Yea, ur Avalon is a common front wheel drive. Pure Lexus are Rear Wheel Drive muscle car like (Benz, BM, Corvette, etc...)

It is capable of muscle car performance. It has all the ingredients, even the cheaper LS 460 can toast the rear wheels doing stand still burnout starts, burbling V8 exhaust note and low 5 sec. 0-60. And thats a stock very heavy LS. Get free flow exhaust, light wheels = more muscle car status.

there is a much higher chance of losing control of the car than with a front wheel or all wheel drive car.

@shawtiee1085 Well, as I've been driving all kinds of stuff stuff since 1975 I think I can still safely say that RWD does not suck at all. Check out Formula 1 cars. But unskilled drivers suck in rain, snow, dry, sand, custard, whatever, no matter which wheels are driven on their vehicles.

@shawtiee1085 The reality is that front wheel drive is not particularly suitable for anything larger that a mid size/intermediate family car. But FWD was chosen for more than slightly easier of driving for the average driver. The drive train is simpler, lighter (reducing fuel comsumption), the body will have more room inside and be cheaper to make .

Don't get me wrong though, I don't like the LX600 range at all. Give me a Bently any day! B¬)
