I picked up James Gang Rides again on vinyl (like Led Zepplin it's the only way to truly experience the album). This record is amazing it's so layered and I swear there are samples all over this thing that I can't place. A must have for any fan of vinyl and classic rock. The strange thing is the most popular track funk #49, I barely listen too anymore because I've heard it so many times. The rest of the album is really good. Too bad it is so overlooked but I think people will come around.

Yes, FatBoy did a great job on this.

I only know this song because FatBoy sampled it and I went and looked for the sample.

But the cool thing about songs like this is, they're not completely symphonic, nor are they just band-music.

As a producer I'd say the musical brilliancy lies within those kind of songs and FatBoy choose this record well to sample from.
