I believe that was the original Lex because it said Lx0 which has to mean original the real one. Also his arm was burnt when he was laying on the table probably from the truck explosion. Also Rosenbaum did say in a interview that the lex we see in the finale is the real lex.

you people are waaaay too easy to please, that ending was garbage, and no I'm not a hater for all you idiots out there. when you see the series as a whole you get a sense of what the original showrunners were trying to do, making it a MODERN take on superman, a superman living in a post 9/11 world. this finale and whole season wasted that concept by reverting back to the donner/reeves movies. why a bumbling dorky clark kent??? and the dialogue has become somewhat campy and out-dated.

Haha love your reaction in the beginning, that was me exactly, its been over a day and I'm still getting over it all.

The finale was so emotionally engaging, especially the barn family scene, Clark floating after the awesome montage to take out Darkseid - Becoming Superman in that moment then getting the suit and and Superman flying to the window, nodding to Lois, what an emotional Smallville Moment.

Overall regardless of not seeing him in the full Suit, we got one hell of a send off.

@skeete246 It's spelled "Darkseid" & you're right there should've been a fight. Not with a possessed Lionel Luthor. They @#$!! up when they made Darkseid some kind of stupid cloud or fog thing. They should have portrayed Darkseid as he's known in the series. A physical form, larger than Superman & just as strong. Plus they should've introduced Darkseid a couple of years ago & built up the ending to Smallville. I wanted to see a fight and there wasn't one. It was Great to see Lex though.

They should have made him real so Clark and him would've of had an epic fight. Don't get me wrong, I liked the ending, but a final fight between these two powerful beings would have made the ending much more awesome.

the superman returns suit could not fully fit tom welling, and they werent aloud to alter the suit... thats why all superman scenes were CGI and Tom's final scene he only had on the upper part of the costume... but either way i loved it and great way to end the show

What I found was the ending wasn't just like Smallville, you could tell Clark had changed and had become Superman...Mindblowing. It was Epic but I only wish it could continue!

I thought it was really average. If I was not such a fan I would probably substitute average with something much worse.

1. No full shots of Tom in the suit, which sucked as that's what most people wanted to see. Although the SFX were suprisingly good.

2. Fight with Darkseid. Need I say more?

Like you, I would have preferred an epic final battle. It had the same feel as the battle with Doomsday. Other than that, I think they did a SUPER job. The loose ends were all tied up. Lex 0 was revived, suit finally revealed (more or less), Clark finally took flight. I think they did exactly what they needed to and ended with a bang. 10 years of hard work..... It's been a great ride.

I think Martha was aware of Jonathan's presence, she came in and pretty much continued where Jonathan left off in his talk with Clark.

I think they did John Glover's beard like that to look like Darkseid's crown, they did the same thing with Orion's beard in Kingdom Come.

Lex isn't a clone, he just had certain parts grafted onto him. So this IS Lex, and not a clone.

You are aware that the Lex that we see now is the original Lex right?... not a clone... As you can see from the burn injury he still has from the explosion....and even more so, just when lionel opens the door to where lex is... on the table that lex is on, it clearly says LEX 0 or rather ''Lex Ø'' which indicates he is the original, as all the clones are numbered from 1 upwards

I loved the finale but have two criticisms: 01) I wanted Lois to be the first to coin SUPERMAN, but it ended up being Chloe to her son; 02) we didn't see Clark in the suit. We saw some incredible CGI of him flying in the suit (which WAS awesome, don't get me wrong) and we saw the "S" at the end as he pulled his shirt open. But we never saw Clark completely in the suit. A shot of him standing on top of the Daily Planet with cape billowing behind him would've been a better ending (IMHO)!

The entire 10th season was lame. Just cramming in as much Justice League shit as possible while ripping off recent movies; they even ripped off that Spartacus show. It was nice to see Michael Rosenbaum again (a true master of his craft), but the continuity alignment of removing his memory with "deus ex goo" was dumb. Thank God they didn't bring back Kreuk. Lana should have been written out of the show back in season 2 or 3.

Having watched this from day one and having 10 years invested, I absolutely lost my shit when he soared through the top of the fortress. Amazing episode. I think the one thing that could have made it better was if Clark fought Darkseid after becoming Superman. Anyone else lose it when Jonathan handed Clark the suit and said "Always hold onto Smallville". Just a way to go out I couldn't be happier.

But if your a Superman fan, you know you always wanted to see and lean more about superman and this filled in a lot of the holes we didn't get to see in the comics. I do have some niggles with the episode, eg how we never saw a full body shot of clark wearing the suit (seemed like it was all CGI... apart from the end where he had the blue shirt on underneath). I doubt that Welling actually wore the full suit? A fight with darkseid also would have been nice. But still a very enjoyable episode. Loved the bits with the Kents/Lex/Jor El

I would have loved to see Tom wearing the whole suit, not just hope the fans use their imagination. Just like Tess, you stabbed the fans in the heart! The Metropolis spin off show will never happen. Everything's been sold off. Hopefully the WB will figure out what show to put Tom in. I'd hate for him to be a behind the scenes director and become huge like Steven Spielberg.

This was an amazing ending. I love Smallville and it brought so much hope and meaning to Superman. I don't know what I am going to do without this show. I must admit the two hour final of Smallville was very Korney and I felt that the editing was rushed! Though I did like how Tom Welling took the suit and changed into Superman as he flew away from Fortress with incredible speed. I also enjoyed those personal moments that Tom Welling's Clark Kent had with Lois Lane, Martha Kent and Jonathan Kent. I was disappointed overall :(

The Finale was an EPIC FAIL. Season 10 was an EPIC FAIL. The people of earth never really got the chance to be introduce to Superman and that was very disappointing. The world is ending and clark just super speeds around until 5 minutes left in the show!! Come on. I really wanted to see an introduction into Superman to the world.
