If you take the song as if hes singing TO you, you start to understand the true meaning behind it. All of radioheads music is meant to "get you out" of your body, to take you back home. " Come slowly to me, iv been waiting". Its like god is singing to you to come back home. All of his music, is the same message. Go back home. Thats the sadness you hear. "theres a way out". He and many many other artists either knowingly or unknowingly, sing about taking you people back home to oneness.

I think he was a more "meat and potatoes" rock-and-roller, preferring B-52's as opposed to Pink Floyd (the thematic predecessor of Radiohead), so I think he would've appreciated their contribution to rock and artistry, but I dont think he would've really liked them honestly. Just different sensibilities. I know he would've hated the 80's.

Personally, I've heard weirder tracks, by Radiohead and others. IMO Bodysnatchers is in the same ball-park of discordant grating beauty as tracks like Myxomatosis or Electioneering - it shouldn't work but it does.

However, the song is somewhat raucous and unmelodic, and Thom mumble-shouts his way through most of it which is what I meant by 'grating'. In other words it's no Fake Plastic Trees or Like Spinning Plates. Not that I expect him to sing in an angelic falsetto at all times either mind you. I really dig his style on Wolf at the Door.
