

  • @13awesomeman ahh, i guess that's the problem then. not really diagonal. thanks man.

  • @muizzizz No problem going from shoulder to hip just helps minimize contact with the spine and reduce pain / injuries. Unfortunately no body told me this when I was learning to roll and ...... didn't go so great. Just glad to help.

  • @7reptile7Master ya I am but I still land weird

  • I'm just starting to get into parkour and I decided to learn the roll 1st for safety I guess . I practice on a carpet but I still have a GIANT bruise like 1 of the previous comments...I can't hit the back of my shoulder I keep hitting the top...HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP!!!

  • @Limabeast -are you tucking your chin / turning your head?

  • @Limabeast First when you're just starting out it usually works best to practice on grass. (can't leave rug burn) And second it sounds like your arms aren't doing what there supposed to, when you are going into a roll you should land on your hands then drop down to the back of your shoulder WHILE still holding yourself up then once you're on your shoulder you roll. Try it in slow motion to perfect your form try watching this too.. might help.

  • @Limabeast Parkour - Roll Tutorial by waszak

  • hooray for elevator music!!!

  • i am just starting out, i have done it about 20 times on a wood floor and have a large bruise on my shoulder, does this mean i am doing it incorrectly?

  • @BOJANGLES356 Okay so when you first started rolling did you practice on wood? If so this could be the problem, this is most likely because most people don't drop their entire body weight on their shoulder on hard wood very often. As long as you aren't hitting your head and are going from shoulder to opposite hip then you're probably good. Oh and try practicing on grass its much softer and doesn't leave bruises. then once you've perfected it try it on hard wood.

  • @13awesomeman ok man thanks for the advice i will try on grass and see how it goes
